I recently visited Oslo for a week and needed a quick haircut and beard trim. Based on some reviews, I decided to try On Demand Barbers at Jernbanetorget, but my experience was absolutely dreadful.
From the moment I walked in, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Despite having an appointment, I was kept waiting for over 20 minutes. When I was finally attended to, the barber seemed rushed and inattentive.
The haircut itself was a disaster. I showed a picture of what I wanted, but the barber didn't seem to care. He cut my hair much shorter than requested and the trim was uneven and sloppy. During the process, he constantly tried to upsell me on various products and treatments that I explicitly said I didn’t want.
When it came time to pay, the bill was shockingly higher than what was listed online. I questioned the extra charges, and the barber gave me a vague explanation about additional products and services, none of which I had agreed to. It felt like a blatant attempt to swindle me.
The overall service was incredibly unprofessional and unfriendly. The staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than in taking care of their customers. I left feeling frustrated and ripped off.
If you’re visiting Oslo and need a haircut, I strongly recommend avoiding On Demand Barbers. The experience was awful, the service was poor, and I felt like I was being taken advantage of every step of the way.
