Deceptive & Fraudulent - BEWARE!

I had a HORRIBLE experience with North American Moving Experts LLC. Initially, the sales representative seemed professional, but soon I discovered they are deceptive and act as a broker, using non-reputable third-party movers. Four days before my scheduled move, they informed me they couldn’t guarantee the date, my original quote was likely too low, and I’d have to pay the movers in cash or money order.

When I expressed my desire to cancel, the customer service rep misled me, claiming I was outside the cancellation window to receive my deposit back. I reluctantly decided to proceed if they could guarantee the move date. I never received the promised follow-up call, and after multiple attempts to reach customer service, I was told my move would not happen on the promised date.

Eventually, I learned the name of the movers—G&M Moving—whose terrible reviews prompted me to cancel. North American refused to refund my deposit despite clear evidence of their misleading practices.

North American's F rating with the West Palm Beach, FL BBB reflects their lack of accountability. Avoid this fraudulent company at all costs!

This company is the largest Fraud operation.

This company is the largest Fraud operation I have ever run across. They have $11,548.81 of my hard earned money and to this date have never moved a single item. My move day was supposed to be Sept. 28th, 2023.

Because they don't own any equipment they subbed my move to "We move 4 u" who subbeld the move to "Halls moving", who subbed the move to three local guys, Hakim and his two buds. Hakim shows up in a box van that has no markings on the side, its old, beat up and I ask to see his permit to travel interstate. He does NOT have that. I get a U-haul, pay local muscle to load my U-haul and drive it from San Jose CA to Colbert Washington. I call the people at We move 4 u and fire them, and fire N.A.Moving Experts.

They did not provide any move service, they rip me off, and are fighting to keep the $6,044 I paid to the credit card company that was put into dispute.
This company shoud be run out of town on a rail.

These people are lying scumlbags and should be put out of business for fraudulant practices.

This company also goes by North…

This company also goes by North American Moving, LLC and Bright Star Moving. The original quote was raised 3 times. They then assigned my move to Prime Movers who packed up my apartment on May 30, 2024 and I have not heard from any of the companies or seen my property since that date. They do not answer calls or return voice mails. The address on the contract is a furniture store in Michigan. Total scam!!! Sorry I found out too late.

RUN DONT WALK!

RUN! The most dishonest company in the world. Thankfully my husband is a lawyer and my brother chief of police. They are not movers. They will promise you one thing and lie about it all. They will SCAM you. RUN FAR AWAY.

It deserves NO stars

It deserves NO stars, not even 1! Do not use this company no matter who they contract with! The ulitmate shyster is the owner of Mak Elite transport. This guy is mafia, if you even see his company refuse to do business with him. Everything about this company is a BAIT AND SWITCH. I was forced to receive delivery on a Sunday and pay in cash! This shyster calls me on a Friday afternoon after the main offices close to tell me that they will ONLY take cash even though (on a weekday pickup) they took a credit card AND all the paperwork says credit cards are used! So, obviously a way to make sure the charge isn't canceled by angry customers and he can pocket the $$! It was a total nightmare, my boxes look like a gorilla was throwing them around and I can only imagine what I will find inside. This company is the WORST, do not use them under any circumstances. DO NOT trust anything they say. I was literally just robbed of a s*&-ton of money!

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE

I booked my moving through North America Moving experts (which in itself was a horrible experience) and they hired another company that outsourced to Hermes Moving and Storage without letting us know. So if you read these reviews and decide to go to another company, I recommend asking WHO will handle your stuff and if they outsource their work.

I had requested moving from California to Seattle for 1 bedroom, first they come and ask for extra money and keep changing the quote every time. They will never do a house tour, one representative, Christina contacted me first asked me for the list of items which I provided them. Then on the day of move, they survey and tell me you're exceeding the sq ft storage capacity and charged an extra 500$. Okay fine, on with it, they say that your delivery will be done in 5-6 business days and I accordingly booked my travel, but then no calls, no one answering any call. The delivery came after 25 days!!!!!! I didn't have a home or any bed so I had to take favours from my friends until the delivery arrived, and then they come here and ask for another 500$, just for assembling back my items (which btw was already included in the initial cost).

In summary don't use North American Moving Experts or the Hermes Moving company at all.

