I bought the Citysports Folding Treadmill 1400W Electric Treadmill (12km/h) from the seller “Right Choice” through the OnBuy.com website . The first unit failed after eight months with an internal electrical fault that tripped my home electrics. The replacement lasted six months before developing another electrical fault.
When the seller refused to replace or refund the item, OnBuy offered no meaningful support, despite clear evidence of repeated product failure. Their buyer protection did not help when it was actually needed.
If you’re considering buying higher‑value electrical items, be aware that if something goes wrong, you may be left without any support. Based on my experience, I would not rely on OnBuy again.

I ordered some Einhell Shears through OnBuy. The item was faulty. I provided video evidence of the fault. The seller "Trading Moyo LTD" agreed to refund it after I complained of no reply to Onbuy. Trading Moyo sent me a return QR code via Onbuy using Amazon Logisitics. I returned it as asked, but received no email confirmation from them and no receipt can be provided with this method. Instead, I took a photo at the post office to prove it. I have followed up with Amazon logistics but the return QR code Trading Moyo provided is fake. Trading Moyo are now not responding to messages. Onbuy shrugs it off and says I need evidence. How can I when the QR code didn't allow it? DO NOT USE OnBuy. Amazon is a much safer marketplace to buy products.

Counterfeit goods from sellers and sellers are able to get away with sending non-working returns labels when you ask for a refund. Buy from reputable companies and not OnBuy as you will be wasting your money and time and you will get ripped off.

i ordered a Kodak camera (pixpro fz45) with proud marketplace ltd not only did it take ages to deliver but when it finally arrived i was asked for a code to receive my order ( i was never given a code) after messaging back and forth repetitively with the seller i got the code after a WEEK of back and forth messaging (bear in mind the delivery guy kept coming to my door asking for a code i had not been given ), now the delivery drive is no longer coming to the house after nearly 4 week iv still not received it and the seller now ignoring my messages iv also contacted onbuy itself and also not helped me im £90 down and 0 camera bad service,loss of money and i traveling in a week!!! joke do not order !!! also not been told im getting a refund or my camera.

Buy from them and you get endless e-mails. The unsubscribe botton requires you to log on to your account (illegal!) and then when you try to close the account it refuses to since you have bought something from them within a month.
Unsubscribing should be a single click event.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience using OnBuy and would strongly urge others to proceed with caution.
I purchased a camera from a seller called SnowWolf3c, which turned out to be faulty (the flash was not working correctly). I returned the item using the seller’s provided return label, and before doing so I took extensive precautions, including video evidence showing the camera inside the box, the parcel being securely packaged, and the weight recorded at dispatch.
Despite this, the seller is now claiming the parcel arrived “empty” and has refused to issue a refund.
The key issue is that the return was arranged using the seller’s courier. Under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, responsibility for the parcel in transit lies with the seller in these circumstances. Any investigation with the courier is between them and the courier, not the customer.
However, OnBuy has refused to intervene and is simply telling me to wait for the seller’s investigation to complete, leaving me out of pocket by nearly £500.
I have provided clear evidence supporting my case, yet this has not been properly acted upon. Instead, I am being forced to pursue chargeback and legal action to recover my money.
This has been an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience. A marketplace should ensure that sellers comply with UK consumer law, but in this case I feel completely unsupported.
I would strongly recommend that anyone using OnBuy:
- Carefully check who you are buying from
- Be aware that disputes may not be handled fairly
- Document everything, as you may need to rely on your own evidence
I hope OnBuy reviews this situation seriously and takes appropriate action, as this experience has significantly impacted my trust in the platform.
