I’m really glad I chose Richard Oades as my surveyor. He arranged a pre-survey call where we discussed the upcoming survey. The comprehensive report was easy to understand and he was always available to discuss anything afterwards. This made a potentially stressful part of the process much smoother. I highly recommend Richard.

Richard is forensic and really takes the time to answer each of your questions, hugely appreciated.

Rich has been an amazing help through this process, as first time buyers we had a lot of questions and concerns about the property and what a survey would look like. Throughout the whole process Rich was patient with us and made sure we understood all the information that was being provided to us, the report he provided was very thorough and concise, the photos throughout the survey are also incredibly helpful as it allowed us to properly understand what Rich was looking at. We cannot recommend Rich enough, he has been amazing.

We cannot recommend Richard highly enough. From start to finish, he always answered all questions we had as swiftly and as detailed as possible. We had a level 2 survey on a property we were in the process of purchasing and Richard was very thorough in all his searches and extremely professional throughout.

Working in the mortgage industry, I’ve had a lot of dealings with the big surveyors & some less than ideal experiences. This was what made me want to look at a local, independent firm & I’m so glad that I did. Richard was brilliant throughout, his communication before was great & set up everything well for the appointment. As he was doing the survey, he talked me through everything so that I knew what he was looking at and the reasons behind it. I can’t recommend him highly enough, if I ever need a survey again he will be my first port of call & any friends or family that need one will be sent in his direction.

Richard responded to our request quickly and visited the property within a week. We had a call with Richard in advance of his visit to the property, which was helpful, as well as immediately after his visit. The report was comprehensive and thorough. Really grateful for Richard's communication and quick turn around. Would recommend Richard to others :)

I have previously submitted a review however since then I have had further dealings with Richard and want to reflect that in my review.

I have had to go back to Richard for a few updates (nothing to do with his work, just technicalities from Help to buy) and he has been very helpful. Always responds quickly and nothing is any trouble for him.

We have used Richard to conduct Home Buyers survey on semi detached house.
He responded timely to initial request and provided full information required to book his services and his availability.
The day before the survey was scheduled Richard called me to discuss any concerns about property I may have.
On the day of the survey after completing it in the morning he called in the afternoon to briefly discuss to general status and findings and the full report followed within 2 days.
The report is very clear and descriptive, with good quality pictures and enough level of information to make informed decision.

Overall we were very happy with the quality of service we received, both timing and content wise.

I am in the process of selling my flat, and needed a RICS valuation for the Freeholder. I had been having a stressful time with certain aspects of the sale, and felt this was yet another stress I could do without!
However, Richard made the whole experience easy to deal with.

Really recommend Oades Residential Surveying. Richard surveyed the house we are in the process of buying. He completed a really thorough and detailed survey including drone footage. The report was completed promptly after the survey was carried out. The report was honest and detailed but easy to understand for people like myself with limited knowledge of construction and anything I wasn’t sure of Richard was very happy to explain. Really impressed with the service and would highly recommend.

Myself and my girlfriend had requested quotes from multiple Surveyor firms and found them to be quite expensive. The estate agents we were working with referred us to Richard and Oades Residential Surveying. Richard's quote was vastly more pleasing compared to the other firms, and he completed a quick view of the property online to confirm the type of survey we would need. All very efficiently and on a Bank Holiday! He then scheduled a sit-down call to go through the survey report structure and answer any questions we had.
Richard was able to squeeze us into his schedule so soon after first contact.
After seeing our new property to complete his survey, he dropped us a quick call to give us a summary of what he was going to write up in his report, giving us early peace of mind that everything was positive. Richard remains available to answer any questions we may still have.

Richard was great, he did a red book valuation survey for us for help to buy purposes. He was recommended to us and we are really glad he was. He was helpful, informative, personable and friendly.
