I bought the Nordisk Halland 2 LW on…

I bought the Nordisk Halland 2 LW on sale, but even with the discount it was still pretty pricey. The tent is very lightweight, which is a definite plus, but it wasn’t as spacious as I imagined. For the cost, the overall quality didn’t feel as impressive as I expected. It’s a decent tent, but I’m not sure it offers the best value for the money.

Extremely disappointing especially for the price

I purchased a Nordisk tent expecting high quality and durability, but it has been nothing short of a major letdown. I’ve taken the tent on three trips, and it failed during two of them, right after setting it up.

Trip 1: Brand new out of the bag, and it broke the very first time I pitched it. One of the poles snapped for no apparent reason.

Trip 2: The tent wasn’t used.

Trip 3: During the second setup, the end points tore and once again the tent was unusable.

For a premium brand like Nordisk, and considering the high price point, this level of quality is completely unacceptable.

You expect solid performance and reliability but what I got felt more like flimsy, cheap materials that couldn’t handle even basic use.

Bottom line: Flashy branding, but the quality just isn’t there. Honestly, it’s embarrassing. Definitely not recommended, I feel ripped off.

Honestly, you’re better off investing in a tent from MSR. In my experience MSR tents are far more durable, reliable, and better built for real-world conditions. With Nordisk I felt like I was paying for the branding not the quality.

Similar experience as previous author

Similar experience as previous author. Purchased a tent through Wiggle. Inner tent had a small hole in it when I raised it for the first time. Wrote, sent pictures and explained what was going on first to Wiggle. Surprisingly they replied that I had broken the tent. Contacted Nordisk directly. After stalling me for almost two months I finally came in contact with them. They also claimed I had made a small hole in my tent. And that to check I should send it to them at my own cost (thanks a lot). I stated I could send back the inner tent (what is the point in sending all of it if only one part is broken??) unless they were willing to reimburse me. However they persisted that I should pay more just to send it back for them to inspect.
Also claiming that it was obvious I had used it??? Which to me is funny. Of course I had used it!!
It was way out in the forest that I discover a small hole in my brand new tent. A tent I had payed more than 600 € for. Then I do not go hiking back just because of a small hole, in the pitch black??
Of course I can put some tape over the hole and make do with the tent (unless it falls apart every time it is being used??? which seems like a real risk when reading others reviews). But it is more about my own satisfaction when buying something that should be top-notch quality given the price. I can actually buy a similar tent from China at 1/5 the cost. If it is broken when I get it... it has the same quality of service that Nordisk offers. But at a different cost.

Norsisk Telemark 2 LW

For my trekking adventures I bought the Nordisk Telemark 2 LW tent. It is a very light tent with a huge amount of space for one person. The tent has it's disadvanteges (condensation and wet feet due to touching of the outer and the inner tent), but overall I was happy to take it with me.
Until I got a tear in my tent near the zipper. I had used the tent for two summers and it was the first time I pitched the tent since the winter (and I had the tent just over 2 years). No one had come near my tent but when I returned I saw the tear. It was not there before, and it is not possible to trip over that point of the tent anyway and I had not pitched the tent too tight. Upon closer inspection it was clear to see that the tear originated from the seam where a lot of extra stiches were made to get rid of the extra bit loose end. Anyway it was not the best stich work in a fragile place, so maybe a construction error. In any case it should not have happend (even though the tent is just more than two years old). Nordisk does not have direct contact with its customers so I went via my retailer. This yealded nothing, they said it was my fault and that someone had tripped over the tent.
Writing Nordisk directly gave no response.
I would not reccomend Nordiks, Yes the tent is lightweigt, but there is no service!
