What exactly does 'in stock' mean?
I ordered a classic sling bag in the Sequoia (red) color about two weeks ago. After about 5 days, seeing my order was hung up in the 'not fufilled' status, I finally emailed customer support.
Surprise - the representative (Liz) told me that they ran out of stock before they could process my order. She offered to send another color or process a refund.
I responded that it was 'in stock' on the website when I ordered it (and paid for it). When they are out of stock, you can't add it to the cart.
There was no explanation of how they could possibly stock out while their site showed otherwise, and they could not provide an ETA on when the color would be back in stock.
Having an accurate inventory and fulfillment platform is just table stakes for an online vendor. If they are failing at the basics of online ordering, I wonder what other issues they have with their products and their guarantees.
