Scary schizophrenic monsters
Horrible schizophrenic nasty monsters as nice as could be for the 5 years I spent thousands of $ then turned extremely aggressive when I tried to return a $16 supplement as a survivor of childhood trauma I'll never go near that place again.
Their customer service is garbage you can send an email with no reply or leave a voice mail I don't leave voice mails.
CONSTANT OVERCHARGING
CONSTANT OVERCHARGING! WHEN BROUGHT TO EMPLOYEES ATTENTION THEY APOLOGIZE AND HESITATENTLY REFUND! THEY LOST A CUSTOMER BECAUSE IT KEEPS HAPPENING.....BUYER BEWARE!
Update - 2/2025 - Went in to buy eggs and candy. OVERCHARGED AGAIN. NOT SHOPPING HERE ANYMORE. They shouldn't take advantage of their customers like this. I don't trust them anymore.
Company is racist
Company is racist. Management has no racial diversity. Store will racially profile customers and treat them unfairly and rudely. Lack of professionalism, ethics, safety and intelligence. If your Gay or Trans, they will treat you great, but if you aren't white, its only a matter of time before something racist will occur with management patting each other on the back.
Horrible service
Horrible service, empty shelves, store looks horrible, store in Austin on Lamar
Please prioritize your valued customers…
Natural Grocers is one of the few healthfood stores that attracts kind customers. I feel good in the store. It radiates wholeness. My only disappointment is that they don't provide a place to sit and eat lunch. I live 1 hour drive from Albuquerque an typically spend the whole day in the city. I need a place to land, eat lunch and relax a bit. Most places that provide these features serve unhealthy food. Would it be possible to provide such a place for truly healthy minded people? I try to avoid supporting Whole Foods. I mentioned this to the store staff, but they express their concern about attracting homeless people. Why are they even allowing homeless people to hang out at their store if they are not buying anything? And at the same time depriving their valued customers from.much needed support and a sense of community? This sounds like catering to homeless people. Please know that the majority of homeless people already receive free meals and a place to sleep. Most of them are rebellious souls, with the exception of the few that became homeless because of bad circumstances. The latter typically get back on their feet within a year. The help for homeless people does come from churches and other nonprofit organizations. Your job is to provide quality products and customer service to your valued customers. You have the right to refuse anyone to enter your store. That is a fundamental right. Stop listening to ridiculous Woke fake discrimination theories. Let's be clear, most homeless people are mental patients and need to be approached that way, with compassion, firmness, and strong boundaries. I am asking you to please do your job as store owners. Thank you:)
Outdated refund policies and poor customer service
Outdated refund policies, and history of incorrectly pricing items listed for sale as one price while charging full price at register. This has happened to me twice in the handful of times I have shopped at an Oregon location. The first time I let it go. The second an item was supposed to be discounted 50% and I contacted the store who told me I'd need to bring the receipt back in person (not going to happen. I live out of town only visiting this city when I have medical appts.) I was given corporate's number who only further bungled and frustrated me with numerous calls/emails to fix this minor mistake on an item <$20. I included detailed photos of the still sealed item listed for sale as one price and my receipt being charged full price.
Corporate offered me a gift card, but after all this I told them I won't be returning to shop and wanted only the overcharged amount refunded to be done with this situation. They pushed back until I told them I'd be contacting my bank for a partial charge back with the same proof I provided to the company. Then magically they were able to send a check via snail mail, received 2 weeks later.
This was really about principal for me, as they made a basic error (although multiple times) and put the burden on the customer to fix their issue. Updated policies are needed. I see a lot of seniors shopping in this location and I'd recommend to everyone (especially those on fixed incomes) to check receipts prior to leaving the store to make sure this company isn't ripping you off.

I rated this store high because I have shopped there several years. I lived in TX but have relocated NM. I still shop there and over other stores. Years ago I chose Naturals because I had more than a dozen negatives with Whole Foods, most unfortunately whole food, food poisoning.
Honestly I've had the rude employees and been followed at one or two NG but maybe because Ive built friendships at each one I've been to I keep going. We all expect perfection. Personally I expect quality, transparency and safety.

The store in Overland Park, KS
The store was very beautiful. It was beyond clean and everyone that worked there smiled at me.The floors were spotless and it was quiet in the store . There was no loud music.
They had lots of options in the frozen section. There were some premium brands. for example, Stahlbush Island Farms. Plus many single serving entrees.
Unfortunately they had a very small fresh produce section. It was nicely organized with the fruits and veggies though.
I was puzzled because I thought that would be their strength—having lots of fruits and vegetables is what I wanted and expected in a natural food store.
It was very expensive-more so than Sprouts, where I usually go.Frozen vegetables and meals were just too much for me. I can justify a single frozen entre for over $8-9. Like I said, Sprouts is high priced. Many entrees are $7 but they do mark them down.
Also the cheese section was sparse.
They did have lots of health and beauty items. Tons of supplements and vitamins and lots of makeup and hair products. They carried really cute greeting cards including some from local artists.
If they ever get produce that’s fresh, they might have more customers. I would definitely consider this store if they did carry seasonal fruit and if the prices were a bit lower. Like a few dollars more.I was the ONLY one in the whole store for a few hours. It was kinda sad that no one was there and five minutes away the Walmart Neighborhood Market is super busy. The store truly deserves a look and more customers. They have put so much effort into the care of the store.

