I booked with One Source Van Lines and…

I booked with One Source Van Lines and canceled my move within their own stated 72-hour window. I called, spoke to a representative, and was told someone would follow up. No one ever did. Later, they refused to refund my $1,841.06 deposit, claiming I didn’t email the cancellation — a requirement that was never clearly explained or enforced during booking.

No services were provided. No mover ever showed up. They’re just a broker who hides behind a shady contract and uses fine print to trap people into forfeiting money. There are dozens of complaints just like mine — same pattern: misleading quotes, poor communication, and refusing refunds for canceled services.

Avoid this company. They are dishonest and predatory. I’ve reported them to FMCSA, the Florida Attorney General, and my bank. I hope they get shut down.

*********THIS COMPANY IS PREDATORY

PLEASE. WHATEVER YOU DO. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They are liars and will up the price right before moving. They lied and said that the move included assembly, but that was a lie too. They damaged my property. AMANDA THE SALES PERSON WILL CON YOU AND SO WILL NICHOLAS. I’m shocked this company is still in business. I turned everything over to my attorney for him to look over everything. Save yourself the trouble and just go with a U-Haul or two men and a truck.

Do not recommend

My mother-in-law needed to move and I wanted to help her in any way that I could. I told her that I would take care of the moving details. I did my due diligence and researched reviews of countless companies. I picked the top 3 that looked best and got quotes. One Source Van Lines wasn't the cheapest and it wasn't the most expensive. I provided them with the list of furniture and since she was selling the house, they pulled the pictures of the furniture off of Zillow so that we could get the closest estimate possible. The thing that made me choose this company over the others was Joann and what she told me. She said the reason that we aren't the lowest is because most companies will give you a cheap quote and then they will increase the price on the day of the move. We won't do that to you.... My response was of surprise! I did not know that moving companies did such a thing. I appreciated her honesty and her commitment to not price-gouging my mother. I can appreciate an honest company that tells me everything upfront. The quote was for $5590. This would be to move all of her furniture from Cheney Washington to Boise Idaho (6.5 hour drive). In full transparency, she did have a baby grand piano and heavier items like a china hutch. We ensured that we listed all of this for the initial quote. We decided also to have her car shipped so that she wouldn't have to do the drive alone. This quote was $695 for the car which is a separate moving process. One Source called her 3 days before picking it up they adjusted the price to $11,000 (Full disclosure we did add on more boxes so we expected an increase, not $6k worth for approx 20 more boxes). To our surprise, One Source Van Lines outsources to another moving company. This company shows up at 3 pm on the day of the move with two guys. They walk around the house and then tell us the bad news. The price has now gone up from $5590 to $11,000 and now to $14,386. That nearly tripled the initial quote. We were told that the initial quote was not correct and that they also forgot to charge for packing materials. How could someone make that huge of an error in the initial quote? So now, since they waited till the day of the move, she has no other option than to pay them the money. She called One Source to report this and the person on the other line had the audacity to call my mother condescending. The customer service was not professional. After the call, they send me an email offering to credit her either $300 now or $450 in three payments. The caveat to this is that she will have a contractural gag order that says she cannot say anything bad about One Source. My belief is this is how they get people to stay quiet and not write bad reviews. There is no way that we are the only ones who experienced this price-gouging nightmare. My mother opted to not take the money so that I could write this review and warn others of this company. Also, I wanted to note that they also outsourced the move of the car as well. They did not come and pick up when they said that they would. We had to give a window and we said 1/28-1/30. They finally ended up coming two weeks later on 2/15 and tried to charge her an extra $80 at the time of delivery. In conclusion, their initial quote was egregiously underbid by $9k, the companies that they chose to stand behind were not what was promised, and their customer service lacked empathy. How this company has such a high rating is absolutely mindblowing to me.

They will cheat you once you sign

I moved with One Source in December of 2023. Intially the person who helped me was very nice, and walked me through everything - which gave me confidence to go with this company.

