Nepal Climbing Adventure was established to give summit climbers a sensation of achievement without the risks of fatal situations we see on the rise today. We are well aware of the fact that no matter how hard we will try, this is trekking and climbing on some of the most rugged territory on planet earth; and mother nature, despite its incomparable beauty, can be a monster when least expected. Are we the only ones concerned? Perhaps, a few others are too, but when you’ve been operating high altitude expeditions for a pretty long time and witnessed some of the worst, it kind of gets under your skin, pushing you to find ways to prevent these dangerous mishaps as far as possible. Nevertheless, we’ve reckoned if you can’t solve the problem, at least try to manage it.

Professional and well organised - super experience!

I am a female trekker, who did the EBC trek from the 10th of October to the 22nd with Pasang, my Nepali Sherpa.
I used the services of Unique Adventure and felt in very good hands right from the beginning. I can highly recommend this agency ( owned by Khum Sabedi ) to other female trekkers and of course to anyone who loves to embark on a trek.
I really appreciated the fast reply to all of my mails as well as the pick up service from the airport, where Krishna was holding a sign with my name rather than the name of the company. I have to add.. there are heaps of people waiting outside the airport and it felt quite stressing after almost 24 hours of flight.
The hotel was close to the office and the main backpacking area, and it was definitely easy to find my way around in Thamel.
Flight and trekking permits were organized before my arrival. Even though I didn't felt at ease to transfer so much money to an bank account in Nepal, it turned out fine and wasn't of a problem.
Personally had I only experienced troubles with the pick up taxi to Lukla and back to the airport, which is probably not Unique Adventures fault, though it happened to me 3 times. Khum and the hotel did their best to sent another taxi straight away.
All in all I had a great trip with Unique Adventure, and would happily use them again.

A truly Unique Adventure

From the moment I landed in Nepal, Unique Adventures guided me through a once in a lifetime journey. They worked within my time frame, provided me with ample information and set me up with an amazing guide. During the trek I made some adjustments after meeting other trekkers, and they adjusted the itinerary to accommodate me. I couldn't have picked a better trekking company. Everything about the adventure was unique. Thank you Khum, Nawang, Chris and the rest of the Unique Adventures team.

PROGRAM NOT COMPLETED

THE HIGHEST TREK IN NEPAL WITH AMPULACHALA PASS IN ORDER NOT TO COME BACK THE SAME ROUTE BUT TO CROSS TO KUMBU VALLEY.

WE REACHED THE SUMMIT IN 8 DAYS INSTEAD OF 9 BECAUSE WE CLIMBED DIRECTLY FROM KARE (5000M) TO HIGH CAMP (800M IN A DAY) WITHOUT STOPPING AT MERA LA PASS (5400M), WHY?
- IN ORDER NOT TO SPEND 2 NIGHTS IN A TENT SO I GOT A HEADACHE !

AFTER THE SUMMIT WITH A GOOD WEATHER (I WAS LUCKY) WE CAME DOWN TO KARE INSTEAD OF GOING TO AMPULAPCHALA PASS, WHY?
- I THINK IT WAS ALREADY PROVIDED INITIALLY BY THE GUIDE BECAUSE 2 PORTEURS HAVE NEVER CLIMBED ABOVE 500M, THEY VOMITED AT HIGH CAMP
AND ESPECIALLY BECAUSE NONE WEARED MOUNTAINEERING BOOTS COMPATIBLE WITH CRAMPONS (EXCEPTED THE GUIDE), THEY HAD SIMPLE SHOES SURROUNDED WITH STRING!
SO IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO CROSS A PASS WITH ICE AT 5300M !!!

THE GUIDE DIDN'T TRY TO GO TO SEE THE SNOW CONDITIONS AT THIS PASS WHILE I HAVE PAID FOR THAT PROGRAM...
INSTEAD, FROM LUKLA I WALKED 7 HOURS A DAY FOR 6 DAYS AND I TOOK A BUS (10 HOURS) TO COME BACK TO KATMANDU WITH 1 PORTEUR WHO DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH AND WITHOUT THE GUIDE.

