I’m using the generator right now!

I’m using the generator I purchased as I type. It got here with no shipping problems and Norwall kept me updated until the shipper took over. If there is any reason to complain, it would be the amount of time kept on hold before anyone acknowledged you. Once I connected, could not have been treated nicer or more professional. I’ll refer at the drop of my hat!

Purchasing a generator

I am a do it yourself Homeowner. I am very pleased with the Generac generator 10 kW that I purchased for home. Norwell was very upfront on shipment dates And kept me alert to when it would be shipped. I wish their website would have more information on the transfer switches. Several years ago I installed a manual transfer switch for a portable generator that we had. In trying to research the Generac automatic transfer switches I had a great deal of difficulty finding out how they worked and were wired. I assume they would be wired similar to the manual transfer switch. I discovered that was a bad assumption. Although similar in many ways it’s not the same and there are some major differences in wiring procedure. I purchased the 16 circuit, hundred amp automatic transfer switch (ATS). Most YouTube videos show whole house transfer switches there is little information available on the 16 circuit. I wished there was information telling you had to install a 100 amp breaker in your main box to feed the ATS. Also a statement that NO wire was included. As I you can see from my statements there is a step learning curve in installing a standby generator, it is not for the faint hearted. It can be done , your mistakes can be costly (as copper wire is expensive that is bought too short then has to be purchased again). Also you must have a plan on how you will move the generator to its final location, they are heavy (you tube did have some helpful tips on this) I wish Norwell had mentioned about the two holes in bottom of frame that pipes can be slide through to help transport. With all this said I would buy one again and install myself. (As a matter of fact three of my friends purchased generators from Norwell and I am helping to install those with the knowledge I have acquired. The savings is significant!)

Easy ordering process

Easy ordering process, helpful advice on the phone to answer my questions. Delivered within about three weeks, delivery person brought it up the drive to the garage. I would recommend them.

Had a hard time finding a replacement…

Had a hard time finding a replacement backup generator for mine that went out, looked everywhere and was being told 6-8 months before delivery. I went to Norwall's website found the compressor and within 2 1/2 weeks it was delivered.

Norwall has generators in stock that factory representatives said were 6-8 months out. There was constant communication from the moment I placed my order until I got my shipment. A+ prices and services.

Feels like they don't want to make a sale

The website said the product "would leave the factory" in 1-8 weeks. One to eight weeks? Put a realistic time frame in! I ordered way early to be sure it was delivered by Christmas. Then WITHOUT ANY NOTICE it was delivered like a week later. Surely Norwall could have anticipated that it would arrive within a week. Don't blame supply chains for that. A week AFTER the delivery, we got an email saying it was on it's way. Wha? And the return policy and the pages and pages of paperwork you have to certify you've read are the worst I've seen. You are supposed to open the box and inspect it on the street (the farthest the deliverer will carry it) to see if it's okay? We want to set it up and try it before we know it's okay. I would never order from Norwall again.
