After an expensive consultation I checked back in a few times to see if my promised 'plan' was emerging.. emails ignored, tried again, very short replies, nothing I had been promised was remembered and I had no treatment plan! and no offers of one! It was a bit of a nightmare - 2 months later, I was still in pain and so gave up & went to another dentist.. communicating was difficult and in the end completely pointless.. shame.

I was advised to have my 3 root canal teeth removed as I have health conditions - Adrenal Exhaustion, Hypothyroidism, Candida & IBS which I control with a Nutritional Balancing Programme. This is a deep healing system that supports the body with optimum nutrition, supplements and corrects the toxic metal poisoning. I already had 17 mercury amalgam fillings and 1 gold filling replaced in 2011 by my NI Holistic Dentist. I now needed the root canals removed to enable my body to heal and my NI Dentist was unable to do this procedure.

Munro Hall Clinic was my first choice as I have known about this clinic for 20 years. Dr Bita Fox (Principal Dentist), who took over the practice after Graeme & Lilian Munro-Hall retired, has taken it to a new level of excellence. Unfortunately, I had to postpone treatment for a year as I took an almond nut allergy and was ill. During this time Julie the Receptionist was really diligent and kept in touch with me - she gave me advice on treatments, answered all my queries and booked me suitable appointments – very much appreciated Julie! At the consultation in Nov 2024, Dr Fox took x-rays and I then attended Cavendish Imaging for a CBCT scan which showed 2 very infected root canals.

I returned to Munro Hall Clinic in Feb 2025 for the 2 extractions. When I arrived I was very well looked after. Julie who is a very nice lady welcomed me and made me comfortable in the waiting room. Lovely nurse Runjie was gentle, attentive and very supportive. Also Dr Fox’s calm, patient, kind and gentle manner put me completely at ease and instilled a sense of confidence in me from the very first moment. Dr Fox advised me that it would be a complex extraction as root canal teeth are brittle and I had 2 roots in 1 tooth which is unusual; and my NI Dentist believed I have had the root canals since I was a young child (maybe 60 years ago) - they were deep, well established and would not come out easily. I was given a Vitamin C Intravenous Infusion to support me during surgery, a blood sample was taken for the blood plasma to regenerate bone growth, ozone to eliminate infection, & near infrared laser for rapid healing to the wound. This was indeed a difficult extraction with complications (apologies to Dr Fox as I am sure it was very stressful for her) as there was excessive bleeding and it was impossible for her to complete the procedure. Dr Fox took all this in her stride and I knew I was in safe hands. I felt good after the surgery and didn’t need painkillers.

Dr Fox arranged for me to return to the clinic 2 days later and for Specialist Oral Surgeon Tarun Nagpal to attend and assist with the 2nd surgery. This time I only needed ozone. There was absolutely no pain whatsoever, only a feeling of pressure at times. Afterwards I felt an enormous sense of relief to have the bad bacteria out and the infected bone removed. I am normally a nervous patient but Runjie, Dr Fox and Mr Nagpal were all very caring, skilled and professional and put me completely at ease. The treatment was excellent from start to finish. I have never felt so relaxed during dental treatment. I now feel more confident and will no longer have to take St John’s Wort prior to visiting the dentist! I have learned that some herbs/supplements can increase the risk of bleeding during surgery so it’s better to skip them.

Dr Fox advised me to rest for at least 7 days before flying home. This was good advice as I was fatigued after the second surgery. My jaw only ached a little, I had minimal swelling and a slight bruise which disappeared after several days. My stitches dissolved within 14–19 days and the wound has healed well. We decided a denture to replace the missing teeth was the safest and best option for me and I will take this forward with my NI Dentist in 4 months’ time. I hope to have the third root canal removed at a later date at Munro Hall Clinic and this time I will book a self catering apartment instead of a hotel so I can get proteins and vegetables to support my recovery. I will give another review in 6 months’ time to advise on health improvements.

Finally, I would just like to say that over the years I have watched Dr Fox grow exponentially as a Biological and Holistic Dentist. It is because of this that she brings to her work the most cutting edge and groundbreaking techniques and ideas. As a client, knowing that Bita is always at the forefront of the latest developments is invaluable. I love the fact that she offers this new found knowledge to the world. A huge thanks to Bita and her team. I will always be very grateful to her for taking on my case. She is an incredible dentist and I highly recommend her.
