We were invited by the Fratoni family to share lunch with them. The food was fantastic and all home made. Traditional olive ascolana, some with truffle, zucchini which was grown in their garden, tomatoes, local bread and of course their fabulous extra virgin olive oil. For dessert home grown plums, ice cream and this topped with orange flavoured olive oil. A real taste explosion in the mouth. If you are ever in the Ascoli Piceno area you must call in to Olio Fratoni to see how the oil is produced and sample their full range of olive oils. You will definitely not be disappointed. Special thanks to Domenico, Anna, Chiara and Valentino for their company and splendid lunch.

Our olive oil tasting was so informative. It opened up my taste buds to find the flavors and complexity of olive oils. Valentine was the perfect teacher in showing us the ways to taste olive oils. And to also learn the different ways to extract the oils, the old and new.
