Ratchet straps were great

Ratchet straps were great - everything arrived fairly quickly, in good condition. The only request I would have would be to have the nylon rope wrapped on a cardboard tube so it doesn't turn into tangled spaghetti after opening the package!

***Word of Caution!*** 1-star not…

***Word of Caution!*** 1-star not allowed so how low will they go?

This second review shouldn’t have needed to have been written but my first review entered on Mudfords website was removed that I can only assume was because it was a 1 star review. I was then invited by Trustpilot to give them a review and saw it as a second opportunity.

The original review was an honest description of events however, the company's response was quite underhand if not bizarre after leaving them a 1-star review along with photographs showing them a comparison of what was advertised and what was received . Their response was, should we say, strange to say the least. I have now written this second but shorter version on TrustPilot.

This all started as a possible mis-advertised product, a negative 1-star review, and an empty goodwill gesture topped of with some questionable behaviour regarding the integrity and transparency of their review system, which brings to mind a PR Disaster on how not to treat your customers as it appears the their main focus was to delete a negative, none offensive but factual review at all costs, that has highlighted in this instance a serious shortfall in customer service.

There is no reason this issue should have gotten to this, if a little honesty and thought had been applied by following through and dealing with the issue correctly.

In a nutshell, an item viewed was bought from their website after an initial telephone call to their customer service. A hefty postage fee was applied but I was still happy to make the purchase. The item arrived on 10th July but was not the item advertised. To return it did not make economic sense as the total postage (hefty) was more than the cost of the item so a negative review was left that resulted in the offer of a goodwill gesture (by email) of a partial refund and I could keep the product.

I also requested that the image used to advertise be corrected for their future customers' benefit. This was duly done. All appeared well until I noticed that two new unverified high-star reviews had suddenly appeared for the item on their review page, this undoubtedly raised my suspicions, as my review had now been removed giving the item a now overall 4.5-high star rating from a previous low star rating. This was supposedly out of a total of three reviews, mine was the first and only verified review but this had now been removed and the total rating was from the two newly unverified reviews that had been added. No explanation was ever offered but I’m not surprised of that either.

Furthermore, no partial refund has been forthcoming to date so why offer it in the first place? I can't help but wonder about the transparency of their other reviews on their review system. If integrity and transparency are and can be manipulated allowing a company to pick and choose without impartiality only reviews they want to be seen, what is the purpose in the first place of having a review system? Unless of course, you only ever want to be seen in a good light but that to me, that is dishonest and seems to have led me to the conclusion of an individual or practice that has shot Mudfords review system in the foot, as would appear in this instance, and that all sounds a little ironical having the motto -Trusted since 1832.

Would I use or recommend Mudfords again? With the customer experience I've had I don’t even think that would be worthy of comment.