When one of their team called me a week before the move to verify what I was shipping, they told me I would be charged 90% of the total move price to add on only about 20% more items to the total.

So if my total move was $4000 and I had to add some items on at the end increasing my total truck used space by 20%, they wanted to charge me an additional $3600 to do so, - even though I was told my square foot cost would stay the same as when I put my deposit down.

After I questioned this - they told me "well if you don't want to pay it you can just it behind." Which is thinly veiled threat.

Additionally I was charged $700 dollars to shuttle my stuff because the roads to my place could not take a tractor trailer - even though the contract said it would be no more than $500.

These people are scum, cheats, and they pray on people once they sign the line.

They will talk nice to get you to commit. From there - criminals.

Price changes 2 days before move

1.5 months before the move they did a visual inspection and gave me a quote. 2 days before the move, after I had boxed up my house, they changed the price from $6k to $10k, and asked for another $2k deposit. The day of the move I came to my senses and cancelled after they arrived. All I want is the second $2k payment back but they won't return any calls.

Terrible service

Terrible service, and they will hang up on you if you don't just access the terrible service they deliver. I was told, multiple times, that I should expect a 5-10 day wait between pickup and delivery. Customer Service argued, told me this didn't happen, then hung up on me when I expressed my displeasure and told them I'd be sharing my frustrations with others, and tell them to avoid this company. Mind you, it took me a week to get ahold of anyone that could even pretend to help. They are awful.

Don’t trust this company pls

Our family was relocating in Florida from Michigan due to work. I searched up online for moving companies and one company came and looked at all the things in my house and the other I just spoke on the phone which was a lady names Joann Wistoski from City Moving Group LLC. She was super pushy and I was still looking around so didn’t really respond to her after multiple emails and calls. Our date to move came closer and she happens to call me and she tells me I work now for One Souce Van Lines. I thought that was add but whatever. Super pushy again with everything they were only 1000 dollars cheaper than the other company that came and looked at the entire house. We were quoted 5900 dollars from One Source. We were ok with paying that. The day we made the contract Joann wouldn’t let me finish reading the contract and pushing me just to sign. She couldn't get off the phone. Monday I get a call saying that we need to go thru everything again what we are taking and they jacked the price up to 12000 dollars now which we were not going to pay. After some very unprofessional phone calls with Joann spoke to customer service and basically came down to you need to leave stuff behind if you don’t want to pay 12k. The day the company came it was a different company from Chicago that had basically nothing to do with One source. Had a big Budget truck rented and they were moving our things. We got charged 150 for and elliptical extra bc that was a risky item if they have to put items on top they might fall so insurance wise they had to charge me for it. Same thing with our workout bike. So there is an extra 300 dollars and plus another 150 for materials they used which was some plastic and duck tape. Ok paid the extras. Our stuff moved really fast to Florida. When our stuff got in Florida, our tv, dining table and coffee table all were damaged. I have tried to contact One source thru their number it doesn’t work anymore. I have tried to contact Joann that number also doesn’t work anymore. I have emailed her she doesn’t respond. I have emailed the company on the email that they have on their website no respond. This company is an absolute scam and my husband and I are looking to take legal action. On their website it clearly states if you have damaged items please give us a call and we will file an insurance claim. Nobody’s phone number is working since I’ve moved.

