My Experience with OKX: Lost Funds, Failed Trades, and a Withdrawal Nightmare
I’m writing this to publicly share my troubling experience with the OKX cryptocurrency exchange. Over the past several months, I have faced multiple serious issues that resulted in the loss of my funds, trading failures, and an ongoing battle to withdraw my own money from the platform.
Despite repeatedly contacting support and complying with all verification steps, OKX failed to resolve any of these issues, and in many cases, simply closed the support tickets without providing solutions.
Here are the three major problems I encountered:

📌 1. Lost Funds After Transferring from Coinbase to OKX:
I transferred cryptocurrency from my Coinbase account to my OKX wallet. The coins left my Coinbase account and were confirmed on the blockchain. I used the copy address feature on OKX to ensure accuracy. However, the funds never showed up in my OKX account. I contacted OKX support immediately and provided all transaction details and screenshots. They acknowledged that:
• The address I used was my OKX wallet address
• The transaction had been received on the blockchain
Yet, the funds were never credited to my account.
After this, OKX closed my support ticket — multiple times — without providing a fix or compensation. I had to reopen tickets repeatedly, but each time, they reassured me they were working on it and then closed the case again without resolution.
The funds remain missing. OKX did nothing to make it right.

📌 2. Failed Limit and Stop-Loss Orders Cost Me Thousands:
I placed multiple limit orders and stop-loss orders using OKX’s trading platform. These trades were properly placed and should have been executed as market conditions were met.
OKX confirmed that the orders:
• Were entered correctly
• Should have triggered based on price movement
Despite this, none of the trades executed.
This cost me thousands of dollars in losses, as stop-losses failed to activate when the market turned against my positions. When I reported this, OKX support again asked for full details — which I provided — and then ultimately closed the ticket with no explanation or resolution. They admitted the issue occurred but offered no compensation or accountability.

📌 3. Withdrawal Nightmare – They’re Holding My Money Hostage:
After losing trust in OKX, I decided to withdraw my funds and close my account. I liquidated all my crypto into USD — which itself took far too long due to low liquidity on their platform — and began the withdrawal process.
OKX made it extremely difficult to withdraw my own money:
• They allowed only small portions of my balance to be withdrawn at a time.
• Each transfer required 5 to 7 days to process.
• It’s been over 30 days, and I still haven’t withdrawn my full balance.
My withdrawal amounts are well below the allowed ACH limits, and I’ve passed extensive security verifications, including:
1. Email and password login
2. YubiKey authentication
3. YubiKey passcode
4. Physical confirmation (touching the YubiKey)
5. SMS code verification
6. QR code scan and photo facial recognition
Despite all of this, OKX claims they are “limiting withdrawals for security reasons.”
To be clear: I have never reported any fraud or unauthorized activity. The only issues I’ve raised were caused by OKX itself — missing funds, failed trades, and now, unjustified withdrawal restrictions.

⚠️ Final Thoughts: Avoid OKX
Based on my experience, OKX has shown:
• Incompetence in handling transactions
• Unreliable trading execution
• Poor and evasive customer support
• Unreasonable restrictions on withdrawing funds
If you value access to your funds, trading reliability, and responsive support, I strongly recommend avoiding OKX. This platform has cost me financially and wasted weeks of my time with no resolution.
Do not trust OKX with your money.

My name is Fernando, and this is my second post here. I deposited my account with a significant amount (currently the equivalent of around 3,500 USD) and then my account got frozen. I can't withdraw my money back to my bank account in Portugal. I don't know what to do and it feels like OKX just stole my money.
I contacted the support and they requested my proof of residence (yet my account was verified). I provided two bank statements with my exact address in Portugal and exact account number from which I deposited the money. OKX rejected it and I'm not sure what else I should do. I don't want to use OKX after all the recent stress and all I need is to get my money back!
The support person (see the screenshots) mentioned (calling me "dear", super professional) that my account was blocked because I was using OKX from a different region. I did travel recently and my wife lives in another country, also I occasionally use VPN, so is it a reason to steal my money, "dear" OKX?
OKX, I want you to answer the following the following two questions publicly please:
1. Please confirm that using your service from a region different from the residence region (as your support person states) is prohibited and may cause account freeze.
2. Please confirm that, once the account is frozen, the money cannot be withdrawn even though a proof of residence is provided - thus effectively you make these money yours.
Again, I'm a citizen of Portugal who provided you the proof of residence and you rejected it with no explanation. What else PoR do you expect from me? All the countries I recently visited and where I had the imprudence to access your service from?
This looks much like a scum, not a collaboration.
My last ticket number is #6679039, but I insist on a public conversation here so everyone sees how you handle customer issues.

A real exchange takes responsibility and protects its customers. OKX does neither. They hide behind weak excuses, ignore accountability, and let your hard-earned crypto vanish without justice.

On this platform,
I paid to the seller 210,000 PKR to buy equivalent 716.72 USDT and sent screenshots of payments and video proofs including chat with the seller and even calls and sms to the seller to provide proof that I have sent the seller the required amount against designated account no. Provided by seller and asked platform to provoke seller to release the payment and instead of freezing the seller assets and release the crypto to me, they messaged me that the they cann't take action the seller because he withdrew the assets after my payment to him and cann't help me out.

