Absolute trash
Absolute trash. You pay 200 euros per month to have access to everything and then you find out that you need to buy extra credits after one smarter AI prompt. Scam.
Horrible support and a severe downgrade for almost €30
I've been a Notion user since 2023. I paid non-stop for their service, despite all the hiccups the AI encountered more often than not. Then, they upgraded the overall plan from the simple addon I purchased (the AI tool for text editing) to Business, keeping the original cost which, due to my different currency, is a bit higher than the original $10. Unfortunately, in the past few months I noticed more and more downgrades due to the makeovers they introduced. Back in May, there was a severe issue that literally made the entire AI tool completely unusable, as it locked up the memory with usage and made the web page and Desktop app freeze or crash every 10-20 minutes. I contacted the support, I've granted access to my workspace three times, provided screenshots and videos, only for them to never fix it until much later. In the meantime, I continued to pay in full for a service I could barely use, and when I was offered a compensation, they gave me a total of €4 out of the €24 I paid for two months straight, unable to take advantage of what I was giving cash for. Now, it turns out that starting from December, the Business plan will cost me €29 per month. Considering the constant issues this program is having, this is literally overpriced and I will be forced to cancel after so long, having to look for an alternative. Their support may seem helpful in the beginning, until you realize they just disregard you, sometimes even ghost you despite your urgency, and essentially treat you like a bank account more than an actual person. I love Notion, but this is just too much to deal with. Seeing this company turning into yet another money grab for a poor service is honestly very sad. The mobile app also happened to be very useful and allowed me to continue working on my projects even while being away from my computer; now it's always bugged and the $24-€29 is not justified.
Promising product, frustrating onboarding and slow, incomplete customer support
A frustrating start to what looks like a promising platform.
I wanted to trial Notion as a potential operating system for my business, but what should have been a straightforward onboarding process became unnecessarily confusing around startup offers, partner programmes, account logins and workspaces.
At one stage I effectively ended up with duplicate account/workspace contexts, including one created through Sign in with ChatGPT and another tied to my business email. That left me unclear about which workspace actually contained the promotional trial and, more importantly, where I should start building and testing the product.
Support has been polite, but responses have generally taken around a day and several issues have required repeated clarification. A meaningful part of my 30-day trial has therefore elapsed before I have been able to start properly evaluating the platform.
The experience has also prompted me to look more seriously at the alternatives. For a finance professional looking for relationship management, project workflows, knowledge management and AI, there is now a strong and growing range of competing products, alongside increasingly practical options for building more bespoke internal systems.
Notion itself still looks potentially very capable, which is why the difficult onboarding experience is particularly disappointing. I hope the remaining issues can be resolved quickly so I can finally assess the product on its merits.
Changed my review to 4 stars! Give the app some time to get used to.
It took me a couple of days to get used to the way Notion works. At first it's overwhelming, but if you give it some time, you really start to appreciate the usefulness of this tool. My favourite features are syncing across different devices and apps, and the range of options and formats for organising your life. Their AI feature definitely needs some tweaks, however - it struggles to create simplicity.
A really good app if its considered for…studies ,notes ,to do list ,and research purpose as it includes ai as well
A really good app if its considered for notes ,for student ,for making a to do list ,and to write your own notes ,,ai is good too ,,but issues with it is that it needs some improvement in' to do list ' a function where the box for ticking off tasks can be added everywhere ,not only on that page only ,,and for the ai it is good but its use is limited and after use it just locks its self .As there is vast competition in ai and most of people usethis application to use ai side by side with their work to make it efficient and if it turns out the ai gets locked after some use then they will just delete it ,so this issue should be solved
Notion for Personal and Business Use
I use Notion in my personal and professional life daily. Overall, I believe the app allows for decent customization of simple databases, which can be built up and easily shared between a team, friends, or clients. I find Notion is easy to build policies and project management tools for my work. I enjoy the template marketplace, which makes it easy for me to build off of something existing or get inspiration for my own pages. I find the free plan is quite generous and allows for several free integrations. I find a lot of the third-party apps have been well developed and work well within Notion. I preferred Notion before it was heavily trying to push the AI though. I find I don't use Notion AI much because there is often misunderstandings or hallucinations which cause me to waste time trying to correct. If you require complex data analysis, Notion is not the best tool. However, if you are looking for a second brain to compose your thoughts, it is a decent platform with a learning curve. There are many YouTube videos to help inspire or troubleshoot though.
