Excellent Service

I came in for an oil change at the South Lake Tahoe location. Chris was extremely helpful and friendly. He suggested a bunch of services that I didn't realize I needed so badly. My interior air filter was covered in dirt and pine needles and I wouldn't have checked on it myself. He also gave me a list of recommended car maintenance, letting me know which ones were high priority and what just needed to be done eventually. He really did an awesome job and I feel like the price was well worth it.

Went in for just an oil change

Went in for just an oil change. I was expecting the new oil filter, air filter & cabin filter. I was asked about a fuel additive & politely declined. A minute later tech returns & says the fuel additive is "required" because Hyundai sent a letter to all oil changers in June. Tech also stated I would not be able to get oil change anywhere without the fuel additive. This time they will add it complimentary in the future there will be a charge. In the 9 years I've had the car it's never had a fuel additive & it runs fine. I contacted several other unnamed places that change oil & was told no way would they force me to add & pay for something I did not want. I will not be returning to oil changers in fair oaks ca.

Total waste of time & money.

Total waste of time & money.
Vechile came back leaking oil taken back twice & told it was oil cooler not oil filter leak. Taken to mechanic surprise it was oil filter leak from damaged dirty oil seal after they reckon filter was changed a few times.

Very poor service

Very poor service, no response from complaint that was sent by email. I was treated like an idiot that I didn't know anything about my car. They don't deserve any stars.

After being quoted 250 bucks locally

After being quoted 250 bucks locally, l rang them for a quote. It was $100 less. They changed the oil and air filters as well as checking the exhaust system and fluids. It did not take very long. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will use them next time I need an oil change.

Great job!!

Everyone who works at the oil changers in
Crystal lake is very polite and professional. I felt like they did a thorough job with changing my oil and checking my tires. They even topped off my coolant and wiper fluid no extra charge. I had to give 4 stars just because I’m on a pretty tight budget, but for what I paid for,
I will be coming back in the future. Thanks!

Avoid for anything other than oil.

Avoid for anything other than a basic oil change. Don't let them look at your air filters, wipers, bulbs or anything else. They make a mistake they won't admit it and will leave you with the hundreds in repair bills caused by their mistake. Totally denying any involvement even though other mechanics/services have stated otherwise.

Horrific experience!!!!!

Today I pulled up to the location / franchise in Bolton Ontario – 8895 Hwy #50 to enquire about the cost of a synthetic oil change. I have never, ever been greeted (if you can call it that) treated and talked to so poorly... and by the owner of the franchise who would not give me his name.

The story:
I pulled up to one of the doors to ask about the pricing etc. I was wearing a mask when I got out of my car and immediately I heard somebody yelling at me “get back in your car”. It was a man insider the shop with the service doors closed. When I finally saw him, I raised my arms as if to say I was confused. I said through the bay door “I merely want to get pricing” when he yelled aggressively “ why didn’t you just ask me”. I was stunned, that’s why I got out of my car was to ask him. Then he walked up to the door window and yelled “no need to look and be so frustrated”, I calmly said, “I’m not frustrated whatsoever, merely want a price for a synthetic oil change. He gave me the price (which was $25 more than local competitors including Midas) and I said not thx and as I turned I heard him yell “good riddance”! Are you kidding me? Really? So I yelled back at you the owner, he said yes walked up to the door, hit the open button and asked me “what my problem was”. I had a few harsh words for him as he was completely ignorant, aggressive and I couldn’t believe his actions and comments. I asked for his name, he reused to give it and closed the door walking away.

I will never ever consider Oil Changers again and I will be telling this story through social media forums because no one, no one should be treated this way. All I wanted was a price and I did absolutely nothing wrong.

Engine oil not filed

Had oil change just before level 4 lock down. Oil light came on slowing down for traffic lights. On checking engine oil only partially filled - level down below minimum line on dip stick. Had to add 1.5 litres

HORRIBLE service

HORRIBLE service. Had an oil change done, said they'd filled the transmission fluid up but had not and resulted in my cars transmission completely giving out in a very dangerous area a couple weeks later (the second time I'd used it since getting it out of the shop). Had them look at it and they claimed none of it was their fault even though I'd had another mechanic look at it and say that it was definitely because the fluid was empty. Costed over $2000 to get the repairs done on my car which would have been avoided if they just did their job in the first place. Do not recommend, they wont take responsibility of issues that cause.

Amature Hour - AT MY EXPENSE!

They broke off my oil pressure sending unit which was screwed into the side of my engine block. Then they wrote on the report "oil sending unit is broken, recommend replacement"

My oil light was never on before taking it there. When I went back, one "mechanic" said "I could see it hanging when you drove in"

-- even if it was broken before, it could not have been hanging down as the wire attached was not long enough for the part to hang down at all.

-- another "mechanic" said "it was broken before. I have it all on this video camera" (he points to a camera up in the top corner of the shop at least 30 feet away from the car.

-- oh really? I said "show me the footage"

- he gets mad "WHO ARE YOU THAT I NEED TO SHOW YOU OUR FOOTAGE!?"

-- well you're making a claim, so back it up. (the guy was ready to start a fight!)

I after my "oil change" I had to see why my light was on. I needed a flashlight and a MIRROR to see where they had broken off the sending unit yet this guy was claiming that a video camera, 30 feet away was able to see down into my engine compartment, around other parts and capture how my sending unit was already broken -- IN COMPLETE DARKNESS as well! I want a camera like that! Where can I buy one!?

There was an old lady who ran the shop. First she was telling me that because my oil cap was broken, thats what was causing my light to go on! The cap has been broken for years! The only thing broken on the cap was the ratchet part so you don't over tighten it. The cap does not leak oil and THERE IS NO PRESSURE in the Valve cover! The pressure is checked through the BLOCK! This is how they treat thier PAYING customers!

I even told her "I'm a good customer, been coming here for years. Her response "ya, you come here twice a year" a) I have THREE VEHICLES and USED TO Bring them ALL THERE! b) We don't put many miles on, so we don't need more than two oil changed per car per year! c) What differnce does that make? I'm a customer! Maybe others spend more, some maybe spend less!

After coming back several times, she finally scribbled my name and number on a SCRAP piece of paper saying "SHE WOULD THINK ABOUT IT" She never called back. Instead, I called back and they ultimately said, "not our problem. We're not doing anything"

The part was 150.00 at several stores. I researched several stores bought it for 100.00 and replace it myself. The part had sheared off near the block. I was able to get some vice grips on it and unscrew the part still stuck in the block. So I fixed the problem for about 100.00. THEY could have bought the part wholesale for half price and kept a customer happy. Instead now they get this kind of review and bad rapport. Had I taken the vehicle to the dealer, They would have doubled the cost of the part and charged $100.00 per hour to fix it, at least 3-400 job at the dealer. I only asked them to look after the cost of the part, not even my own labour but apparently that was even too much to ask.
