STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Itrusted this company to sand and finish my oak flooring in a south facing conservatory.
When i 1st dealt with Mr Sander, they send Alex out to give me a quote. I thought would be a good job to be done with Mr Sander I went ahead with the job.
The original date had to be changed due to myself having to have surgery ,this wasn’t a problem and reorganised the date.
I had emails to state that the workman would be here to start at 08.00. I am a disabled widower who has difficulty with mornings, but i was all sorted ready for the work person to arrive for 8 am.
At 11.40 'Alex' apperared saying that he had had to take the children to school before travelling 2 hours from Rugby to me .
I also have 2 little dogs and 3 cats .This he knew at the time of quoting ,therefore the finish for the floor was to be hard wearing, I also stated I wanted a gloss /shiny finish,which I was assured would be the case.
I was amazed at how swiftly the job process was with No Dust.
I had removed the cats and dogs prior to the work starting.
I must state that the date of this visit was during the extreme heat the country started to experience. I was concerned about this,plus whoever was doing the work in a south facing conservatory.
Despite the fact that it was above 50 °in there ,he carried out the sanding, then applied the primer and 1st coat of laque.
I was amazed at the difference between the before and after Sanding BUT was extremely disappointed with the matt sheen finish .
The following day, alex returned to resand the 1st layer then apply the final laque. He came again at 11.45 pm after I had received another email from MR SANDER the evening before stating the work would start at 08.00am.
Alex is a lovely chap who put myself at ease . Therefore, I took my dogs out whilst he proceeded with the work .
When i arrived back after an hour maximum he had resanded and put the last layer of finish on , the heat in a south facing conservatory exceeded 50°+
The sofa was replaced in before he left .Alex left a thank you note and an aftercare card.
I was told by alex that he had applied another matt sheen coating NOT GLOSS as HE decided that the sun would 'bounce ' off that to be blinding in that room and left.
I was extremely disappointed with the finish, so i contacted Mr Sander regarding this.
I had a reply from them backing Alex's decision rather than me the customer, which was wrong .This is where everything went wrong . After alarge number of emails back and forth I had been advised by Mr Sander to allow them to return to correct the finish.BUT IT WOULD COST ME AN EXTRA £180 For the gaps to be filled PLUS AN EXTRA £80 FOR LAQUE !
As I wanted the job to be corrected and MR SANDER stating gap filling wasn’t in the original quote I allowed them to return 9.07.2026, Alan came with 1/2 used tube of silicone. i offered him a drink' i had a pint if cider before I came' This was NOT A JOKE so he had drunk a pint before9.30!!
I had expected the gaps to have been prepared beforehand then oak dust mixed with this to fill the gaps.and open knots ,whilst on his phone i overheard him saying 'its a doddle' No sanding to 'key' before he dolloped small amounts of marldon laque on hazzardly before he tried to roll it unfortunately it was was curing because it exceeded the temperature limits. He stated he only ever uses 'marldon matt or sheen' and never gloss .I don't carry Bona as it's £180 for 5 litres. This is just as good at £50. MR SANDERS flooring card left was for BONA laque Not marldon.
He told me he was picking the grandkids from school. I was to pay CASH TO ALAN .The laque was peeling the following am areas weren't even covered and it wasn't glossy,No edges were even touched plus some areas had no laque even applied !
I CONTACTED MR SANDER WITH PHOTO'S
I was offered a full refund Or for them to have an independent firm to put good eventually from Anthony. I had family issues between this .
I am still waiting for a FULL REFUND OF £1260 AS ARRANGED BY ANTHONY MILLER OWNER OF MR SANDER
Afterwards I RECIEVED AN EMAIL ONLY IF I SIGN A DISCLAIMER!
I AM STILL WAITING AFTER YET ANOTHER 2 EMAILS for my money to be return .
Therefore, I CAN NOT RECOMMEND Mr Sander to ANYONE IN the STAFFORDSHIRE AREAS AS THEY ONLY HAVE ALEX AND ALAN WHO COVER THIS AREA .
MY 1ST REVIEW WAS REMOVED BY MR SANDER AND TRUST PILOT as I named the sub contractors company trading name .

I had a floor repaired and two rooms sanded, Marco was the specialist I can’t praise him enough, he has given my floors a new lease of life, they look new.

Marco is such a hard worker, he is very knowledgeable and very professional.

If you need floors sanding, use Mr Sander absolutely fantastic, his admin Tom was very friendly, explained the process and kept me updated.

Completely messed up my floors. Put me in contact with some cowboys who really did damage to my floors. Then couldn't install beading properly and all of it has come off. They even glued it to the sander floor and caused damage. They also removed a concrete area to patch in some wood. They didn't even match the sizing or colour but it was too late. Stay away from this place.

Great craftsmanship, good work, ahead of schedule. Ali was very passionate about the state of our floors, about keeping us in the loop and helping us make the right decision.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Ali was the gentleman who did my floors and the result was truly better than I ever could have imagined. He was also amazing at communicating throughout, showed care in his work and a pleasure throughout.

I thoroughly recommend Mr Sander.

Few issues with our experience using Mr Sander.
The quality of the workmanship was fine but unfortunately we were left very disappointed.
Firstly the person who did the consultation of the floor was not the same person who physically did the work so when they showed up they hadn’t been briefed correctly on what was agreed and asked for - including they were going to leave a big patch of concrete showing by the fire place (for nearly 2 thousand pounds this was crazy to us and not what was agreed)

Secondly, we had said repeatedly that we would like the floor to be lightened as much as possible in the process and that was the main objective. The end result was much darker and deeper in colour than it ever was originally and we hated the end result.

When I raised the issue on the day I was laughed at and told sarcastically I could paint it white.

Then when we raised these issues again afterwards via email, they just said it wasn’t possible to do and that’s just the colour, so if this is true consequently why did they take our project on?

Their website says that they come back if the customer isn’t happy however with us they just stopped responding to our emails. We were left with a floor that we hate which is sad after being recommended the company.

Outstanding service by Arban from Mr Sander. Impeccable attention to detail and every effort made to minimise dust. Four flights of wooden steps done to perfection.

The work was carried out one day late due to sickness, which was annoying! However, the result was worth the wait. Extremely pleased with the sanding and waxing of our maple lounge floor. Very professional employees. Would definitely recommend this firm.

Alberto did an amazing job - he was very communicative with making arrangements and keeping me informed of progress. His approach to sanding and lacquering the floor was very thorough and the finish looks fantastic. I would definitely recommend using Mr Sander!

Wow ! I would highly recommend this company, They are so professional nothing was too much trouble. I’m over the moon with my floor. It looks brand-new again , Nick was so friendly and polite and kept everything clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend this company, such a great job

Very good communication from the company before the job. There was then a problem with the surface 6 days after completion and payment. Very sad to say that they have been very poor at following up, now ignoring WhatsApp messages and emails as I have been trying to organise a return visit. I wouldn't us them again as a result of their aftercare - none!

Josh sanded and varnished our kitchen work top which was in bad disrepair. It looks absolutely wonderful and lifts the kitchen amazingly. He is very professional - tidy and polite- and is clearly knowledgeable about his craft and highly experienced. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Thanks Josh!

Very professional and competent, felt very confident in his work as I felt he understood wood. I had no mess and any mess that was created was cleaned up for me. My floors look amazing I am so thrilled with them. Would highly recommend Mr Sander.
