The sales tactics for this are similar to used car salesmen, push you to make a decision with only showing “benefits” and no negatives. Also generally pushy, gave weird energy, really pushed the religious guilt angle.

In reality it’s just standard debt settlement with a religious blanket on it. For student loans they essentially are adding your riba on to your principal while you take a credit hit and you’re still paying off the same riba with a different name attached to it.

The difference in the amount you settle for goes to their pocket. That’s the business model.

Your payments will be almost identical to existing debt (not going away any sooner) while damaging your credit history they pocket the difference.

Could be worth it for credit card bills but it’s the same as any standard debt settlement company. No need for the “riba free” angle. I’m not sure what percentage other companies take.