Hello,
We are sorry to see this type of review as we never want customers to have a poor experience when moving with us. We can assure you we are here everyday and fully staffed. All phone number on the customer contract are indeed working.
The only reason the cost of the move would ever increase is in the event the customer has additional items, requires packing, additional stairs, or bulky fee's for unique items that cannot be stacked on. This is clearly stated at the top of the moving agreement.
Furthermore, our contract clearly states that we work with our network carriers. This is a broker driven industry and this business practice is common for most companies.
When reviewing the file, it appears that during the QA call prior to pickup, the customer asked to add inventory to be moved, 432 cf. ( size estimate-roughly 2 bd apt worth of goods) This does indeed increase the cost of the move as the job has gotten bigger. It says in the notes that the customer was scared no matter who she goes with, us or Allied, that her cost would go up. Allied has been around over 100 years and is a highly reputable company. If she went with them, would they have received this type of review? Are they a scam? They ended up not adding the items in QA and chose to possible take their chances with the mover and add items on-site day of service. Inevitability, this cost again increased on-site as the mover saw they had additional items.
Finally, a claims email was sent to the customer to file an insurance claim and we are sorry that they incurred broken or damaged items. This is part of moving unfortunately, and why insurance is available. If the customer needs assistance with the claims process, we can assist. When calling the customer service line we would ask that they be patient as the calls are answered in the order they are received.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! THEY WILL LIE AND SCAM YOU!!!!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I moved 1/25 from California to Kansas and was set with a better well know company when I received a call from Brendan C at One Source Van Lines. He told me he could beat the price given by the other company due to a cancellation headed there anyway. We also discussed my amount of things to move and he encouraged I bring more due to it being a small move. I also spoke about needing my things by 1/25 if possible. He said that was no issue. He said his team would be handling the pick up and that they were not a broker. ALL OF THIS WAS A LIE!!! When the movers came to pick up my stuff it was a different company. They stated the price would be 2x the original price because of the stuff I had. When I had been very clear about all my things. After picking up our stuff I tried talking to one source. I could not speak to Brendan again. Holly explained it was more because I had an extra box spring than they thought. When I asked for their US Dot number suddenly she couldn't answer anymore. I later found out my stuff would not arrive until 2 weeks after the date we had spoke about. They didn't even ship my things until the 25th.

I am not one to leave reviews but, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. They lie and steal from their vulnerable customers who are already dealing with the stress of moving. I wish their were more reviews for this company to know to stay away and that is why I am leaving this.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! THEY WILL LIE AND SCAM YOU!!!!

We have been lied to from the getgo

We have been lied to from the getgo. They said it would be 3k for the move. They said the movers would call us 1 hour before they showed up. Movers called us 20 minutes before showing up. They told us it would be 6k to move. We were told 3-5 business days we should expect our things. Called at 5 business days, got told 5-14. Called at 14, got told that we would get a partial refund. Got told that our shipment was loaded and headed our way, then got told the loaders lied and they were not coming until the next week. A month without our things we got told the movers had loaded and would call us 24-48 hrs before they arrived. They called us three hours before their ‘expected’ arrival. Told us 6, showed up at 10 pm. They are throwing are things. Won’t take stuff upstairs. Found out we don’t get a partial refund because it’s 21 business days, and we had been lied to the three times we had communicated before. We were told the movers would be the same who picked up and delivered. They were not.

If I could give 0 Stars I Would

If I could give 0 Stars I Would. This company took advantage of me and I should have trusted my gut opinion when I initially cancelled my move with them since I had concerns with their service as previous co-workers had horrible experiences with them/other moving companies.

I sent pictures of all of my inventory items and explained to Daisha that my main concern was spending more money than I was quoted for, for my move. She responded by saying if I sent pictures and I had nothing more than what was pictured then there should be no concerns about a difference in price from the carrier. Well she was wrong, I had to pay $1,000 more to Prince Moving due to them saying I had an excess of 1,000 cubic feet than what I was quoted for. How, when I sent pictures of all of my belongings and was sent an updated quote after submission of pictures? A $1,000 that I didn't have. They begged me for my service and I trusted them! The movers showed up and charged me an additional $75 dollars because there was an excess of a flight of steps which in their contract "Princz Moving" stated a flight = 7 steps. My contract with ONE SOURCE VAN LINES stated that a flight of steps = 10 steps. I called Jim from One Source Van Lines while the movers was at my pick-up location and told him Princz Moving was trying to charge me for a flight of steps that I shouldnt have been charged because my contract stated a flight was 10 steps not 7 steps. He told me to pay Princz moving the additional fee so they could do the job since they were on site and One Source Van Lines would reimburse me for the charges because I signed a contract with One Source Van Lines not Princz Moving Company. I've been waiting on my updated paperwork only to be told that I'm not going to be reimbursed because that is not the responsibility of One Source Van Lines, its the responsibility of the carrier Princz Moving. However, Jim from One Source Van Lines is the one who told me that since their were discrepancies with the contract, that One Source would submit paperwork for review for me to get reimbursed.

