I guess I can put up with the bad customer service wait times and ongoing updates causing issues with the product. It was the cheapest one out there with the 50% off yearly subscription for Business P... See more

I started a 14 free trial and at the end of the trial I tried to cancel my subscription. Cant do it online so I called the 0800 and stayed on hold for more than 30 mins then I gave up. Service is so poor its against the law by not allowing customers to cancel.

I asked to cancel my account before trial finished. They ignored my request. After I was charged, I contacted them via email, phone, liveChat (AI), liveChat (Person).
Despite promising a refund, nothing happened. I have not used a single feature of their service and they ignore (yet receive) my emails. I am tired of wasting time to get my money back.

Signed up for a "free" 14-day trial, called & cancelled ONE DAY after signing up, they have since charged my credit card & informed me I am unable to be refunded as I needed to provide 10 business days' notice before the next charge date. No such thing as a free trial then. The software itself is also absolute garbage

tried to cancel free trial day before due for renewal- never used the software-
told on easter weekend about renewal- closed all of easter- hence day before.
Waited 40 minutes- guys said he couldn't cancel and put me on hold and "accidentally "hung up on me.
Called back - waited the 30 minutes again - was advised it would be cancelled- asked for a case number 0295840 as it seems like this company is incompetent.
Charged next day.
Called back- waited 40 minutes- told that billing will call me in 4 days (monday) Today is monday.
Called back - waited 30 minutes - told that the account still has not been cancelled so can't transfer me to billing- sat on hold 50 mins - gave up and put in an ACCC complaint instead.
I'm done with you dodgy ahles.
Don't bother commenting- go fix it.
To everyone else here go complain to the ACCC

I signed up for a free trial which, naturally, required me to enter my credit card number. As I approached the end of the free trial period, I tried to cancel, as the software just wasn't for us. It was then that I found the ONLY way to cancel is to phone them. And, of course, they NEVER answer the phone. You're just stuck on hold forever before they cut you off. There is no way to cancel your subscription, which is a pretty deplorable way of conducting business. Don't start a free trial - just don't.

One year ago, I signed up for a trial of MYOB Solo, but it didn’t suit my business. I missed the cancellation deadline and was charged the annual fee. I initially requested a refund, which was declined, and I accepted this outcome and proceeded to cancel my account via their call centre, as required.
It’s worth noting that cancelling MYOB is unnecessarily difficult. You cannot cancel your account yourself; you must call their call centre. I completed this process and moved on, assuming the matter was resolved.
This year, on the day my subscription was due to renew, I received notice that I would be charged again within seven days. This came as a complete surprise, as I had already cancelled. It appears that cancellation was never processed, and my account remained active.
When I contacted MYOB, I was told there was no record of my previous cancellation. Regardless, I know I cancelled. I am now being charged $99, and my objection was dismissed with a reference to their terms and conditions requiring cancellation at least ten days prior to renewal.
What is particularly frustrating is the lack of any renewal reminder. No email was sent ahead of the charge, despite the significant increase from the initial trial fee. A simple notification would have prevented this situation entirely.
Instead, there has been no attempt to resolve what appears to be a failure in their own process. My account has now been cancelled after the renewal date, yet I am still expected to pay for a full year of a service I do not use.
A more reasonable and customer-focused approach would have resolved this quickly. DO NOT USE MYOB

Software has many limiation, they just attract you signed up free trial, when you want to cancel, they taking time accept request wait until finish 14days. After that answer like you have requested after 14days so refund possible.

They make it impossible for you to cancel. They don't allow you to cancel online, and when you try to call, they put you on hold forever. I've tried calling multiple times and each time on hold for 30+mins, and had to go to meetings so had to hang up...
I was trying the free trial, decided i'm not ready yet as we're still hiring.. and was planning to reactivate my subscription when ready... After this horrible experience, i'll be looking elsewhere..

Terrible software. Thought I needed to move on from Quickbooks but didn't realise how easy QBO is to use. MYOB was a nightmare to navigate. MMC migration company were fantastic, prompt and informative so absolutely no blame on MMC, but just doing something as simple as adding a new product to inventory was excruciatingly hard. In the end after an hour I gave up. Funny how I didn't need to watch a tutorial to do it with QBO! Didn't sleep for two days wondering why the heck I was thinking trying to change software. You then have to call up just to cancel your subscription, really inconvenient. You can sign your life away directly online but have to talk to a sales person when cancelling. If I had just done the trial I would have seen it wasnt for me in 2 minutes. My mistake. MYOB should call up the team at QBO or Xero and ask how to design a better, friendlier user interface. If you have been using QBO and feel the need to look around, don't. Cheers.
I am a bookkeeper so use a number of different software to facilitate clients accounts.
I had a new client come onboard that had an MYOB file that he let laps in May 2023 so only 4 months ago. We needed to get information from this file and have been told they only hold the file for 60 days and you can not access it even as a read only file.
No other company do this. They have said that its the agreement my client signed up to as he started on a trial but he held that subscription for 18mths and was paying $53 for this subscription.
No other software company do this. I can usually access read only files at least.
I will no longer recommend any of my clients to MYOB and will be recommending any that I have that are using it to consider moving elsewhere.

I use MYOB for nearly 20 years (administered nearly 30 company licenses, another 50-60 licenses have been purchased by our partners/clients following my advice), however my recent experience is worrisome. After trial period, on 1st August we purchased AccountRight licence, and since then for nearly 5 weeks we have not able to use it: initially it took nearly 3 weeks to authorise the file and now can’t process inventory transactions in purchase ledger and record recurring journals! With no support offered, the only solution for us to terminate service! Shame, as I have been very loyal user for so many years!

I run a small business and had paid for a full version of MYOB Accountright in early 2019. I initially purchased the "free" trial version which had the online "bells and whistles" associated with my desktop application.
I had setup the connection with my bank so transactions could be synchronised and viewed in the app. Once the 6 month "online" trial period expired, they had blocked access to my desktop application and I had to call them to see why I could no longer access the desktop app.
After spending a couple of hours in a queue, and then explaining to the support person I was not interested in paying monthly fees for online access, they removed the online portion of my purchase and the application was a stand alone desktop app which is what I always wanted.
Fast forward the clock to 2022 - I tried to enter an invoice today and this was not possible. I called the support and spoke with a rude person who was extremely unhelpful and quite short with me. I provided my serial number and she laughed and told me my purchase had expired!
Say whay? Are you serious? I purchased a product that has a very poor GUI, is buggy at best, continuously crashes and now, without even any form of notification to be told my purchase has expired is a slap in the face.
I feel, you, MYOB unequivocally and absolutely deserve the 1 star ratings and appalling reviews you have been receiving.
This is yet another example of corporate greed at best.
All I want is a simple program where I can add invoices and customers and keep track of expenses. Is it too much to ask?
Shame on you MYOB, and your corporate greed.
I have been placed in a new queue now to speak to someone from the AccountsRight team. It has been 47 minutes and counting. My position in the queue has been "8" for the past 38 minutes or so.
hi i wasnt able to confirm my company file online automatically. i went on online help and was served by Waaka. He was extremely patient as well as very helpful. he sent me the link for an online phone confirmation and then also guided me how to do the same. i explained i wasnt in a position to spend anything at the moment and he offered us a 1 year free trial for the new version as well.