Endless KYC Nightmare & Blocked Withdrawals – Avoid at All Costs
I’ve been stuck in OKX’s “verification” loop for over three months.
I submitted everything: private wallet addresses, complete transaction histories, tax returns, audited financial statements, proof of business ownership, dividend records, even documentation from two separate companies — one of which had substantial audited assets.
Despite this, OKX keeps rejecting my documents without giving any concrete reason, sending me the same canned response and a link to their generic guidelines. They clearly don’t read what is submitted.
To make matters worse, they block withdrawals for hours or even days under the pretext of “verifying” the receiving address — even when the destination is a major, reputable exchange address that can be verified instantly.
Even the tax authorities require far less than OKX. After months of wasted time, I will not deposit another cent here and only want my crypto back.
Avoid this circus at all costs. There are plenty of other exchanges that treat clients with respect and follow reasonable, professional procedures.

After months of repeatedly providing every document imaginable — including two separate company profiles (the previous one showing audited assets of over xxx million) — I am done.
I no longer intend to deposit anything into OKX. My sole request now is to withdraw my existing crypto and close the account.
Your ongoing demands for redundant documents, despite already having full tax returns, audited financials, share registries, and transaction histories, have gone far beyond any reasonable compliance process. Even the tax authorities are satisfied with far less.
Please process my withdrawal immediately. If there are any genuine compliance concerns preventing this, I expect them to be clearly and specifically stated in writing. Otherwise, release my funds without further delay.

These crooks have rejected my crypto withdrawals to Kraken. No communication, I can just see “unable to withdraw” where I first saw “checking the address”.

OKX keeps changing promises and withholding my funds
I accidentally deposited ZORA (Base network) to OKX, which is not supported on the platform. Immediately after contacting support, the agent clearly stated that refusal was not possible and that I would be assisted with the withdrawal. However, later support went back on their word, saying that a refund was technically impossible.
Some time later, they told me again that the token would be added to the "untradable" list, after which I could withdraw it myself, but they have not provided any timeframe for over 14 days now. During this period, the token has been extremely volatile — ranging from $120 to $318 — creating significant risk for me.
OKX has offered no alternative solution (such as converting to USDT). The funds remain in their deposit address (TXID: 0x9440326994da5247aca234e23bd5f04aab8a8fbc52f235644f6e5098ce593989) and are not being used, yet I am denied access.
I expect OKX to honor their original commitment and immediately allow withdrawal.

My OKX account (registered via Apple Private Relay) was suddenly frozen, despite a small balance in STX.
Support has given only vague replies, and the promised unfreezing date was extended with no explanation.

OKX TR which is their Turkey brand is the problem. I deposited more than usual to my account and as soon as the deposit is completed, my passkey (FACEID) option was gone. So i couldn't withdraw and i have a limited account. Due to my deposit, i became a VIP customer and got VIP support. They asked me to send the identification document which i did. Been almost 2 days and no action taken. No info was given unless I ask. I contacted them 2 more times to get an update and the only update is they are working on it. How long would it take to review and compare one document? For a VIP Customer? As soon as this issue is resolved, I will withdraw everything I have and will never use. Even the global one. My OKX account was suddenly flagged as “Potential Deposit Risk” on July 11.
I’ve submitted all documents and completed all questionnaires multiple times.
Three official support tickets (#6471690 / #6441946) were opened.
The only response I got: “under review” with no timeline or update.
Meanwhile, my funds are still frozen.
I’ve tried reaching them on X (Twitter), in their Telegram group, and via email.
Even worse, I’ve been muted in the Telegram group for simply mentioning OKX official email.
I’ve even been contacted by scammers pretending to be OKX support.
This is beyond frustrating — no transparency, no accountability.
I will update this review if I receive a meaningful response.
Until then, I advise everyone to be extremely cautious before trusting OKX with your funds.
Update (30 July 2025) – still no resolution after salary clarification
OKX recently asked me again to submit a salary clarification document, which I provided immediately. However, once again, there has been no further response or timeline.
It has now been over 2 weeks since my account was frozen on July 11, and my funds remain locked with no clear explanation or resolution.
This process continues to be vague, inconsistent, and lacking transparency. I will continue to update this review as new developments occur.
I urge anyone using OKX to be cautious and prepared for possible delays and communication breakdowns. If this issue continues unresolved, I may have to escalate it to relevant financial authorities.
Update (July 31, 2025): It’s now been 20 days since OKX ticket #6441946 froze my funds on July 11. I’ve supplied ID, employer letter, payslips, salary clarification, and a fresh bank statement (submitted July 30) — yet there’s still no meaningful response or timeline.
I will escalate this to ASIC and AFCA if OKX does not resolve within 24 hours.

I was scammed by someone who used OKX to receive over $4,000 from me through a fake investment platform. I provided OKX with all the evidence, including wallet address, scammer email, and screenshots. They confirmed that the wallet was blacklisted, but they still refuse to take further action unless contacted by law enforcement directly.
The process to submit a report is not difficult, but the lack of effective support afterward is disappointing.
