Not great!

Mostly sub-standard performances, extortionate bar prices and small, old fashioned ladies toilets (not sure about the men's!)

Misleading "No Booking Fee" Claim – Additional Insurance Charges

I was initially pleased to see "No Booking Fee" advertised when searching for tickets. However, during checkout, an additional £4.55 per ticket can easily be added by mistake as "insurance payment protection" – with no possible way of rectifying a genuine mistake. This feels like a duplicitous way to claw back the advertised discount although I'm sure the designers of the platform will think it creative.
Worse part of user experience was when I called customer service immediately after I pressed the wrong button, they were unsympathetic, claiming it was simply "too late" for the system to do anything about it - it was the limitation of the booking systems, faceless and emotionless that was the reason why they can't help you with your mistake.
No human beings making decisions nowadays.

The play we went to see was excellent…

The play we went to see was excellent although the layout of the seats meant pot luck on having a good view of the stage. My daughter was charged £22 for 2 glasses of red wine which I find disgusting. I queried this after with customer services and got no reply!

LOVELY AND HELPFUL STAFF AND SO ACCOMMODATING

I went to see BAT OUT OF HELL MUSICAL last night with my sister and because I have a Walker the staff were so helpful and they had a place where I was sitting for any walkers and after the show had finished one of the staff took us back through the way we came in and we thanked them at how kind and helpful they were. I have no bad words to say about them at all!

Masks! What Masks!

I have just returned from a Pantomime performance at Wimbledon Theatre which was really good. Shane Ritchie was brilliant. Several performers had had to be replaced because they had COVID. I wonder if it is a direct result of the relaxed attitude to mask wearing.
My one star relates to the COVID protocols, or lack of. To gain entry everyone had to provide evidence of vaccination status and that’s where it ended. Mask wearing is not enforced and that’s where my complaint is focused. Wimbledon theatre should state clearly when booking that when you enter their theatre mask wearing is not mandatory and will not be challenged. Probably 25% of the audience were not wearing masks or they were slung under their chin. I feel angry and aggrieved that I have been put into a situation that was not COVID safe and secure. I didn’t feel that my health and safety were paramount. Just because people have been double vaccinated along with a booster doesn’t mean they can’t catch COVID. I speak from personal experience.
I feel that the theatre industry, particularly in the present climate, are part of the problem. Encouraging people to attend performances and putting them at risk. They should be lobbying the government to make mask wearing mandatory in theatres like on public transport. Sadly I feel unable to book any more theatre trips until my health and safety are clearly respected.

Booking tickets for disabled adult.

I have a disabled son who loves to see musicals so I have accompanied him dozens of time. I have always paid full price for our tickets. However as we try to give my son greater independence I want to organise him going with his carer. I have spent over an hour trying to find out what the discount provisions are for a disabled person and their career are. Website is next to useless, there seems to be some kind of Access Membership I will need to register my son for but seriously unclear if this is just a marketing ploy. Phone numbers they refer you to are no longer in use when you finally via phone calls to the wrong line get referred to a line that deals with 'access tickets' bearing in mind my son as no mobility issues, you're left hanging on the phone with no indication as to when it might be answered. So far it's been over 60 minutes.
My recollection is that the Disability Discrimination Act says that disabled people can not be offered less of a service than those who don't have a disability. This appalling lack of information and booking facility clearly falls well short of the booking service available to customers who are not looking for disability provisions. Outrageous in this day and age.
