Save yourself the trouble and go to an actual reputable and ethical breeder.
Attempted to buy a "miniature" dachshund puppy, but ran away after reviewing the botched records we were shown. Actual weight of their "miniature" is 19 pounds. Advertises puppies for sale that are not even theirs on gooddog which was supposed to be some great place that vets breeders, what a joke! The breeder sent us a doctored test result record on the parents and the only "vet" record for the dad was screenshots of vaccines done at fricken Tractor Supply and of some female dog not even the same name that's 8+ pounds bigger than than they advertised the mom as being. We had to ask multiple times for some type of health records on the parents and when they finally shared them, there was no dog name attached and they left off nearly all of the Embark results, talk about shady. The communication was poor given how many times we had to ask for simple things like whose records they'd even sent screenshots of and then the breeder acted like my partner was the problem for pointing out the lies about the mom's size when they lied about it multiple times and then even updated their profile including a weight for the mom that was still 3 pounds smaller than the vet record showed. Miniature dachshunds are NOT NINETEEN POUNDS! I did ask to speak to their actual vet's office when they put me in touch with whoever actually breeds these dogs and I called their vet, Dogwood acres Vet clinic, and the parents have never been seen by an ophthalmologist, the mom is not OFA for anything at all, and the person who I spoke with said vaccines from Tractor Supply and other cheap pop up clinics are something they question every time they see it and they said they recommend to their clients to restart any vaccines given at those types of clinics. Everyone knows not to go to a supposedly "reputable" breeder that uses Tractor Supply for their dog's "healthcare". So glad my partner knew to ask all of the right questions. We definitely dodged a bullet. Save yourself the trouble and go to an actual reputable and ethical breeder or go to the pound if you don't care about the health of the parents of your puppy.
P.S. Demand their puppy contract first too, I have never seen such a horrible contract in my life. They can send the puppy home with giardia, coccidia, and fleas and you can't send them a vet bill to treat those PREVENTABLE things??? WHAT?
