Disappointing Customer Service from Nothing

I was really excited about my Nothing product, but unfortunately, the customer service experience has been a huge letdown. When I faced an issue with my device, I reached out to their support team, only to be met with long response times and unhelpful replies.

It took several days just to get a basic response, and even then, the solutions provided didn’t resolve my issue. The lack of proper communication and unwillingness to provide timely assistance made the entire experience frustrating.

For a brand that prides itself on innovation and user experience, I expected much better customer support. I hope they improve their service because, at this point, it feels like they don’t care about their customers after the purchase. Disappointed! 😞

I have had the nothing phone 2 for…

I have had the nothing phone 2 for almost a year now was having issues with my apple airpods connecting to calls I assumed this was due to a 3rd party issue so I purchased the nothing ear. Worked fine for about a hour and started to do the same thing the airpods did I have contacted nothing support who told me to return my phone so they can review it easier said then done as I work from my phone and I cannot afford to be left without a phone there reply to this was 'ask a family member or friend for a spare phone' I could not believe this was even a option given to me I am disappointed as I have been a major ambassador for the brand since the purchase even having people buy the nothing phone 2 after I vouched for the phone.

The lack of consideration and after care should be studied before even considering a purchase from Nothing which is a shame as I do believe a lot can be done to boost this brand in terms of after care.

After thoroughly reviewing your case, we can confirm that our team explored all possible troubleshooting steps, including software checks and log analysis. In situations like this, the next step is a warranty repair or replacement, as the issue may be hardware or firmware-related.

The Nothing EThe Nothing Ear (a) is a very poor choice with ANC off and customer service is even worse!

The Nothing Ear (a) is a very poor choice with ANC off and customer service is even worse!

The Nothing Ear (a)is a very poor choice unless you have the Active Noise Cancelling switched on.

With ANC off, there is a marked reduction in sound quality and the limited nature of the EQ included with the Ear (a) is unable to rectify this.

Therefore, to reach a satisfactory sound quality, the ANC needs to be switched on. This leads to a significant reduction in play time, unacceptable if this one of your important criteria when choosing the ear buds.

I chose to go to the company direct rather than via Amazon, as I wanted to support the company rather than pay Amazon an unnecessary cut.

I wished that I had not!

If I had used Amazon, the return would have been straightforward, quick, and I would have been refunded in full.

Instead, the process was protracted [taking weeks] and frustrating. When I did return them for a refund, I was charged £8 for the privilege.

Whilst £8 is not the end of the world, it has left a sour taste and I now actively recommend that no one buys from them directly if they are considering one of their products.

Hi Roy,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re really sorry to hear that the Nothing Ear (a) didn’t meet your expectations and that our customer service left you disappointed. We completely understand how frustrating this must have been.

We appreciate your detailed feedback on sound quality with ANC off and battery life concerns. Your insights are invaluable, and we’ll be sure to pass them along to our team for future improvements.

Regarding your return experience, we’re sorry that the process felt protracted and that you were charged £8 for the return. We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when you were expecting a smoother resolution. Nothing- that’s what you get after sales

Four months after purchase, my 2a Plus wouldn’t make or receive calls using dual SIM. I stressed I needed urgent resolution (I work with high risk patients/clients). After weeks of sporadic ‘turn it off and on again’ emails from Nothing support, and request for me to produce a report my phone would not allow (it couldn’t call out or receive calls in) I was given a label to return to tech support. They returned it to me a week later, no report, no feedback, nothing. Same phone, no feedback. I emailed Tech support, who said ’we’ll chase it up’. Nothing. I asked for the complaint department address or email and they keep ignoring my request. So Nothing is fine when you purchase, but follow up is frankly atrocious. I get why they are called ‘Nothing’ now- that’s what you get when you have an after sales issue. So you are taikng your chances, quite literally, when other tech suppliers are tail end weighted for any issues that arise. Worst mistake I made buying into the marketing. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Hi Lee,

Thank you for your patience while we looked into this further. Our repair team carried out a full inspection, including a software reset, function tests, and multiple SIM card tests in different locations. Each test confirmed that the device was functioning correctly.

If you’re still experiencing issues, it may be related to carrier signal strength in your area. We understand how frustrating this must be, especially given the urgency of your situation.

I will be in touch in response to your complaint.

Sincerely,
Tom

I got the CMF buds 2 pro in January 8 and recently the left ear bud star to work with less volume andess cancellation, I ask for support and nothing worked and they offered to repair, but I can't get a refund or substitution. So, basically just after a month is broken and instead of a new product I get a repair one. I'm completely disappointed of the brand and customer service.

