Kai at Newtek, looked at my issue oragmatically and resolved it after multiple calls to resolve. Kai gets a 5 Star, Newtek gets a 4 Star. Everything works great once setup but it took a lot of patience before we got there with our company. There are definite advantages to Newtek vs other banks and im goong to stay with them because of that. And Kai showed me they do have quality thinkers in support vs script readers and the typical zero effort or care from other places. KAI is 5 Star. Newtek, give Kai a raise , he solved a recurring problem in minutes.

Ja’Kira was very helpful in sorting out our problems getting our account set up. We are an elderly couple and our problems stemmed from our difficulties with technology and memory lapses. Have had a CD for several years and just opened an additional savings account. Working with Michael Mann was awesome, very quick and efficient. Use the online banking site and app. Can download transactions to Quicken from site but not able to download from within Quicken with one step.

Newtek Bank offered the highest APY 6 month CD I could find. Signing up and funding the account was straightforward and the app was easy to use.
Phone calls were always answered by pleasant and knowledgeable customer service reps, and messages were returned in a timely fashion with accurate information. Ja’Kira was the best!

Very disappointing experience working with Newtek Bank and loan specialist Angel Stuckman along with her team, Jonathan Ripley and Cristian Torres.
We were initially pre-qualified and promised a fast closing, which is why we decided to move forward with the process. From the very beginning, we clearly explained that we were not interested in any loan requiring personal real estate collateral. Despite that, we spent weeks submitting documents, answering repeated requests, restarting applications, and constantly following up with very little communication.
What made the experience even more frustrating is that after all the time, paperwork, and back-and-forth, our application never even made it to underwriting. Emails regularly went unanswered, promised follow-ups never happened, and we were repeatedly told things would be sent or updated only for nothing to happen.
As business owners, we understand lending takes time, but basic communication, transparency, and professionalism should still be expected. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and a significant amount of our valuable time was wasted.
Very frustrating and disappointing overall.

I am updating my previous review to share a concerning development. After posting an honest critique of my experience with Newtek Bank on public forums, the bank unilaterally terminated my personal relationship. When I called to inquire why my access was suddenly revoked, I was told the bank had decided to 'terminate the relationship' effective immediately. The representative refused to provide any details, ignored my questions, and abruptly ended the call. Potential customers should be aware that this institution appears to monitor social feedback and may close accounts in retaliation for negative reviews, leaving you without access to your capital without warning or explanation.
Ja'Kira made designating a beneficiary very easy. She told me what information was required, I sent that, and it was done.