Worst Moving Company EVER

This company TRULY does a bait and switch. I personally have moved at a minimum of 13 times (twice to Europe-non military) and this is the WORST experience ever. This company quotes you the price then subcontract you out to a trucking company that neglects to keep a manifest of your belongings and shows up with your stuff mixed in with others belongings. We had to have them remove everything from the truck to try and find OUR things which had not been labeled by the company in any order what so ever. The driver asked for the balance to be paid by Zelle to his mothers bank account because he said he had lost his phone! Did the money MAKE it to the "Moving Experts"???? We'll never know!!!The Moving experts told me my things would arrive in two days to the desired location. We kept trying to get hold of the dispatcher at the trucking company and were told he would call us and never did. We were told we would be contacted 24 hours before they were going to deliver our things. They called us at 10AM one week later and said they would be there in two hours and they didn't get there until 4:30PM. So much for the 24 hour notice. I am SERIOUS, stay away from these people. Not one person called to ask about our move and never contacted us after the contract was signed. Their customer service people are trained to be rude and illusive!!!! Just can't write ENOUGH negative things to say!!!

Read the negative reviews

Read the negative reviews. They are all true. This company does the bait and switch. The person quoting lies and tells you one price. Then they raise the price when they "confirm" your items. In addition, they contracted it out to someone else , not their own trucks. When that person comes, they hold your stuff hostage forcing you to sign an elevated price. Basically tripling your original estimate. As stated in other reviews, customer service does not help at all and is incredibly rude. Stay away or be aware you will bay 3 to 4 times the amount you were quoted.

Will definitely use again!

Excellent team at this company. Everyone I spoke to were very friendly and customer focused. They took care of my move as if it was their own, and were always available to help with my questions. Delivery on the day went smoothly. I received a text message 20 minutes before they arrived so I knew they were on their way, which was greatly appreciated.

Great job!

It was a hard-moving day. We moved in the rain, and they wrapped all of our furniture in plastic. They were very fast, and worked very hard. The price was great, and nothing was lost or damaged. Very happy and satisfied. Thank you for the easy move even when it was raining.

Bait and Switch. Do not trust this mover. They give you an estimate for a move which is less than half of the actual charge

I was given a price of $2434 for my move but the company said i had too much stuff and i had to pay $6,100 to get my stuff delivered to florida; i was not told the higher price until all of my stuff was on the delivery truck. I had little choice except to pay. My estimate of $2434 included 2 triple dressers and a large vertical cabinet. None of these 3 items were shipped. I was expecting a rebate but instead was charged 2.5 times their original estimate. this is like bait and switch. this company should have its license revoked for cheating customers. i did some research after my move and discovered that this company regularly cheats its customers. I have filed a complaint with the DOT asking that this mover's license be revoked.

Scam

When I booked our move, I measured every item and gave it to the salesman. They’re very much in a hurry and there’s a reason why. They don’t want the exact info. The scam is getting minimum info about your items up front. This way when you verify your load 2 days before your move, they tell you that your items will take up more space than they do. Tried to raise my price 2 days before move $2,400. I refused to accept their assumption because this is our 2nd move in 2 years and I was just the subject of the same scam then and knew what they were trying. I sent the largest U-Haul ahead with a full load of items that they had on my list. I literally had 450 cu/ft less, 27 less pieces than they had on the original list that we were “verifying”! The girl on the phone, Kristina said “fine, I’ll take it back to the original list the salesman made but I can tell you on a recorded line that it will not fit the truck so that is your problem” then she hung up on me. They get very upset when the scam doesn’t work as planned it seems? Anyway, truck showed up 3 days later, a day late, and they started taking photos of my stuff and calling HDQ then approached me saying you have 3 heavy items so we need $500 more. One was a plastic chest with some garden hoses, one was a hide a bed chest, and the other was a Husky tool chest which I was told to leave the tools in. They had all measurements and I moved all of these items into our home with ease 2 years prior. It was the day of the move and they wouldn’t load my late truck until I agreed to pay the extra $500! So I did, at that point they know you’re stuck. To sum this up, they then took until 730pm at night to load the truck, it was 1/3 empty after all my stuff was in it which was well within the est 1600 cu/ft so we closed it up and left. The next day I get a call saying they will be at our destination tomorrow at 2pm. I arrived to the home at 2pm and waited. No call! I called every number I had but no answer! I then later that night had someone call me saying they “missed a call from my number”. So I asked where the truck was? Now about 7:45PM. He said they won’t come until next day between 8am and 10am. Truck showed up at 10:30am and driver said his helper would be there in 5 minutes. 90 minutes later a car pulls up with 2 guys hired through a temp employee agency (which is funny because when I booked this move I asked if everyone was an employee of the company and was told for sure they were). We’ll it was obvious now they were not. Because of my lack of trust by now, I asked the driver to open the truck before I paid the final 1/3 of the moving fee $2500. Driver said no he can’t do that, against policy so put me on the phone with his boss and I was told that if I didn’t pay before they opened the truck, they wouldn’t unload it. After an hour of arguing and watching the Sun drop even lower I paid. It was now 1PM. When he opened the doors I looked inside and realized they packed another move behind mine. They literally threw that persons move in our yard to get to mine. It took multiple hours, they never staged the home as promised, they didn’t put everything back together as promised and multiple items were damaged badly. To the point that nice dressers are ruined along with many other items.

