Expensive and Unrequired Work Suggested - A Cash Grab!
I recently had my vehicle serviced by MyCar in Rosebud. Service itself was ok, however base cost was almost $100 more than was quoted, then they charged so much for rear brake service (compared to other brake repair places) and also wanted to do front brakes as well for around $1400, they said front rotors where 3 times more expensive, I declined, ended up getting them done elsewhere at less than 1/2 the price with quality parts. They also wanted me to do a front end alignment as they said there was signs of wear. However, the car had done less than 60kms since a set of 4 new tyres and a front end alignment was done the day before, took car back to tyre place who rerun the front end alignment numbers and they showed me the report, completely in range! As chance had it, got a puncture 3 weeks later and took car to an independent tyre place and asked them to check same whilst fixing the puncture and they confirmed tyres & alignment was correct and no wear at all, the independent guy said 'MyCar will just be doing a cash grab'.
Given Rosebud has a lot of retired people, I feel for many of them that they would just go with the mechanics recommendation even when not required or at worst repairs required are 'made up'. car also needed a filter and was told the fitting was high because it was 'difficult to replace', have since been shown it was a 1-2 minute job.
I cannot recommend MyCar and will not be returning, over inflated and unnecessary work suggested.
