Disappointing

My review earlier today:
Careless: packaging was 4 times the necessary size.
Disappointing: after A FEW HOURS the knife already required sharpening.

Hello Mr. Barnes,
Thank you for your review.
We're truly sorry to know about your disappointment. We have communicated your feedback to our warehouse so that future shipments with small products are not sent out in such big parcels.
As for the the knife losing its sharpness, the knife that you chose is unfortunately a model that do require to be honed quite often due to the fact that its blade is made of a "soft" steel, which explains why it has a low price (£6.90). Nonetheless, if honed frequently, it remains a reliable tool ideal for domestic use.
Should you have any further inquiry, please do not hesitate to get back to us by sending us an email to...
Kind regards,

My subsequent response:
Thank you MyChefKnives for busting my anonymity by using my name in this public forum. If I had wanted to share my name here, I would have done so myself.
I'm glad you've let your warehouse staff know how to properly parcel a small item. It's unfortunate they didn't know what they were doing when they parcelled an item the size of 2 Bic biros into a box big enough for a 12 pack of beer.
Thank you for reminding my that my purchase was for a low-price item, made of soft steel that needed regular honing. I suppose if your description had included this additional information, I might have chosen something else.
The thing is, like my email to you stated, the knife needed sharpening soon after first use. I'm really not sure how 3 tomatoes and a handful of potatoes can blunt a brand new knife so quickly, but of course, what should I expect for a mere "£6.90".
Perhaps I should grow tomatoes that yield their skins to inferior steel a little more easily, or perhaps I should just boil them first?
Thank you for the advice on honing my knife, which as I explained in my email to you today, was bought to replace another Pradel knife which had served me well for many years, without the need for sharpening between each vegetable, prepared in my clearly humble and 'non-professional' kitchen.
I'm truly sorry that I missed your phone call today too. I don't get a lot of calls from France, so I figured your number belonged to some scam company.
Yes, I may have further inquiry, but I await a satisfactory response to my original complaint, which I wasn't even thinking of sharing online anywhere.
I would be glad to return the inferior but very clean knife back to you at some point (!).
Thanks to Trustpilot for not giving me the opportunity to respond to MyChefKnives' reply. I got around that by cleverly amending my review later on.
After spending so much time on this matter, I really fancy a sandwich, so I'm off to bash my tomatoes into submission with a mallet.
Equally condescending regards,
Mr BARNES

Excellent triple AAAA service

Excellent triple AAAA service, tracked my knife from France, it arrived perfect, the exact model and is the sharpest and most amazing metal, the sabatier x "V" 50 knives are about the sharpest longest lasting knives i have ever found to date, mychefknives are a hidden gem of a supplier, expert at their thing, would use again for sure, although these knives last a long long time

Hadn't realised that actual knife was coming from France. Not a problem in itself, just delivery was a little longer than expected. But still reasonable

Quality products

I used “MyChefKnives” because there was a large selection of good quality knives. The prices are competitive, with some good ‘package’ offers. I was not expecting my knives to have to be shipped from abroad, which did make it rather a long wait to receive them.