If I can rate this store a zero star I would. I feel so uncomfortable shopping here. Seems like everybody is watching my every move like I am going to steal their merchandise. I was shopping for supplements but I feel so uncomfortable that I just bought sage, vitamins and an essential oil. They probably experience a lot of theft but common don’t be so obvious in following your customers. I feel like because I am Asian, I am targeted and profiled like I am going to steal something! I am really upset!
Rude employee is too much
I have shopped at Natural Grocers for years off Preston and Forest in Dallas. A few months ago, a new employee, Nyah, was so rude and mean as I checked out, I was taken aback. I tried to be kind and jovial back as every other employee knows me and is sure to say hello and find out about my day. She has stayed rude every time I happen to be there when she is checking out people. And get this, every time she will say "God bless you" as she hands me my ticket, like somehow this makes her ugliness ok. It's so odd. I finally have had enough. She wouldn't even answer as I approached her and said hello. She had this seething anger so I said, I think I'll just go to the next cashier. I did, complained at her absolute rudeness, but to no avail. I am sad to say, I loved all the other employees, but I will not be going back.Who treats people like that and who continues to hire such a person?
Their coupon links never work
Their coupon links never work. The whole Npower program is a joke -- even if you're member, they require you to click to load coupons. Really? And of course, being not particularly intelligent monkeys who they are, their coupons send you to non-existing web sites. They must be still living in the 1950-s and have no clue how to use the Internet.
Poor CS at Relo Store in Albuquerque
I went to the Natural Grocer store on Wyoming and Mongomery in Albuquerque on Wednesday March 6th. I forgot my 25% off coupon. I am a loyalty customer and asked if they could just just scan their store coupon. I went through a cashier, a manager, and a store manager. The SM found it easy to say (No). I sent a longer version of this complaint with all the details through their App on March 6th. It showed successfully sent. I never received a response. I called the customer service number on March 15th and left a message stating I would like to discuss my experience with someone. I left my email and phone number. I have yet to get a response. I have spent a few hundred dollars or more since the 1st if the year. I left the purchase I was going to get on the 6th and have not been back since. I sure would like to hear from the DM, Regional or someone from Corporate, untill I do/if I do, I will shop on Amazon, or at Whole Foods or Sprouts.
Regards
Sale items out of stock
Salida, CO store. Way too often, sale items that we’d like to purchase are NEVER on the shelves. SOLD OUT! The People are nice but the store is always understocked. Today alone: everything on my list was unavailable! no eggs, no salad, no arugala, no peanutbutter nuggets, no Cherry Juice!!! Forget buying a sale item…..gone. SERIOUSLY??? Whats the point??? I often drive an hour to Canon City to find sale items. By the time I count gas & drive time, it’s not even worth it

You don't need a receipt in most stores for returns. They do it by credit card transactions.
Natural grocers require a receipt for all returns.
Horrible customer services
Natural Grocers
Natural Grocers - Coal Mine and Kipling
They mischarged me - way too many times.
Bought 3 chocolate bars natural grocers brand for 1.99 each. I handed them 3 - 1,00 coupons - my bill should have been around $3.00 plus tax. She said no - that I owed $6.00 plus tax. I have been shopping there for many years and the customer service and the store is the Number ! - Worst Store in Town. They do not care about their customers At All. I am done - will never shop there again. Trader Joes is where I shop and they are the Best store in Town.

I was very disappointed to walk in to my favorite "indie, alternative" grocery store, and to hear trashy rap and pop being played. Why not match
the music with the intended environment? Hippies shop here, so play music that we resonate with- Joe Cocker, John Lennon, ect. The contemporary horrible music completely ruined my shopping experience. Don't we hear enough of that crap everywhere else? Give us a break!
Nonsense Alcohol ID policy
Nonsense Alcohol ID policy
We fully understand an ID policy for someone purchasing alcohol but not for everyone (or spouse) in a group! This is nonsense, serves no real purpose and is at the least an overreach and inconvenient! The STORE policy allows sale to an adult with minor (young adult, teens, etc.) but not to 2 obviously older (60+) adults! They want ID from ALL adults. This store is not about customer service, commons sense, but only ridiculous WOKE ideas. Will shop elsewhere as I am sure they will not miss our $800+ a month.
