Complete lack of care & concern over a HIPPA violation

DO NOT go here unless you wanted to be disrespected by the office staff, and then ignored or dismissed casually when you go through the proper channels to report the issue.

Last month a medical assistant here committed a HIPPA violation in front of staff and other patients after I inquired about why my request for a provider change had not been addressed yet after 2 or 3 weeks after submission. I tried to resolve the matter with the office manager Eric and another higher up named Daniel. I told Daniel all I wanted was an apology from Jessica, the medical assistant who actually committed the transgression.

I never received that apology and a couple WEEKS later they “resolved” the issue with my insurance company but refused to answer my calls to tell me what this resolution was. I even tried to speak with Dr. Tariq about his staff but he casually just told me I should talk to the office manager. Didn’t even seem concerned. I have never been treated like this before in the 20 years I’ve been receiving mental health care! I will be contacting Texas Department of Insurance to get my benefits used by this facility reimbursed back to my account and to reopen the case to this incident for further review.

Praise for Asim Shami

Rather than use this space to describe all the negative experiences, I would like to use this space to offer praise for Asim Shami.
The new website for One Behavioral Health Missouri makes promises about person-centered care and excellence in customer service.
The one star is there for a reason. Asim actually delivers on those promises. He is a beacon of light in what has otherwise been a bleak — and unnecessarily chaotic — experience, for hundreds of patients.
Asim has a well-earned reputation for consistently treating patients like people, for listening and delivering on their needs, and for anticipating, which is rare.

Disappointing experience with One Behavioral…

Our experience with One Behavioral Health was extremely disappointing. After meeting with psychiatrist Leslie Cherubin, MSN, PMHNP-BC, my sister’s long-term medications were discontinued by her recommendations and replaced with a new prescription, which resulted in a very difficult adjustment period that included severe panic attacks and an emergency room visit.

Psych During that time we called the office five days in a row asking for the psychiatrist to return our calls. While an assistant acknowledged our messages, the psychiatrist never contacted us directly.

To make matters worse, after waiting more than two months for a therapy appointment, we later discovered it had been canceled because the clinic was no longer accepting new patients. No one from the office notified us.

When patients are dealing with mental health treatment and medication changes, clear communication and reliable follow-up are essential. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.
