I called to ask a general question about how my mother gets a new permanent car (after she was hit by another car pulling out of being parked & wasn’t insured). It took 5 phone calls to finally get thru to ask this. The operator instead of just answering the question went on thanking me for the call & proceeded to repeat back numerous times about providing a hire car!! Instead of answering my question - how does my mother get another car with no out of pocket expenses as she wasn’t at fault.
A simple answer of NRMA covering the payout was all I wanted to know, 5 mins to give an answer yet it took 5 calls & 20 frustrating minutes.
I didn’t want a parrot repeating me just a quick answer, not hard.. worst over the phone response.

They make claiming difficult & cumbersome as possible, 45 minutes between being put on hold & trying to communicate with a person named Gav whose command of the English language wasn’t worth a 1 star rating . Avoiding the claim won’t help them , if your reading this & your having problems make sure you draw it to the attention of AFCA

I am thrilled that I rang NRMA to get a quote and ended up taking out the Policy on the spot because the Policy was so comprehensive in its cover. The consultant Cheryl was amazing, so helpful, friendly and professional. My husband and I are extremely happy that we have gone with NRMA Insurance and thoroughly recommend NRMA for Insurance.

We have an EV car and not many insurer seem to be able to give us a quote (2025) and NRMA came in the cheapest. What impressed me though was when we have to make a claim because of chips on windscreen - we have additional windscreen cover without excess - the experience of being guided through the claim process by Kyth and then put us through to the windscreen repairer so that it is one stop shop was amazing.

I removed payment info and was still was charged for comprehensive insurance.
The website wont allow you to cancel without ringing them.
"Please allow up to 15 days for your refund to be received."
This alone warrants a 1 star IMO.
Nothing takes 15days in a digital world for a policy that was cancelled before it actually started.

Extremely easy and clear to obtain the online quote, pricing was very reasonable. I was very happy to proceed with my second policy with NRMA.

Had building cover on my property in SA and contents cover on my personals in QLD. Called NRMA to move my contents insurance to SA. They were trying to force me to complete their calculator as they deemed my contents to be $52k when its a little less than that. I explained I will carry the risk and no I did not want to increase my sum insured. They wouldn't go any further - they refused to move on unless I increased my sum insured. If I want to carry the risk that is my prerogative. Have been a customer since the late 90s (originally with CGU and then when NRMA took over moved across) but yet NRMA are perfectly okay to lose Building, Contents and Car Insurance with a client cos they wouldn't complete an online calculator. You know what their response was "The system won't allow us". NRMA keep satisfying your system and not your customer! You are a joke!!

Warning don't just keep rolling over policies i checked my green slip roll over renewal was $1100 I did a new application it ended up being $780 for the same policy makes me question the 7 other policies I have been a member and customer for 30 + years seems loyalty doesn't matter.

I went hunting the internet for good priced insurance and found NRMA this year to be the most competitive. I was worried when hearing media reports that insurance may be getting out of reach for many but luckily for our home we are ok.

I recently added another vehicle to my policy with NRMA Insurance and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The whole process was smooth, straightforward, and handled with genuine professionalism.
The customer service was excellent — friendly, efficient, and more than happy to answer all my questions. It made what can sometimes be a tedious process feel easy and stress free.
I was also really impressed with the pricing. As a multi-policy holder, the discount offered was fantastic value and made the decision to insure my additional vehicle with NRMA an easy one.
Overall, a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend NRMA for anyone looking for reliable cover, competitive pricing, and outstanding service.

Long time NRMA Customer currently have 5 policies with them spanning over personal and business with a mix of car insurances and home insurances
Currently going through a claim for ride-off hail damage and appalled at how NRMA has handled it.
My policy auto renewed 18th March and incident occurred on the 21st March. I was merely 3 days from the automatic yearly policy renewal till the hail damage incident occurred.
For a 3 day window I am getting charge the total year of policy being approx $1,400 and potentially a drop in agreed value from the previous policy.
When speaking to a senior escalation manager I was told NRMA has see this from a business perspective and their is nothing they can do, it’s good to know they value their business over their long term customers.
My vehicle also got towed away and due to the escalation and then taking their time I have been without this car for weeks since it has been towed, costing me hundreds of dollars in Ubers and transport.
Terrible resolution and I am unhappy with the resolution and customer support. I will be cancelling all 5 policies I have with the company and moving insurance companies.
I would say STAY AWAY they value their business more than their customers
