An unforgettable volunteering experience – thanks to Sherman and Glory Lanka Volunteering & Tours
We spent one week volunteering at the Galbokka Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Center with Sherman from Glory Lanka Volunteering & Tours, and it truly couldn’t have been a better experience. Our work involved caring for sea turtles of different species and ages – exactly what we had hoped for. We were able to support the project, learn so much about these beautiful animals, and even see some baby turtles.
What made our experience truly exceptional was Sherman. He took care of absolutely everything: our accommodation, the daily transport to and from the hatchery, the volunteering schedule, and even photos and videos so we could keep those memories forever. He picked us up from our previous accommodation and brought us to the next one afterwards, recommended great activities around Kosgoda, joined us on a river safari, and helped us with every question we had.
You can feel that Sherman does this work with his whole heart. Besides the turtle conservation project, he also supports other meaningful initiatives such as volunteering in pre school, etc. and he is planning even more inspiring projects for the future. We fully support his dedication and vision.
A lovely bonus: Volunteers receive a certificate accredited by Lions Club International.

We couldn’t have wished for a better guide or a more enriching volunteering week. Sherman, thank you for everything – it was truly a joy and an honour to spend this week with you. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that your dream of establishing a children’s home will come true. 🍀