No real customer support at all
No real customer support at all, 100% SCAM AI website that operates fully on theft and has so-so "runs" that can do mostly basic AI tasks but only if You pay up for more than 1 month or 400 RUNS (executions of AI commands) and all 400 are easily spent over few days and then it takes few months to be able to "RUN" again ... or a hefty price to renew. Avoid at all costs as there are a ton of better and FREE AI apps. I am still waiting for answer to my compolaints (I raised a month ago ... but I doubt I will ever get any real answer)
What a load of c**p
What a load of c**p! Just installed on my android and it went straight to AI. No visible menus nor anyway to navigate to get started. If the is then it is well hidden! During installation it prompted me to install the Notion Calendar. I did and it just sits there when you open it and does nothing. No user friendly guidance to get you started. Unless I am missing something, don't bother.
From Blessing to Financial Nightmare -Warning: Token Extortion
Review: Notion – A Brilliant Trap for Productivity Seekers (Warning: Token Extortion)
Title: From Blessing to Financial Nightmare – When AI Organization Becomes an Unaffordable Hostage Situation
If you are looking for a solution to organize your life through text input and AI agents—especially when dealing with ADHD or complex projects—you will inevitably stumble upon the new Notion agents. And yes, the functionality is excellent. The morning briefings, the automated calendar organization, and the constant background activity are exactly what modern assistive work should look like. But this is where the praise ends and the systematic rip-off begins.
1. The Unaffordable Token System:
Notion has created a system that relies on agents being constantly active in the background. That is the only way they can reliably remind you of appointments, create briefings, and sync information in real-time. But this is exactly where the trap snaps shut: every move, every reminder, every single action by these agents costs tokens. What starts as a seemingly fair price turns into a bottomless pit within a very short time. For a system that must work 24/7 to fulfill its purpose, charging per token is unethical and financially non-viable.
2. Technology Only for the Rich:
This is a prime example of two-class technology. If you don't have a bloated business account to pump hundreds of dollars into token refills every month, you are left behind. Notion shows us exactly how perfect the solution to our chaos could be, only to snatch it away unless we are willing to pay extra for every single automated click. It is a disgrace for a software that claims to "revolutionize" the workflow.
3. A Testament to Microsoft's Failure:
It is an unprecedented embarrassment that a trillion-dollar corporation like Microsoft, despite owning Windows, Outlook, and Teams, fails to offer even a remotely efficient system for task and project management. While their CEO throws billions out the window to research eternal life, the average user is drowning in an outdated Excel swamp. Microsoft has the resources but zero interest in a real solution for people. You couldn't draw a more pathetic picture of a lack of innovation coupled with megalomania.
4. Google's Pathetic Performance:
Google also deserves a mention: they own the entire ecosystem—Calendar, Docs, Gmail, Gemini AI. They have the power to create a perfect, integrated Notion clone that handles everything. Instead, they fail miserably at meaningfully connecting their own services.
Conclusion:
Notion offers a brilliant drug—perfect organization—only to bleed users dry through token addiction. It is an insult to hide innovative assistance systems behind such a paywall. Anyone who can rely on their own hardware (local LLMs) should turn their back on Notion. These companies have no interest in your productivity; they only want to monetize your dependency.
I was told how great their writer…
I was told how great their writer planner would be but it barely works and it's riddled with AI. I only found out about it once i bought it, typical company using AI to reap money from people. If they're going to be so proud of using AI they can at least be upfront about it. Asking for a refund now, wish me luck.
Great tool
I've been using Notion for a few years by now and it becomes better and better. It's a place for all notes, data and projects, both for work and personal.
Recently they also added AI features for a reasonable price that is useful. Love y'all!
I`ve been using Notion as a jornal for…
I`ve been using Notion as a jornal for notes on free plan for the free plan for the past 3 months. I usually add new every 1–2 days. For me, it works well as a simple notebook, and the free plan is convenient enough for regular use. I don`t use the AI features because they’re paid, and I already have subscriptions to other AI tools that cover that for me. As a notebook, Notion has a clean and pleasant interface with very little unnecessary clutter, so overall I’m happy with it. One thing I`d still like to have is the option to lock my Notion with a possword, because privacy matters to my when it comes to personal notes. Right now, thet feature is missing.