Moving is a stressful time and they take advantage of that and screw you the best they can. I do not yet have photos of all broken items but I do have some photos of the peoples stuff they threw in our lawn and a couple other pics that show the utter carelessness they operate with. The insurance pays pennys by the pound. So a 40lb dresser ruined will get you maybe $10 (never mind that it’s $500 to replace) after a very difficult claim process (they make it as hard as possible). In the end, they got me for an extra $500, sent my load with a non English speaking person, and ruined a lot of our furniture.

They misrepresent who they are, (They are not North American Van Lines) they screw you at the most vulnerable times possible, and they DO NOT GIVE A RIP about your stuff. They hire temporary help (many look like they’re straight from prison with missing teeth, tattoos, street clothes, body odor, and no professionalism. But I will say, at that they were better at the job than the driver himself. The driver was an elder Arab guy on his last few breaths smoking pack after pack of cigarettes leaving the house smelling like an ashtray. Do yourself a favor and use PODS or similar service so you can move it yourself, or hire an actual reputable company. This is not a company that will ever get another penny from us and they are not finished with me yet. We are seeking legal help now. Better luck with your move.

Amazing!

They got in touch with the lowest quote. They were very friendly and easy to deal with and helped with everything I didn't understand. It was an extremely smooth procedure. The delivery arrived quickly and with no damages.

Brokers and not movers, they are scammers

I wish I could give negative stars for the nightmare that using this company was.
As others reviewers have pointed out, this company is not to be trusted. They are excellent sales people (Josh) who will assure you up and down that the quote are accurate as long as the inventory is accurate, that their company is handling the move (false- they are brokers who subcontract out the moving to smaller companies some of whom have terrible reputations), and that if there are any issues they will help you resolve them.

I was quoted roughly $3K for moving a one bedroom apt worth of furniture from Texas to NYC. I gave a highly accurate count of inventory, infact I overestimated and was told by North American that the quote can end up being less if the inventory is less so it's better to overestimate. It ended up costing me nearly $10K when all was said and done and I sustained damage to many of my expensive items.

I was told again by customer service, that the discrepancy in the quote vs. what I paid can be handled via claim if my inventory was accurate (it was). I followed all the instructions given and was initially told it's no issue to get my money back if I follow the process.

Once I started submitting claims through the websites provided, it turned out none of the claims services supported the moving company Flash Boys Moving LLC. The movers were completely non responsive to my numerous emails and calls on how to follow up and submit an insurance claim for the damaged items. North American was equally unhelpful, the customer service representatives range from rude and unhelpful, to nice but have zero information on what to actually do.

I have now found out after months of follow up that Flash Boys Moving LLC is out of business. NA said they were acquired and to call this new number. I called the number- it was a dispatcher saying this company was never acquired and it's out of business and bankrupt so there is no recourse.

Somehow, as a customer it is my fault that a company I did not select, and was assured backwards and forwards is a North American Moving company not a subcontractor, is out of business and I was charged nearly triple over what i was quoted and my items are left damaged.

Do not trust this company.

Bad listening

Company had me sign 2 bill of lading, and when they showed up w wrong truck (no hydraulic lift gate) I was upset. They actually told me I need to sign a third bill of lading or they wont get the right truck! Now I lost my deposit $1126.00, and they said I shouldn't have fired them!

DONT USE THEM IF YOU VALUE YOUR $ AND TIME!

If 0 stars was an option that’s what they would get… HORRIBLE! DO NOT USE THEM if you value your money, time and sanity. They refuse to give a straight answer, they’ll say anything to appease you even if it’s a lie. They pass you around from phone # to #. Basically it’s a bait and switch tactic, do not get scammed by these people!
