AVOID AT ALL COST SCAMMERS BY HAVING THE word auction in their company name even though you didn’t buy a car at an actual auction they voids Consumer Rights Act 2015 CLAIMS
I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding a recent vehicle purchase from the Stoke branch of Nationwide Car Auctions Limited.
Within two weeks of acquisition, the vehicle entered limp mode and required recovery. During assessment by The AA, multiple fault codes were identified. A subsequent health check at a reputable garage revealed significant issues, including:
- Passenger nearside wheel bearing failure
- Both rear lower arm bushes worn or damaged
- Offside rear shock absorber leaking
- MAF sensor malfunction
- Over-fueling issues attributable to a questionable remapping
- Excessive oil leak from the timing chain cover
Despite numerous attempts to contact Nationwide Car Auctions Limited via email, text, and phone calls, my communications have gone unanswered. Although a three-month warranty Wise package was included in the purchase, I have been unable to make any claims under this coverage.
Furthermore, I have documented evidence of my efforts to resolve this matter, including confirmation emails from your complaints department acknowledging receipt of my complaints, screenshots, email correspondence, and recorded voicemails.
Given the lack of response and support, I am compelled to seek assistance from the Citizens Advice Bureau and Trading Standards to explore my options.
It is disappointing to experience such issues, particularly when purchasing a vehicle with the expectation of fair and transparent service. I also advise potential customers to exercise caution and conduct thorough research, as some positive reviews for the dealership may be artificially generated or manipulated to make them look good
The warranty document falsely claimed service were completed 2 weeks after purchase. This situation has been reported to Trading Standards, the Police Fraud Team, Citizens Advice Bureau, Martin Lewis, and WatchDog
I purchased a car from this dealership…
I purchased a car from this dealership within a week of the purchase, the dashboard lights started appearing. Upon taking it to my mechanic, it was clear that the car was in poor condition and will require significant repairs, which will be quite costly. I have attempted to contact the company and the sales advisor via email multiple times but have received no response, and it appears that their email address is not genuine.
Despite several attempts to discuss negotiations or resolve the issues, I have been met with silence. Additionally, I believe some of the positive reviews posted online may be fake.
Overall, I strongly advise potential buyers to stay clear and not buy any vechiles from this dealer. It seems they are selling cars that are in poor condition, merely resetting codes to hide underlying problems. Have reported.

Over the moon with my purchase thanks…
Over the moon with my purchase thanks to Jay. I purchased my new Audi from nationwide car auctions over the phone and had the car delivered, everything was as described and delivery was on time and no surprises when the car arrived, it was even better in person than the photos, Jay handled all my enquiries and questions and made my car buying experience over the phone a dream thank you for everything will definitely return and recommend all
Amazing!
Amazing! The car came in excellent timing! So quick and efficient. The car runs impeccable and no issues whatsoever. Would definitely use again….and recommend to others!
Treated disgusting
Bought a ford focus from the stoke on trent branch. Come with a 12 month MOT.
A week later the clutch broke. Took it to my local garage to be informed that it was false MOT as the break disks and pads needed replacing, a tire was under the legal requirement. The other 3 will need changing in the next month or so, wheel nuts missing which is a instant fail.
I am still awaiting my actual invoice. I've been ignored since.
I have been treated absolutely disgustingly. I am taking this complaint further.
This company is full of cowboys, who take honest people's money and run for the hills.
I will make sure I tarnish your name and let everyone know to avoid you at all costs.
They don't do a warranty because they know 100% they are selling death traps. They call themselves an auction and have found themselves a little loop hole so they can avoid having to meet customer consumer rights.
I have legal advice and I'm in contact with a solicitor.
I look forward to pursuing not only a complaint but a real look Into your so called auction company.

Nationwide Car Auctions -excellent
The team at Nationwide Car Auctions are amazing. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable with answering questions about the vehicle. I was sent photos and videos with high quality resolution which was helpful because I was unable to view in person.
Our sales advisor Mel went above and beyond to ensure a smooth purchase, even getting back to me after working hours.
We live 7 hours away and they arranged for drivers to deliver directly to my work which was helpful. The drivers kept me updated on their journey and were extremely friendly.
The vehicle was exactly as described and we are very grateful.
I would 100% recommend buying a car from this company.

