Superb friendly and stylish inn
Our second stay at The Old Mill was every bit as good as the first.
The rooms really are fabulous. Extremely comfortable beds, pristine clean, very large, and extremely tastefully fitted out.
The food is really, really good. We had the steak pie again because it was so good last time, and it's still a strong contender for the best I've ever had.
The portions are still enormous, though, and one between the two of us would still have been too much!
This time, the staff, whilst friendly and helpful last time, were really good. They seem to be settling in and getting really comfortable with what they're doing.
We spent a long time chatting with the person behind the bar, who made us feel incredibly welcome. It felt like good old-fashioned country pub, where the staff want to talk, and not just slink off to skulk in corners on their phones...
We're still hoping to move house to be very close to The Old Mill. We've never been ones to go out to the local pub, but if this was our local (or close enough), we'd be very tempted to spend more time here.