Mera peak : the highest trek in Nepal is not a technical climb, you can reach the summit in 9 days from Lukla, the last day only 4 hours is necessary to be on the top, you just have to follow a daily vertical higher of 500, 600 meters (walk only in the morning), with only 2 nights in tent. The view is unique and wonderful. In May the rhododendrons are in bloom!
Lovers of the mountains will not be disappointed. But the temperature is very cold, it often snows, you need to wear a big jacket and to have a good sleeping bag, there’s no heat in the lodge and no shower: if you want it you have to pay. You eat rice, potatoes, noodles, eggs, soup, and drink a lot of hot tea. The guide gives you goods advices not to have a headache.
Katmandu is a very big town, a difficult city to live: too much polluted, noisy, dirty and crowded but you need to see in 2 days Durbar square, the Indian and boudhiste temples and Baktapur borrow. You will be welcomed by Kum the director very friendly and attentive in a nice hotel and the restaurant is good with dances in traditional dress!

Professional, helpful and experienced - highly recommend.

I booked a trek to Everest Base Camp in April 2014 through Unique Adventure International. The owner, Khum Subedi, was a pleasure to deal with and arranged with all the necessary permits/flights/reservations/etc. This allowed me to focus my energy on getting to Everest base camp. The porter and guide were also courteous and very attentive to my needs during the trek. Due to bad weather my flight to Lukla was cancelled but the manner in which Unique Adventure dealt with the situation by rescheduling me onto a flight the next day (which made it) impressed me.

UNIQUETREKS: An absolutely advisable Agency

José Miguel Goñi
SPAIN

“In the autumn of 2013 we contracted the services of Uniquetreks c ompany . We climbed Mere Peak on October 13. Our initial intention was, once finished the climb of Mera, go to Hinku valley and cross the Amphu Lapsa to arrive Chukung. Unfortunately, the second part of our trekkng was not possible due to the great quantity of snow fallen during the 13th and 14th of October.

With regard to the Agency Uniquetreks, we have to say that the service was very good, with a limited price, which makes the relation quality - price excellent. The guide (Sherpa Llacpa) is a very high qualified professional, who knows the route very well, as well as the possible ways of approximation. To come to Honku's valley, we follow an alternative way to Khote, not crossing Chatara pass, which was very beautiful one, despite the bad weather.

The rest of the team –Nima, Phuri, Pasang, Norbu, and Tzambo-always with an exemplary behavior. The food has been of sufficient quality and quantity at all time. The manager-Khum Subedi - always bore in mind any suggestion for our part.

Definitively, it has been a very positive experience with an absolutely advisable Agency

Thank you Unique Treks and Nepal for the trip of a lifetime!

Have just completed the incredible Lower Mustang and Annapurna 8 day mountain bike trip. One word... mindblowing!!! As a single traveller, Khum, Chris and my guide Sagur have made this trip better than I could have imagined! Unique Treks have also gone the extra mile to help plan my last few days and make the most of my short time here. I love Nepal, it's people, the mountains... And I can highly recommend Khum and his team.

Great company, very well looked after!

From the moment I arrived in Kathmandu that company looked after me. Khum and my guide Ram were always quick to see everything was to our satisfaction.

The trek was well planned, and an incredible experience. The guide was knowledgeable on the region and it's culture and was able to answer any of our questions immediately. He was also a very friendly person and enjoyed sitting down to dinner and sharing some drinks and stories.

Overall very satisfied, had a great time with the trek, many thanks to the team at Unique Adventure International.

A very professional company that keeps clients interest as a priority.

I went to Mera Peak in the autumn of 2013. As a single female trekker, I felt taken care of and respected at all times. The crew: Dawa, Lakpa and Purgiozen treated me like their little sister and were most helpful during the hardest stages when I was trying to recover from a severe cold.

Unique Adventures and Khum Subedi played a key role on getting me out of Lukla after the trek, when the weather was continuously bad and flights were cancelled and delayed. After waiting in Lukla for a few days, they managed to book me into another flight back to Kathmandu.

Thank you all for taking such good care of me.

Everest North Side Advanced Base Camp 6500m in 2013 was good trekking

My friend traveled with Unique Adventure several years ago. So, it was an easy choice for us, when we decided to reach Advanced Base Camp (ABC), 6500 m, on the North side of Everest. We just contacted Khum.

