I hired 1st national to move my belongings it was the worst

I hired 1st national to move my belongings from NJ to Texas. They brokered our move to other companies. The company that picked up was great. Everything was packed nicely. By the time our belongings arrived, it was a crap show. Our King sized mattress looked like it was dragged on the floor, when it left it was in plastic and wrapped. Our Furniture was all scraped. Our Recliner loveseat is torn and rickety. One of our televisions is unwatchable. I filed a claim and they offered $98, arrived they kidding.

Do NOT Hire Them

This was the worst moving experience and company I've ever worked with. My belongings came over a month later, my moving coordinator contact number was an inexistent number halfway through the move, and when I finally received my things, so many things were broken (standing desk, dishes, two dressers, etc.). On top of that, the truck didn't come to my apartment. Within 30 minutes I had to rent a Truck to pick everything up in a random parking lot, then I had to move everything into my place. I paid for the movers to unload everything in my apartment, as well as an extra fee for the stairs. Didn't get a reimbursement on that.

When I tried filing a claim through the moving insurance, there was no response and the phones would ring for hours, not even go to voicemail.

The most unresponsive, money-sucking, customer last company I could imagine working with. Do not hire them.

Bait and switch

Bait and switch, upcharge, misrepresentation. Says it all. They must have people sitting all day writing 4 star reviews on google because everywhere else they are horrid. Wish I had read those.

Absolutely horrible service

Absolutely horrible service! Please do not use these movers. I scheduled my transcontinental move at least two weeks in advance and I was dealing with a representative for at least a month before my scheduled move. No one contacted me from the company the day before moving day. When I contacted National Movers to confirm my move, I was told that my move had been rescheduled without any explanation. When the movers arrived they initially refused to dismount my TVs which National Movers stated was part of the service. Then they failed to tell me that there is an additional $250.00 fee for equipment. Everything was completely disorganized and I was nickeled and dimed every step of the way. I’m yet to receive my $100.00 inconvenience fee for missing my move date and I doubt they’ll keep their word because they haven’t thus far. I’ve moved at least eight times due to military and federal government assignments. This is the absolute worst company I’ve deal with.
My advice is you get what you pay for. Stick to the reputable and nationally known moving companies. They are professional and organized and will be forthcoming about the price and costs associated with the service.

The National Movers located in Florida

The National Movers located in Florida, is a scam. They will get your money and after that they will sell you to a company called Smart Movers Logistics in New Jersey. These are worst. A nest of bandits. They will highjack your belongings and start asking for 3 times the original price of the quote (Obviously once they pick up your stuff). Be careful. It has been the worst experience in my life. Both companies are abusive and disrespectable of the minimum behavior of decency.

National Movers ARE NOT MOVERS

Zero is my rating. National Movers ARE NOT MOVERS. They are brokers that sell you all the warm and fuzzy things then pass it on. I fell for that on 4-6-22 and still do not have my furniture. And company #2 won't answer the phone now, I don't even know who the company was that took it from company #2.
My things were picked up 4/13 in MI taken to Ohio for 20 days. Picked up 5/2 and headed to Calif. Nothing as of 5/16.

Broken furniture and no accountability!

I used this company for an out of state move on 6/23/2021, delivery 6/25/2021. Everything was going well initially, Carol was responsive and the move was coordinated quickly with a quick turn around. But after delivery I have 4 pieces of furniture that are damaged and/or broken. In an initial conversation Adam yelled at me, insisting that he took the legs off of a piece of furniture because it was lose and it was not broken. First this is a lie because Adam was not present when my items were moved from my storage unit, so it is not possible that he did anything. Second I was at the storage unit with the two movers the entire time and the piece went on the truck whole. I reached out to Adam (the owner) and Carol (the dispatcher) and they requested for me to send pictures and an email of the damaged items. I did this on Friday 6/25/2021 the day of my delivery. I had not heard anything back on 7/1/2021 so I sent a follow up email and received a dismissive and not professional email from Adam (picture attached). I am awaiting a financial resolved to this issue based on the signed contract and will be filing a claim with the BBB. Movers be ware, they may get your things there quickly but if anything is broken they will avoid holding up the contract!

Seriously Terrible

Seriously Terrible

Avoid at all costs. Two guys came to move my home that took 5 people min to move out. Scratched everything, made me pay extra to move items to second floor. I ended up having to help them move because one of the movers didn't work. Terrible!

The worse movers on the planet and…

The worse movers on the planet and nerve wrecking, since only one of the three movers wore a face mask while packing and moving; during a pandemic. The National representative miscommunicated two very important points. One he didn't tell me the movers would come a day early to pack before the move. I asked the movers several times to pack unopened cleaning products and my shower rod and they didn't, they broke my computer desk. The representative also told me to pay Montway car transport on the day my car arrived in an email and that's not the case. It's been 5 days and I don't know where my furniture is in the moving process. I signed up for full service moving; moving furniture, storing furniture and car transport.

Overall bad experiance

I got caught up by sales rep. as before booking they promised to get it picked up and delivered from Texas to Tennessee in 12-14 days. As they was not the cheapest one however I found them the quickest one, and that was my only buying point.

I don't know how but somehow they manage to take wrong inventory even after confirming twice. So, at pickup time, their driver created a big fuss and they suddenly increase the price by around $500. And when they saw me going crazy, they gave me discount around $250. But I still had to pay around $250 on top my original quote.

Now 3 weeks are gone, running into 4th week and still no information of my stuff to get delivered anytime soon. Even customer care has no idea that my stuff is still sitting in Texas warehouse and moved from there.

Very disappointed by overall experience. Will never use it again and will never recommend to anyone else.

Recommend!

My son organized this move for me as I was so busy with the new house, so I didn't have much contact with the movers until the day of the move - but I was very impressed with what I did see and it confirmed the positive things my son had told me about his experiences with the company in booking. The foreman and packers were facing a huge move and they put in a lot of work, which turned out perfectly when they arrived with everything in exactly the condition in should be. I recommend them completely.

Took extra care with my rarer books

I wanted a large quantity of books moved as I was transferring my secondhand bookstore after my wife and I decided to relocate. I knew I could never pack everything up myself so I ordered all the boxing done for me as well as the loading, and they did great work. They managed not to mix up the books too much so it made the shelving of the stock much easier at the delivery end, which I was very grateful for. It was good, professional work, including taking extra wrapping for the rare books.
