Xmas Lunch Chaos

Sadly not a good experience. I chose this pub/restaurant because of previous good experiences here. Not this time.
I booked my meal for 12.30. I was served my starter at 13.05. Lukewarm tomato soup 🥺, the soup was tasty but nowhere near hot enough.
I ordered the butternut tart, however I was rudely informed informed there wasn't any left(I had ordered this when I prepaid for the meal)& was told the other non meat vegetarian options were Salmon en croute( definitely NOT vegetarian) or a cheese based tart(not vegetarian either) & would 5 minutes. 15 minutes later this had not appeared. I was then told someone would take this to my table ! I got to my table with my now barely warm vegetables, to
find a server delivering the tart.
My dessert was served timeously & was hot but the custard was barely warm.
By this time, just after 14.00 the restaurant was absolutely packed, with no tables available & people standing shoulder to shoulder
The servers were working flat out & I felt sorry for them, having to thread their way to customers waiting to be seated or queuing for the carvery.
I wasn't happy with the Chef's attitude to his customers & his staff.
Down to the management's lack of planning. How can food options run out 1 hour after the start of serving !
I will have seriously consider having another festive meal at this pub/restaurant & probably not bother

Absolutely shocking we’ll I will start…

Absolutely shocking we’ll I will start with the pre meal drinks one glass of Flat Lemonade at £4.20p and another £4.25 for a pint of Carlsberg lager, No meat evident in the pie just thick mushed gravy type filling with a rock hard inedible pastry topping, Fish & Chips soggy type battered fish, Lasagna again very poor quality no evidence of meat and at over £15 not cheap and finally cheese roast potato with some form of salad accompanied with some dried lettuce, I have had a reply already from the host which was one of,
its not my fault the company make the prices for the drinks and the suppliers are to blame for the poor quality pie filling etc.

Fantastic restaurant!

Fantastic restaurant!
Upon entering, the restaurant is very clean and tidy.
Once in, the atmosphere is very welcoming, very clean and pleasent.
The staff were all very polite, respectful, friendly.
We were served by a lovely woman called Toni. She was very helpful, polite, welcoming, not pushy at any point.
She was able to answer my questions on portion size of the meals. As dependent on different restaurants the sizing variety.
Upon placing the food order Toni checked we had no allergies to any of the menu. This was a big bonus! As I have been in very few restaurants that ask about this. I could hear Toni ask every table the same question. Then acted upon the reply.
The toilets were easy accessable, upto standards on the cleansingness.
I personally found the disabled/baby changing room. Very easy to move around in a wheelchair, upto standards on the cleansingness. Everything was at a perfectly designed level.
The food was delicious! Ideal sizing and displayed nicely on the plate.

I would definitely recommend The Nags Head to anyone.
I myself will be happy to visit many times in the close future
