Horrible customer service, staff and workers.
I arrived in Munich airport and had to wait in line for ages at the passport control. The police checking passports took ages to check a passport and was waiting in line for a long time. Then, although this was my fault, I left my suitcase in the baggage carousel area and after I was out I realised. I tried to ask a security guard for help but he was lazy and grumpy and told me to go away. I then went to the baggage lost and found area which then took ages and made me go through security all over again and passport control, which I was then waiting for even longer again and by the time I got through security 1 HOUR LATER my suitcase was gone. My efforts to get it back have resulted to no response from them. I have not got my suitcase back. Absolutely useless customer service and workers. Should be a zero stars if I could.

Terminal 2
Terminal 2. Early flight, around 5:50 am. Check in without any help after paying 400 EUROs for a two hours flight. Security was a chaos. I don't like the "round-security-architecture" "Light" airconditioning. Almost no restaurants were open, accept one. Long queue. They dont even have box were I can buy water, cash. Terminal 2 and the bathroom were clean, that s about it. Munich, terminal 2, not my favorite!

Rude and aggressive employee
I entered the departure area with my car and exited after 2 minutes. The electronic system that controls the accesses charged me with 3 euro and when I called the parking assistence to ask for some explanation and confirmation that I needed to pay I was told to go to the cash desk and pay, without further info, and only in german despite the fact that I asked to speak in english. I asked again for some additional info and they hung up the phone using a very rude and aggressive attitude. I have never experienced such an uneducated and uncivilised behaviour for nothing. If munchen airport wants to be a really international airport, they should hire more qualified and civilised people that can give useful info to non german people without being so rude for nothing; I regret to say that nowadays this is not happening.

Every week I fly from Munich. This airport is very poor in luggage service. Not one single flight with fast and reliable luggage service.
Incompetent management
Incompetent management. Poor service and full of excuses. Avoid this airport.
If you have to check a bag (better to avoid it) then plan a wait of at least 1 hour on the plane while waiting for baggage to be loaded or on the return end 1 hour to wait for it to be unloaded.
If your airline hires Munich staff to check you in, then expect the seat numbers to be completely messed up.
Any flight going to Munich will also more than likely be delayed. Plan for that too.

Terminal 1 - What a nightmare !!!
I’ve been flying for a very long time ; my recent flight out of Terminal 1- Munich Airport has been the worst experience in the last 30 years !
The terminal is used for non EU - intercontinental flights by major carriers such as Qatar , Emirates, Turkish Airlines and other global airlines that fly a large number of people to worldwide destinations.
The problem is that the terminal’s infrastructure and organization is the one of a Third World County airport !!!
SHAME ON YOU MUNICH TERMINAL 1 !
Huge lines for everything, starting at check in where only 2/3 check-in desks were open to check in the passengers of wide body aircrafts such as B777 , A380, B787 .
The situation only gets worst at the security check , as all these intercontinental flights depart more or less at the same time ( mid afternoon ) and queues get HUGE.
So huge that the security check itself was closed and people were told to wait outside the security check line and to come back later !
I would like to point out that it took me 1 hour to go through security , and I was in their so called “ Fast Track “ lane for Business class passengers.
The security check staff was totally inadequate to handle the situation, they were few in number, very slow in performing their duties and spoke poor English .
In addition to that they were asking passengers to perform stupid , time consuming tasks which are not standard security procedures, such as removing small items from their bags ( mobile phones , nail scissors, clothes ! ) and put them into the trays.
Single trays are given to passengers by hand by the same person ( 1 person ) who does the checks ( no automatic system to give /move /collect the trays).
The same person often interrupted the already extremely slow process to start discussions with passengers .
The body scans they use slowed down the process even more as passengers were asked to stand in ridiculous postures for a prolonged period of time in order to be scanned ; somehow this procedure had to be repeated for the same passengers 2/3 times.
I ‘ve never seen such a stupid and awkward process anywhere in the world.
After the security check you are left to wait in a small and overcrowded boarding lounge which has only a small duty free shop and 1 ( low-end take away ) restaurant/bar where you can buy something to eat/drink ( after another big queue ) .
Most of the boarding gates don’t have separate lines for priority boarding ( business class , elite frequent flyers ) , therefore also boarding was a mass with again, another big line for everyone.

Terminal 1 is terrible. Very unconfortable and crowdy, no Lufthansa Lounge there, connection to T2 not working well.

Utterly appalling. In fact it's hard to think how they could be worse. I've flown in an out of here maybe 20 times over the years and pre-pandemic it was great. It's now a disaster. Avoid like the plague or you'll ruin your holiday.