ROBBERS!
As the mother of one of a long list of duped customers of this sham of a company. I can not stress enough not to touch them with a barge pole, unless you are wealthy enough to lose your hard earned money.
After they failed to adhere to the arrangement of bringing the car for viewing and potentially taking her car in part exchange another arrangement was made. They turned up at 21.00hrs on a November night, too dark to really examine a car in but despite this handicap, it did not completely prevent us seeing all the defects. The car had without doubt been in a smash which they had not declared, but when questioned the guys response was ' I can now see what you mean'
Panels were loose, screws coming through bodywork, mis alignment of panels and missing a front vent panel. This was all identified by torch light so God knows what state the car would have shown in the cold light of day.
Additionally the car stunk of smoke but conveniently the guy had sinus problems!!
He agreed to refund d the deposit at this time but this was as a cowards approach to our faces but since having to take the car back with him he is now refusing on the grounds that she cancelled the sale. But actually he was delivering a car that was not what was advertised as being full of defects and being in a smash, so he was not actually honouring the terms of the sale, by supplying this car . I'm not surprised he wanted to bring it to us in the dark.
My daughter can not afford to lose money, but this company has robbed her so PLEASE PLEASE do not fall into the same trap as she did.
Looking at the star ratings you can tell this is a cowboy operation as you cannot give them zero stars so they have to have one and you can see all the one star reviews and then a handful of fives which must be family or friends as you jump from one to five stars with no in-between ratings.
Another thing a part fell off the car on his way to bring the car over which he said he would post a replacement.
You are better going around in a wheelbarrow than buying a car from this gimmick of a company so please don't fall prey. Be warned.
Never received the vehicle
Never received the vehicle, we arranged a delivery time and then the agent advised he was on his way at 4PM. I was to take delivery for it at 7pm. At 6.45 I received a text from them saying they were stuck in traffic and would be another 2 hours. I waited until 9.30pm and then they eventually advised that the driver was unwell and that they would like to reschedule. I asked for my deposit back and they have ignored my request just offering me a full tank of fuel and discount off the delivery fee.
I do not want the vehicle anymore, I just want my £250 deposit back which they're refusing and now ignoring me.
I should have considered the previous reviews before even paying the deposit but Adam sounded genuine so ignored it. Honestly, you can't trust anyone online these days, be vigilant when dealing with this company.

MASSIVE SCAM COMPANY STAY AWAY!!
MASSIVE SCAM COMPANY STAY AWAY!!
i dealt with a man supposedly named JAY he
lied to me about a car that was clearly broken, went on a test drive something flagged up but he told me not to worry as it wasn’t a big deal as i’d just put my foot down too hard - i even part X my fully working and reliable corsa to him for 5.5k and sent an additional £500! upon arriving home and to a garage there was 10k worth of damage on the car that needed to be fixed and of course nationwide car auctions terms and conditions loophole every law so even the courts can’t do anything! ABSOLUTE JOKE COMPANY STAY AWAY AT ALL COST SCAMMERS!!!

Initially I thought they were good
Initially I thought they were good. Exchanged 2 of our vehicles for a car which we thought was a fair deal.
Since the exchange, we have received penalty charges for both vehicles, the most recent being driven around Birmingham with the van still being registered to me over 3 months later. I normally deal with the paperwork, but my partner did on this occasion and yes he was at fault for giving the whole of the log book, but when you are dealing with "professionals" you would not expect them to sell your vehicles still keeping you as the registered keeper where people can get you issued speeding fines, unpaid congestion charges and threatening letters from the DVLA! We also had to chase them for our logbook.
Severely disappointed and would not recommend. Has been more hassle than its worth

Outstanding customer service
Outstanding customer service, even delivered the car to my door due to car being in wrong location, lady who dealt with payment was amazingly patient as we were having issues with bank and sat in our home over an hour after delivering the car late at night, your company is amazing

Faultless and supportive service throughout!
I honestly can't fault the service I received from Nationwide Car Auctions in Stoke on Trent. I have never bought my own car before, from the initial enquiries, to arranging payment, part exchanging my old car and organising delivery, it was so stress free and I felt reassured throughout the entire process. I am one happy customer with a lovely new car.
