Misleading advertising, incomplete content, and no acknowledgment when challenged

I paid €49.95 for the English motorcycle theory online course to prepare for my CBR motor theory exam. A week before my exam date I discovered — through a tip from someone else — that I had been relying on a course with significant gaps and incorrect information.

What was wrong with the course:

Incorrect information on right-of-way and priority rules
Major gaps in road users content
Lights and signals section was incomplete
Positioning on the road was insufficiently covered
Videos are in Dutch with English subtitles — this is not disclosed anywhere on the website
When I switched to an alternative platform with one week to go, the difference in content depth was immediately clear. Topics that were missing or wrong in the Nutheorie course were covered in full elsewhere.

How they responded to my complaint:

I did not ask for a refund. I asked for a simple acknowledgment that their English motorcycle course has gaps. Instead, they cited their 83.4% pass rate as a rebuttal — a figure which, as their own website footnote states, is based exclusively on car theory exam results. Not motorcycle. Not the English online course. A different product entirely.

They also described the validation of these statistics as "independent research" — but the body that produced it, Stichting BBR, was initiated by Nutheorie itself, as reported by RijschoolPro in April 2021.

After three email exchanges, there has been no acknowledgment of any shortcoming. Only requests for more specific examples — a reasonable ask in principle, but used here as a holding position rather than a genuine invitation to improve.

I am raising this publicly because this course is specifically marketed to international residents in the Netherlands who are preparing for the CBR motorcycle exam in English. Those people have no easy way to verify what is missing until it is too late.

If you are an English-speaking candidate preparing for the motorcycle theory exam, use Traffic Trainer instead. The difference is significant.

They respond every communication until they make sure that the issue is handled properly.
