Service not the same

When I purchased my Arlo Netgear camera system, Arlo Netgear advertised and promised free video service. It was part of the purchase and stated specifically. Recently Arlo Netgear arbitrarily cancelled the service without any communication.
When a business advertises something one would believe they would honor their promise.
I will never trust Arlo Netgear again!!

I've had a few Netgear routers for…

I've had a few Netgear routers for quite a few years now in multiple locations and they have been pretty solid performers the whole time with no issues other than one time the wireless was turned off via a glitch or whatever caused it and I had to search online for the "secret" light that is a wifi switch that is the ONLY way to turn the router's wifi back on. Lots of frustration on that one but if this were the extent of my experience with Netgear I would have given 4 or maybe even 5 stars for the product.

BUT, I will not deal with Netgear ever again because they are emailing me newsletters constantly and provide no way of unsubscribing from them. Yes there is an unsubscribe link in the emails but you can't actually unsubscribe - even after setting up a required online account just to be able to do so.
Search online for can't unsubscribe from Netgear emails. Anyone who has purposely dirty marketing practices such as this does not deserve to have customers. So I am never going to be a Netgear customer again when there are lots and lots of good alternative companies to choose from that do not use dirty marketing tactics such as not letting their customers unsubscribe from marketing emails.

My only recourse is to use the spam filter but while that may remove the unwanted emails from my inbox it does not remove the anti-customer attitude and underhanded business practices of the Netgear Corporation. Hasta La Vista Netgear.

Netgear Support is completely useless

I was charged a fee for netgear armor, their rebranded bitdefender anti-virus software subscription service. It is/was not functioning so I requested a refund. I was asked to provide a proof of purchase (which I did), but that proof came from, you know, NETGEAR as an email, so think about that. I was assured on multiple occasions, after multiple calls and hours on hold, that a refund would be provided in '2 to 4 days' and told to be patient. Weeks have passed and a refund has not yet been issued even though I've been assured one would be by now. The first line support reps would seem to be located in a foreign country where English is not their primary language, so there are typically communication issues when dealing with them. They are also essentially powerless as when asked anything of substance they put you on hold, then come back and say they 'escalated' the issue and provide a case number. My issue has gone through I believe 4 case numbers so far. As a customer you are not permitted to speak with anyone who can actually resolve an issue on the spot. I can not ever see myself purchasing another Netgear product as a result of my personal experience with their "support" team.

I was charged a subscription service…

I was charged a subscription service for 106.99 that I had autorenewal turned off and also confirmed with customer service that it was not suppose to happen. All of my products said that Armor was not active or supposed to be renewed on my devices. I spent two hours and multiple calls and emails to remedy this. I've spent thousands of dollars with Netgear over the years but this is the LAST time I will ever do business with them. My case number is 46743356.