The most inconvenient app I've ever…
The most inconvenient app I've ever used. It doesn't let me do even the most basic tasks. I'm trying to figure out how to delete a user through AI. It's complete crap, and I've been using it for a week, doing basic tasks, and this piece of crap wants to charge me $24 a month. For me, Google Sheets is 100 times better, more convenient, and free.
Deleting the platform customer service and their AI agent is terrible
Notion had an ad on FB and offered one year free if you sign up. I signed up and didnt see the email untial a few days later & gave them my notion info for my workspace no reply.
Today I go on Notion and I get a business plan promotion for 50% off until May 16. I go to checkout and it is 24.00 not 12.00 complete scam. Talking to their AI about it - they just blame the consumer when it clearly showed 24.00 at checkout and the promotion was applied before hitting the checkout button.
NEVER EVER, EVER-EVER, TRY THEIR PAID SERVICES FOR FREE
NEVER TRY THEIR PAID SERVICES FOR FREE IF YOU DONT WANT TO PAY IN FUTURE!
They will ask you to try a free plan for 1 month e.g. AI or Pro. You will stop autopay using your internet banking or whatever.
Then weeks later you will receive warning that you would lose access to "YOUR OWN NOTES" unless you pay for the last month. Yes! Postpaid billing which is shady and unethical as hell! This has happened to me twice.
THIS IS DELIBERATE.
My workspace was locked and I could not access my own notes.
MY OWN NOTES are being used as a blackmail to pay them.
Now I use Samsung Notes, Obsidian and OneNote for different features.
very disappointed with their AI
I’m very disappointed with their AI. It suggested permanently deleting all of my databases with no way to restore them. I would never recommend using it.
Specifically, I had a Trash label next to my database and only wanted to remove that label. Instead, the AI removed not just the label, but the databases themselves from the trash. I’m extremely disappointed, especially since restoration is impossible.
Good app, just overpriced
Good app, been using it for years. But the plans are overpriced and don't really make sense, especially as I don't care about using AI and I'm just a solo user.
Based on the above, I just don't really trust a company that doesn't come across as transparent. I'm going to move to a 'free' app instead.
I like the user experience but features…
I like the user experience but features are very expensive.
One can build such integrations in a few minutes locally, so one has to ask whether a tool like Notion is too expensive and too restrictive in functionality in 2026.
One of the challenges we now have is repeatedly paying for AI tools, when you only really want to pay for one. Notion is one such example, why pay for it here, when you have it elsewhere?
I think they key will be to use the AI locally and push data to Notion as a shared wiki and forego the expensive add ons. I hope billing models will reflect this new world soon and be a bit more realistic.
They pivot projects and features…
They pivot projects and features without finishing them. Notion mail sucks, notion ai sucks, now they roll out agents. yet still cant work off line. Migrating off as soon as possible. Truly a bad app in 2026
We use Notion for basically everything…
We use Notion for basically everything - our agency KB, project management, and CRM. It’s the backbone of how we stay organized.
The Good Stuff:
The customizability is unmatched. We’re very API-forward, so the way it integrates with Make and the MCP we use with Claude is a total game-changer for our automation.
In the last year, Notion has been pumping out updates so fast I can’t even catch up. I’m positive I’m missing out on half the new features, but here are the ones actually moving the needle for us:
AI Meeting Recording: This is huge. Since it’s local and you don’t have to have a "bot" join the call, it’s way less intrusive. Plus, because it runs locally, I can use it for phone calls and in-person meetings, which is a massive plus.
Database Upgrades: Love the recent additions like conditional coloring; it makes scanning high-level data so much easier.
Notion Calendar: The recent UI updates have made this a staple in my daily workflow.
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
Notion Mail: Honestly, it needs some love. The sorting and AI features leave a lot to be desired, and it bugs out on me pretty often. It’s a great concept, but it's not quite "there" yet.
The Learning Curve: There is definitely a steep curve for new users. I really wish there was a better way to introduce basic features to new team members without it feeling overwhelming.
My Wishlist:
Notion Chat: I’d love a native chat feature similar to Slack so we could finally keep the "talk" where the "work" is.
Basic Text Formatting: I’d love to use Notion as a legitimate word processor (like to write a book), but it’s missing the basics. You can't do double line spacing and you can't even do paragraph indents.
Overall, it’s an incredible tool that we couldn't run the agency without, even if I'm constantly chasing the latest update.
