My experience with Total Health…

My experience with Total Health Dentistry and Dr. Gregory A. Spielmann was underwhelming. While the office was clean and the staff friendly, the dental care fell short of my expectations. Dr. Spielmann seemed rushed during my appointment, and I didn’t feel like he fully listened to my concerns. The treatment plan felt generic, lacking personalization, and I didn’t see the improvement I hoped for. Additionally, the billing process was confusing, with unexpected charges that weren’t clearly explained. Overall, the experience was mediocre, and I’m hesitant to return or recommend the practice to others.

We have no record of you every being a patient in our office. You say you did not see the improvement you had hoped for... what procedure(s) were actually completed in our office? Our treatment plans are always individually created to address the specific treatment needs of each patient. We also give each patient a detailed breakdown of charges - including procedure codes, the charge associated with each code, estimated coverage by insurance (if applicable) and patient responsibility. We are also happy to answer any questions patients have. What charges did you see that you did not understand? Did you request clarification? We are always happy to discuss a patient's account with the patient to provide clarification whenever requested.

In order for insurance to cover dental procedures, they require that x-rays be sent to them along with the dental claim. There are times when x-rays taken at other offices can be used, but if they are not of diagnostic quality (perhaps because the x-rays taken at the other office did not capture a good image or we only received low-quality copies) it is possible that they may need to be retaken. Patients always have the option to pay for procedures out of pocket rather than filing with insurance, in which case x-rays are not always necessary. Our assistants work diligently to be as gentle as possible and make the x-ray process as comfortable as possible for each patient. There are times when discomfort can be experienced - especially when there is excessive infection in an area that is creating extremely high levels of sensitivity. We will always do whatever we can to make patient's comfortable, and as stated previously, patients always have the option to pay for dental work instead of filing with insurance which can sometimes limit the need for certain x-rays.