Hi Damián,

Thank you for your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear about your experience with your CMF Buds 2 Pro. I completely understand your frustration, especially given that the issue appeared so soon after your purchase.

I wanted to clarify that while we refer to it as a "repair," all CMF product repairs are actually replacements. This means that instead of fixing your existing earbuds, we provide a replacement unit. I apologize if this wasn’t clearly communicated to you during your support interaction.

We’d love to make this right for you. Trustpilot has sent you an email requesting more details—could you please reply to that? That way, we can review your case and ensure you receive the right support.

Your feedback helps us improve both our communication and our service, and we truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I hope we can turn this experience around for you.

Sincerely,

Trustpilot Review – Exposing Nothing Tech’s Warranty Denial

⭐ 1-Star Review Title: Nothing Tech Denies Warranty Claims Without Proof – Avoid!

I purchased a Nothing Phone (2a) for £300 on December 2, 2024. Just 6 weeks later, the screen stopped working after the phone lost power completely. I sent it to @nothingsupport for a warranty repair, expecting a fix under their advertised coverage.

Instead, Nothing Tech refused to honor the warranty and tried to charge me £104 for repairs, claiming "impact damage" due to a crack. However, their excuse doesn’t add up:

📌 The phone worked perfectly for over a week AFTER the crack—proving it was not the cause of failure.
📌 The screen only failed when the battery fully drained, which suggests a manufacturing defect, not impact damage.
📌 Under UK consumer law (Consumer Rights Act 2015), faults within 6 months of purchase are legally assumed to be manufacturing defects unless the retailer proves otherwise.

Despite multiple requests, Nothing Tech failed to provide timestamped evidence that the damage caused the failure. Instead, they delayed responses for weeks and refused to engage properly.
Why You Should Avoid Nothing Tech:

❌ They use ANY physical damage as an excuse to void warranties.
❌ They refuse to provide proof or justify their repair fees.
❌ They delay responses and ignore customer rights.

I have now reported Nothing Tech to Trading Standards and Citizens Advice and will pursue further legal action.

🔴 AVOID Nothing Tech if you want a company that honors its warranty! They DO NOT care about their customers.

Dear Nogsy,

We sincerely regret that your experience with your return and refund did not meet your expectations. We understand your frustration regarding the deducted amount, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.

Our return policy states that, in cases where a product is returned for reasons unrelated to a fault or defect, the return shipping cost is the customer’s responsibility. This information is outlined in our Terms of Sale, and we aim to make it as transparent as possible. However, we acknowledge that this may not have been as clear as it should have been, and we truly regret any inconvenience caused.

That being said, we never want a customer to feel unheard or undervalued. We are reviewing this case again to see how we can make things right.

Retail theft

I purchased 1 x CMF phone 1, case & charger on the 16/12/2024. This was a present & unwanted. So then I started the returns process. These items were unopened & untouched, I took a photo for proof, which they asked for, then followed their process exactly. They received the item back on the 18th January, to which I have proof that it was signed for by with Royal Mail. They refunded me £39 for the charger on the 27th January, 9 days after they said 5-7 days to get a refund. They still have NOT refunded me for the CMF phone 1 & case though, so they STILL owe me £186.40, they are pretending they did not receive my item, even though the whole order was sent back in 1 box, ( which they asked me to do), with the RMA numbers. I have proof that they signed for the package with Royal Mail, so they have not got a leg to stand on.
I put my faith in what I though was a reputable company, but "Nothing" is exactly the type of customer service that the Nothing Company give their customers. I am 57 and this is the worst company I have ever delt with in 40 years.
Please avoid.

YOU asked for the RMA, even though " YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM, BOTH RMA's were in the returned box!!!!

RMA:UK25A709

Nothing managed to refund me £176.40, wrong amount, Now having to ask for the other £7.99 back, delivery cost which I paid in the first place.
The Reply by Nothing further proves their incompetence.

Hope you don't need service help

Got some Nothing Ear (a) earphones for xmas. Quickly found the left bud would rarely connect (maybe one attempt in ten) to anything (phone, wife's phone, PC, chromebook, etc) after nearly two weeks of emails they finally issued the RMA so I could get them replaced. When they shipped them back nobody thought to send me any notification and instead of sending them to my return address which I'd provided three times during this process they were sent to the post office in Galashiels fully a week ago where they could have sat forever except I emailed them AGAIN and waited two days for a response to find out what was happening with them.
