Woke comments and an attack on national hero’s. National trust scum hopefully get defunded to the bone.
Thanks for visiting Trustpilot. Unfortunately, we've had to temporarily close this page for new reviews. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Woke comments and an attack on national hero’s. National trust scum hopefully get defunded to the bone.
Preparing for a holiday in Kent and looking for places to visit- why is it that English heritage properties all appear fully open ie Down house, Deal and Dover Castles, yet Chartwell and Walmer Castle are still grounds only? Very disappointing.
My refund has been made so only fair to give good feedback. However I will never ever use NT's services again.
Did they honestly think that moving all their negative comments to a caravan park would work!? Unbelievable! Why didn’t they take note of the comments? instead they are trying to bury them.
National Trust have moved their vast number of negative reviews to a caravan site and set up this new site to hopefully pick up some positive feedback. Unfortunately I think they are going to be disappointed.
We have cancelled our membership after more than 10 years due to their really bad leadership exacerbated by the current covid crisis. No automatic discount on membership even though the sites were completely closed for 3 months, ludicrous booking system to visit vast empty parklands, houses still closed, paths closed and others one way. Please national trust review your operations to restore the goodwill that the people of the UK have had for you for many years, but which is disappearing fast.
National trust have moved all their negative reviews to a caravan park. Pathetic. I have copied my review to this location!
At Calke Abbey they have implemented such ludicrous OTT measures like blocking paths, making others one-way, limited bookings to enter the park. However when we visited today the large parkland was virtually empty. We have been members for almost 20 years but this is the final straw for us won't be renewing and I suspect from talking to others that we are not alone.
I used to really like the National Trust educational inspiring fabulous days out value for money. Unfortunately over the past 5 years or so they have invested in so many woke campaigns and been led by not one but two overpaid CEO's who are completely out of touch with their membership. Keep going I thought it is bound to get better. Sadly with the covid crisis the trust has plumbed new depths with its ludicrous booking system to visit wide open spaces, closing footpaths and not giving automatic discounts on its membership despite being closed completely for 3 months. Have spent so much money in your cafes and shops over the years but will now be taking this business elsewhere. Please change but unless you clear out the high earning managers and replace with leaders who have a bit of common sense and life experience you will continue to hemorrhage members.
Why have all the National Trust reviews been transferred to Castle Ward Caravan Park? Is this a way to dodge people seeing all the terrible reviews that have been left by loyal followers and frustrated members ? I’m not sure I approve of this practise.
I have a current membership renewed in March and fully appreciate the difficulties faced in trying to open properties to the public. However I am also a member of Historic Houses and our local house (a large stately home) opened 10 days ago for guided tours. If they can do it why can’t the National Trust ? We members receive emails extolling the benefits of membership etc but no information about where or when any property is going to open its doors. Gardens are nice to see but I would like to be able to see inside houses which is why I joined the Trust. Come on National Trust get moving or you may be losing another member !
What a total scam this company are. They have redirected all the negative reviews to a caravan park. Trust Pilot please investigate this. NT are no better than dodgy double glazing salespeople. They have take. Our money and offer zero benefits and are now even scamming Trust Pilot. I have reported to Martin Lewis website and Daily Mail
Been a loyal member for over 40 years and am very disappointed that the NT has shown its members no loyalty. Haven't been able to use my membership since the start of lockdown and am unable to book a visit as all the slots have gone - not that I want to book a visit in advance as the decision to visit an NT property always depends on the weather. Even though the NT was very quick to take my money it completely disregarded my request for an extension of the expiry date. We understand it is a charity, but we join in order to see your properties and gardens - not just to give money and get nothing in return. Like many others, have cancelled my direct debit and decided not to renew.
P.S. This review was originally on the National Trust Page, however, somehow the name of the company on that page is no longer "The National Trust" but instead the Castle Ward Caravan Park. All of the 372 original reviews for the National Trust are now all under the Castle Ward Caravan Park.
I suggest that everyone who originally reviewed the National Trust on the former National Trust page (now the Castle Ward Caravan Park page), copy and paste their reviews to this page
The National Trust is for the most part a great organisation and I have enjoyed being a member. The way they have handled the pandemic this year leaves a lot to be desired. I have just cancelled my membership and I can tell you now it is not an easy process. You can do everything online except cancel. You have to call them and it has just taken the best part of an hour to get through to them. They made all kinds of excuses for not being able to do this online but try searching for details on how to cancel and you won't find any. They have purposely made this difficult and I really don't like that.
