Top notch service
I want to share my experience with Michael Bigley, who provided what I can only describe as top-notch service throughout my refinancing process. In my experience, I have never had a loan officer be so thoughtful or cover as many bases as Michael. He consistently went the extra mile to ensure every detail was handled, and he was incredibly gracious and patient, even on the rare occasions when I was the one in error.
What impressed me most was his level of professionalism. He never made me feel like my shopping around or asking questions was personal. In fact, while I was able to find a slightly better rate at Rocket, I ultimately chose to bring my business to Michael and New American Funding because I trusted him. He truly listened to me, respected my understanding of the process, and treated me like a partner rather than just a transaction.
Michael is the sole reason you have my business today, and he is exactly the reason I would recommend your company to others. I am placing my hope in the fact that the rest of your team maintains this same level of high competency.

Great Customer Service Still Exists
NAF were so responsive,from the moment I first spoke with my loan officer to when we closed escrow. The support was amazing. I especially appreciated being asked how much am I comfortable spending per month on my mortgage. That really helped me decide which homes to consider purchasing. But most of all, the communication and explanation of each step, terminology, and any requirements was soooo helpful. I call the NAF staff who helped me with my loan "The Dream Team". My experience with New American Funding was outstanding from start to finish. The entire home loan process was made significantly easier thanks to their organized, user-friendly online platform, which allowed me to upload documents, track progress, and stay informed at every stage without confusion or delays.
A major highlight of my experience was working with my loan officer, George Nguyen, and loan processor, Serei Prak. George guided me through every step of the process with patience and clarity. He made sure I always understood what was happening, kept me updated regularly, and consistently reassured me whenever I felt nervous or uncertain. His communication and steady support made the entire experience much less stressful and gave me confidence that everything was moving smoothly.
Serei Prak was also excellent as the loan processor—detail-oriented, efficient, and responsive. She ensured all documentation was handled accurately and in a timely manner, helping keep the entire process on track and moving toward closing without unnecessary delays.
The communication from the entire New American Funding team was excellent throughout. I always felt informed, supported, and never left wondering about the status of my loan. Combined with the convenience of their online platform and the professionalism of both George and Serei, the process felt smooth, organized, and far more manageable than I expected.

I had an excellent experience working with New American Funding during my recent home purchase. I made the decision to switch lenders in the middle of the approval process, which left us with a very tight 10-day window to close. Naomi and Peyton were outstanding throughout the entire process. Horrible Experience with NAF. Use Rocket Mortgage
Our experience with New American Funding was extremely frustrating and disappointing. What should have been a straightforward refinance turned into a nearly 4-month ordeal filled with delays, poor communication, repeated requests for the same documents, and constantly changing information.
We worked directly with Sean Redmond (loan agent) and Kip Weston (supervisor), and throughout the process we were repeatedly told we were close to closing, only to later be hit with new conditions and underwriting issues that should have been identified much earlier in the process.
We submitted documents multiple times, including income verification, employment information, insurance updates, and explanations requested by underwriting. There were long periods where calls and emails went unanswered, and different representatives often gave conflicting information. We even escalated concerns to corporate customer service because communication had become so poor.
One of the most frustrating parts was watching our loan estimates and closing costs continue to change while the process dragged on month after month. We were led to believe issues had been resolved several times, only for new requirements to suddenly appear later.
Ultimately, after months of delays and loss of confidence in the company’s ability to complete the refinance competently, we withdrew our application and moved on to another lender.
To make matters worse, New American Funding later responded to our CFPB complaint by placing the blame almost entirely on “borrower documentation,” while ignoring the repeated communication failures, underwriting reversals, and unnecessary delays that occurred throughout the process.
We understand refinancing can be complicated, but transparency, organization, and communication matter. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Based on what we went through, I would strongly caution others before using New American Funding.

NAF was an excellent lender, highly recommend
Arnold (our loan officer) was personable, and was always willing to work with me to make sure the mortgage fit my needs. He was accessible, and I never felt like I was an inconvenience or he was trying to rush past me to someone or something else. He checked in and helped explain things several times during the process, and has worked us through to a successful home purchase twice now (even when we felt like the odds were stacked against us). Even when a difficulty came up one business day before closing, he spent extra time on the phone with us trying to get what we needed to make it all work. He has done a great job with us, and I would highly recommend him and NAF to anyone considering a home purchase.
