Note Machine in Sainsbury's Darnley

Note Machine in Sainsbury's Darnley, Glasgow - for no reason, the ATM machine retained my card! Horrible service, I called their customer service and they didn't even help! Avoid at all costs

Sainsburys changed atm

My wife went to use machine in Sainsburys. She can usually draw 450 from her overseas bank account. Last visit she could only draw 250 and it charged her £1 just for asking for a balance. Won't be using this machine again. Apparently this company took over from Sainsburys atm.

NoteMachine Still runs on Windows 7

Avoid this ATM wherever you see Note Machine. My bank card got swallowed up and not returned. The machine subsequently booted down showing Windows 7 software. Why oh why are they still using Windows 7 which became obsolete 5 years ago?

AVOID NOTEMACHINE ATM'S IN FUTURE - THEY ARE CRAP MACHINES RUNNING ON OUTDATED WINDOWS SOFTWARE! THE COMPANY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. THEY ARE TOO TIGHT TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE ON THEIR CASH MACHINES.

If you have an international card i…

If you have an international card i would say: skip NoteMachine ATM. They have outrageous access fee and exchange rate markup, in comparison to a lot of other ATMs from different banks we have seen in Scotland.

Also if the screen pops-up with the choice to continue 'with' or 'without' conversion, choose without. It will cost you less. We didn't now that - that's our bad. So, we learned that the expensive way, unfortunately :|

However that doesn't play down the excessive acces fee and exchange rate markup - if you choose to continue with exchange - of NoteMachine. We used another bank and there access fee and rate markup was much lower.

Liars and cheats

Big sign above machine says "FREE CASH WITHDRAWALS". But when I go to make a withdrawal it says it wants to charge me £2.95, but okay. However, it then went ahead and charged me £3.95. Dishonest and expensive.

Cash machine failed to dispense cash

Cash machine failed to dispense cash, £50.00 despite showing that the machine was online. It would appear the machine was empty as I could hear the machine attempting to dispense the cash. When I queried this with the staff at Morrisons Louth they said that the machine was empty. I then asked why no one had placed a note on the machine to deter further use. They replied stating that they were allowed to touch the machine, they directed me to the 0800 number on the machine, but I had no phone, reluctantly they provided a phone, the call only resulted in an automated reply asking me to contact my bank.
I can see from other review my experience is inline with many others, I can only recommend that everyone avoids using these machines and in respect of Morrisons I can only state that they are complicit, they have a responsibility to protect their customers from this company. I will be contacting Morrisions myself to make a complaint.

Don't call in the Clowns they are here

Note machine took over March this led to what must be the Worst service in the World this is no exaggeration every week out of order Ne12 Forest Hall North Tyneside honestly l would be Ashamed to tell anyone l owned this joke of a company dismissal

Worst thing Sainsburys could have done…

Worst thing Sainsburys could have done was to sell their ATMs to Notemachine. No customer service when you try to contact them - recorded message - contact your bank!!! Out of order more often than it’s working and finally - must be having a buffet inside cos it eats more cards than it returns. Avoid and go elsewhere!!!!!

ATM malfunction

I had a similar experience to other one-star reviewers. This was at Sainsbury's, Frome. The ATM would not let me choose an "Other" amount of cash to withdraw and I cancelled the transaction. My debit card was ejected and I left it in the slot as I was telephoning Notemachine to obtain advice. I was part way through the menu of options on the phone when the ATM swallowed my card. Now I have to arrange for a new card. Sainsbury, it seems that you have made a bad choice here.

NoteMachine ATM rebooted and ate my card!

The ATM outside Sainsburies in Gloucester Quays swallowed my card as it decided it would reboot itself half way through my transaction. I was going on holiday that morning and had to leave without a card! I went inside and the duty manager told me they were no longer managed by Sainsburies and this has happened a lot since NoteMachine took over. I will never use it again, and I mean NEVER!

ATM didnt despence £250 & stole it from my account

On 26/03/2025 i used NoteMachine atm to withdraw £250 but the atm rebooted and thankfully my card came out & my £250 did not come out so i checked my account & my £250 was taken from my account i contacted my bank & my £250 was refunded & on 24/04/2025 my bank "stole" taken back my £250 because NoteMachine said that my £250 was despenced.That is a lie that is fraud & i want my £250 back & i have started legal fraud case aginst my bank & ATM company ,the stress this has done to me is crazy its my £250 that is two days work for me & it has been taken twice

Watch out, do not use

Tried to withdraw money from Sainsbury’s ATM in Redditch. Never used before always used Morrisons. I wanted to take out 80£ then at the end I’ve noticed that they will charge me so I aborted transaction and tried again. I find out two days later that I’ve been charged twice. My 80£ is in limbo over the bank holiday reported to HSBC but I have to wait as transaction is pending. Weird. Do not use that atm

I wouldn't even give it 1 star

I wouldn't even give it 1 star. Like a lot of people here I tried to take money out at Sainsbury's Enfield and it was saying to wait and I couldn't cancel it to take my card out. The whole system rebooted and started again and the machine kept my card! All I could do is call the bank to cancel it. It looks like the machines and the company should be investigated because it's definitely not a one-off. Customers in many other places are experiencing the same thing.

Clearly a fraudulent company. With all the reviews on here saying the same thing, I don't understand how they have not been investigated. Avoid at all costs!!!! You have been warned!!

Card was taken

Inserted my card and the machine just suddenly shutdown and rebooted. Windows 7 came up and then performed a disk recovery. Eventually it came online but my card was gone. Called the help and the message says 'please replace your card, sorry for the inconvenience' and cuts the call. Any alternative paths just gets left with a ringing phone for 5 minutes. They claim 12 seconda. Really poor service.

Disgusting do not use note machine at Sainsbury's Salford. Withdrew £40 was not informed a fee would be charged for accessing my own money.When I checked I have been charged £3.03p
Absolute disgrace a warning should be given if you continue you will be charged. AVOID AVOID,AVOID.

AS others are saying FRAUD FRAUD…

AS others are saying FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!!! do not use these machines!!! I requested £200 yesterday @ 29 fifth road, Newbury - the machine pumped out £140 - I have never come across a cash machine that does that (they normally cancel the request if they don't have enough cash to cover), the shopkeeper assured me I would only be charged for the amount received but I was charged £160 - so I am down £20!!
