Yet again we are being ripped off by…

Yet again we are being ripped off by the energy sector although the price cap has been slightly reduced Ofgem has allowed the price cap to increase yet again which makes the user having to pay 300+ a year even if that they dont use any power energy companies are making massive profits ,the reduction in the price cap is minute and probably wont stay in place energy is still too expensive and causing great hardship to many people.Offgem only serves the energy producers not the public it should be scrapped along with all of the other government kwangos run by overpaid lazy individuals who are getting rich thanks to the British taxpayer.

An outmoded company that needs replacing

My experience of Ofgem is that they are a toothless tiger. They favour and seem to be in fear of the big companies, They do not listen to anything you have to say in any great depth, They do not review your information and they do not care about you. In addition, there is a massive waiting list before your complaint is even heard! The system is outdated and no longer fit for purpose and needs replacing,

Ofgem - What a waste of space

What a waste of space. British Gas announce their 889% rise in profits because they have been profiteering from war. Ofgem allow BG to put their prices up to help with the increase cost in wholesale gas, ok, but clearly they have put them up by too much and then what is worse is Ofgem have not force BG to put them back in ratio to the reduction. What a waste of space they are. We should shut Ofgem down and share the savings with the poor consumer who BG have ripped off.

Needs disbanding and CEO sacked

Disgusting organisation only there to line the pockets of the corporate energy giants. How they cannot see their price cap failed after British Gas post 900% profits whilst kids go cold in winter is beyond me. What are the Tories actually doing other than lining their own pockets. If we ever needed anymore proof that this is not an inflation crisis it is a corporate greed crisis this is it. If the Tories want to control inflation and halve it then control corporate greed. Thanks OFGEM.

A useless impotent non entity !

Disgraceful waste of space of a company ! No help at all to the average person in the street as the disgusting near 900% increase in British Gas profits show when people are losing their houses due to the cost of living and mortgage increases. Shame on you ! Another example of rip off Britain !

Ineffective & Useless .... !

As we the consumers continue to face exorbitantly high energy prices British Gas declare obscene profits of almost one billion . Ofgem does absolutely nothing to help the consumer. In a private company scenario the board of Ofgem would be fired for total ineffectiveness. An absolutely useless organisation with no real power to take the decisions which really matter to struggling households. It needs replacing urgently with an independent body which is not a puppet of the government.

A complete an utter waste of tax payers money. Ofgem are an ineffective regulatory body that allow companies like EON (who claim to generate 100% renewable energy) inflate their energy prices inline with fossil fuel generators!! How is this even allowed to happen in this day and age.

Ofgem work 4energy companies & politicians never the customer

Ofgem/ ombudsman has ignored my information sent on harassment by Ecotricity during the winter months ( which they know they cant do) always sending me letters threatening to apply for a warrant of entry, when they simultaneously receive money from the tories knowing l have health issues. Really ofgem are a PR exercise at best giving energy companies a license to overcharge and merely a "slap on the wrist" so they can continue to rip off the population.
Unaffordable price hikes whenever they want. Politicians have investments and shares in NRG companies Wholesale gas prices have gone down since 2022, while prices go up continuously for the consumer They call them price " caps" . What hypocrisy.

Mainly a puppet for the energy industry. Standing charge rates are retrogressive tax. Ofgem should be replaced by an organization with some brains rather than apologists for energy companies.

Another email from Scottish power and British gas telling me AS PER OFGEM that there will be another price Increase AGAIN in April.

Ofgem you are absolutely hopeless and the Government should be investigating you
When the mentioned energy companies have never made such big profits since the public were having to pay much much more.

Nothing connected yet 970Kw shown as used over 16 months

I have had a problem with British Gas over "ghost usage" of energy on the economy 7 side of my meter. I have no appliances wired into economy 7. After British Gas gave me the run around and showed no intention of getting to the heart of the matter, I introduced Ofgen into the fray. British Gas explained to them, even though nothing is connected to economy 7, that it was probably my fridge freezer and items on stand-by which were the culprits for the mysterious nightly usage. They maintained that it was possible for appliances to migrate from 24/7 supply to economy 7, and vice versa. Bizarrely, Ofgem believed this ridiculous explanation and awarded their decision to British Gas.
I can arrive at only one conclusion, Ofgem are an utter waste of time and as useful to the public as an ashtray on a motorcycle.
