Review of MyAccess Clinics
Review of MyAccessClinics.ie – Lack of Response for Documented Chronic Migraine Case
I contacted MyAccess Clinics after being advised by two people working in the medical field that their service was designed for patients like me.
I suffer from chronic treatment-resistant migraines that have been documented for over 20 years. I spent three years under the care of a neurologist before being told that there was nothing further they could do for me. At that point my condition involved:
- Around 20 migraine days per month
- Pain reaching 10/10, sometimes lasting up to three days
- A permanent background headache around 5/10 every day, with migraines building from that baseline
After reading about medical cannabis as a treatment option, I decided to try it myself. Through careful experimentation I found a very consistent and controlled routine that helped significantly. Using 2–3 vaporiser doses in the evening, my migraines reduced to 4–6 per month, with shorter duration and reduced pain. My constant background headache also dropped to around 3/10.
Whenever I did not have access to cannabis, my migraines returned to their previous severity. When I had regular access again, they improved again. Importantly, my use remained strictly controlled:
- No increase in dosage
- No daytime use except during severe migraines
- Only evening vaporiser use to manage symptoms and help with sleep
Given this long medical history and the clear benefit I experienced, I expected at least some form of response from MyAccess Clinics – even if it was simply to say that I did not qualify or that a consultation was not possible.
However, I received no reply at all.
From my perspective this raises concerns about how accessible the medical cannabis system actually is. The Irish government often states that medical cannabis is available, yet in practice the pathway appears extremely difficult to access.
I also understand that only a little over 300 ministerial licences have been granted in Ireland. Cases like mine – with a long documented medical history and treatment failure – would seem to be exactly the type of situation this programme was meant to address.
At the very least, patients reaching out in good faith deserve a response.instead of the automated we will contact you within 72 hours.

This box isn’t big enough
This box isn’t big enough, do you need a local office you need a local number, you need to reply to emails faster, every time a new prescription goes in there delays, even the pharmacists say well if David said Monday it could be Tuesday or Wednesday, it’s a bit of a running joke!!

Never had any issues with my access clinics, a very professional service
I went over a month without medication…
I went over a month without medication because my practitioner forgot to book my next appointment, then I was cancelled and delayed multiple times - I requested a refund of the appointment cost which was denied - despite this being a three minute phone call, after I had waited over a month to be seen, on their mistake. Anywhere can make mistakes, it’s how a company makes up for them that shows what their nature is and this company does not care about its patients.
MAC’ top notch service
I cannot express enough how grateful I am to MAC for the exceptional care they have provided me. Their commitment to hassle-free patient care and professionalism at every level has made a significant difference in my life. Without their genuine concern and attention, I truly believe I would be in a much worse situation. Today, during my follow-up appointment, Ruth demonstrated an extraordinary level of care. Thank you.
Very easy to use
Excellent service and product!
I’ve been using my access clinic for around 2 years! They are so helpful and knowledgeable, the oil has definitely helped me with pain! That I no longer need prescription pain medication!

Grateful for the service but the amount…
Grateful for the service but the amount of hiccups and issues especially between the clinic and pharmacy is insane! Had to call and intervene almost every day to coordinate the clinic with the pharmacy just unbelievable and still hasn't resolved. They really need to iron out their coordination and make their process less painful to the patient who is already seeking for a pain relief. Still a very long way to go.