Unique Adventure is a Nepalese company. To arrange trekking in Tibet, the company collaborated with the Tibet Kyunglung Travel Service, making sure that all necessary logistics is in place. With their well coordinated efforts, we became legal in Tibet and smoothly crossed the Chinese border in both directions.

We had a Tibetan guide, Paldin, responsible for booking and transportation in Tibet. We also had a Nepal Sherpa guide, Tenging, who arranged a permit to the ABC 6500m on the North Face of Everest and with his small crew and yaks helped our successful trekking (see everest6500.com), while providing us with food and comfort to the degree possible above 5,000m.
Thank you, Khum, Paldin, Tanging!

What else could you expect?

We did the Mustang Trek as well as a Tibet trip with Unique Adventure and had a really brilliant time.

From the beginning of my correspondence with Unique I had a good impression about the company. They responded very quickly to my inquiries and offered a competitive price for both trips.
Our time in Mustang was amazing. It's an unbelievable landscape and everything was well organized. Our guide Krishna and our Sherpas (those guys are my heroes) helped as a lot and made the trek very smooth for us. Thanks to them.

Our trip to Tibet was also very well managed. The handover to the Tibetan guide went smoothly and we had a nice time in Tibet. Let's hope they will get their freedom one day.

I can definitely and 100% recommend Unique Adventure and I will use their expertise if we will return to the top of the world.

Thanks a lot, you made our trip an unforgettable memory.
Namaste, Christoph

I love this company

I was on a 12-day Mera Peak climbing with Unique Adventure International, Mar 18 to Mar 29, 2013. We started from Lukla and ended up there.
My original itinerary was to go Mera Peak, then take Amphu Lapcha and finally climb Island Peak.
I consider myself very lucky about the offered price; Mr. Khum.Subedi (director) had offered me a very competitive price for my trip. Unfortunately, the way to Amphu Lapcha was almost closed with very deep snow and would be very dangerous, so we deleted the Amphu Lapcha & Island Peak due to the snow and time frame.
This trip involved 2 days of tenting on high camp at 5800 meters. All other days were at lodges, which really helped me avoiding AMS, and also to enjoy the good food, and hospitable people.
For the climb, UAI provided a Sherpa guide (Lakpa) and 2 porters (Mondok and Pasang).
The trip involved taking 4 days of trekking to get to Kothe, 3500m, from Lukla. This allowed me plenty of time to acclimatize to the higher elevation; the highest pass we came over was around 4600m at Zatrala Pass. Along the way we saw beautifully blooming rhododendrons and magnolias and different ethnic group villages. By the 7th day of trekking we were camped on the high camp, 5800m, and ready for the final push to the summit.
There is very little technical climbing but I believe Mera is a hard ask for most people.
Additionally Mera can be prone to receiving very bad weather. A big dump of snow can ruin everybody’s chances of getting to the top. Crevasses can also be a problem.
I and Lakpa were up by 3:00 am; the weather was very windy (blisteringly cold wind), and all the way up we were trying to hide our faces from the tiny ice particles that hit with the wind. Deep snow was one of the toughest obstacles you may face after high camp; snow in this time would be fresh and virgin. Crevasses were everywhere, but we were twisted by a safety rope together…so no problem!
Summit day is huge. We summitted Mera Peak at 11:00 am and got back to the high camp at 13:00. The view from the top is one of the best in Nepal with Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga all to be viewed.
Do not underestimate Mera.
I think UAI does an outstanding job in making the trip safe and comfortable. The guide, Lakpa, is friendly, and very knowledgeable. The itinerary allowed one to acclimatize and give a best chance to succeed on the summit day. I would highly recommend using UAI.
For myself, after trekking in different countries (Iran, Turkey, India and Nepal) during the past three years, and summiting Mount Ararat and Mera Peak, I am planning for Ama Dablam Expedition on October 2014 with UAI. We are looking to form a group for this expedition.
If anybody feels like to join me, you may contact me at my email address or Facebook.

Would not recommend. They charge expensive and deliver cheap

My friend and I went to Poon Hill in early March of 2013 and our experience was unsatisfactory. The trek itself was good but considering the price we paid, we should have gotten better treatment. Our itinerary was changed and we missed out on a lot of the tours and meals but were never compensated. Our guide was not professional as well and left the two of us trekking alone while he sped off to do his own thing. I don't mind trekking alone but when I pay for something I think I deserve to receive it.