I got my furniture from Princz Moving at the dropoff location, while they were "nice dudes" they did not assembly any of my furniture at dropoff. They also lost a box of my belongings, and the headboard to my bed. I was originally quoted $2,900 for the move. After sending pictures that quote went up to around $3,100 dollars. I paid $4,000, $900 dollars more than my updated quote and now they want to penny pinch $75 that is owed to me and act like I'm fussing over something small. It's the principle that I followed the instructions of your worker JIM, and he ensured that I was binded to a contract agreement with one source van lines and that I would receive some reimbursement, Now, Jim is allegedly on vacation for a week and they want me to show my hand while they sit back and don't acknowledge how they took advantage of a hard working man who is trying to provide for his family.

I NEVER leave reviews but you all must trust me, DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES!! MOVE YOUR THINGS YOURSELF!!!

STOLE $500 FROM ME ! HORRIBLE COMPANY!

THIS MOVING COMPANY STILL OWED ME $500 OF MY OWN MONEY THAT THEY SAID IS STILL NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. So my wife and I were out in North Carolina due to me being in the Marines but I just recently EAS’ed out and am currently moving across the country back to the West Coast, we never used a moving company before so we picked one that looked decent enough online but we were horribly mistaken. Ever since we started the process with OneSouce whatever, they rescheduled TWICE on us when they we’re supposed to pick up our items and also didn’t call to reschedule UNTIL after the time they said they we’re supposedly coming. Then they finally show up a couple days later from the scheduled pickup date. They were friendly don’t get me wrong but not organized or very professional. They left items in the cabinets when all they had to pack up was the kitchen since we packed up just about everything else in our damn house. Then once they left it felt like it would go smoothly from here on out but oh we’re we mistaken ONCE AGAIN ! Our situation is a little all over the place so we barley are leaving North Carolina heading to Las Vegas, they were able to ship out stuff but showed up at the wrong address.. then since we can’t be there due to me having to wait for my DD-214 to leave the Marine corps. So my wife’s brother took charge of guiding them to our house and where to put the items, which they only had to put the items in the garage and leave. Simple right? We’ll they got that part right.. thank god. BUT ! They are very very UNORGANIZED & UNPROFESSIONAL as I said before, so they offered us some payment plans we could choose from which were Cash App, Zelle or cash. Cash was out the question since obviously we weren’t there to hand it to them. So we thought why not zelle them. So we sent $500 and for whatever reason it magically disappeared, and I called my bank & zelle both talked to a rep and they said the MONEY IS DELIVERED. They couldn’t cancel it, couldn’t hold it nothing. But one source said they don’t see it and it didn’t deliver so they need cash or they will hold my belongings for the night or whenever I give them the money and if they took it for overnight it would’ve came out to be an extra $600!! So we said we can’t pay that we paid for you guys almost $3000 and are paying for other expensives etc.. so we sent more money to them and of course they got it that time.. and now we’re waiting for that money to be sent from them.. that happened on January 27th. Horrible company. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS KIND OF SERVICE TO ANYONE .

Hello,
We are sorry to hear you feel the move was unprofessional. When reviewing the file it appears that we had to push your pickup out one due due to the strict requirements when entering a United States Military base. Some of these bases what multiple forms or id, back ground checks, and other requirements just to get through the gate. This is why we ask for a 3 day window as to the pickup like most movers require.
On the file it shows that the customer paid an additional $112.00 to have 7 dish packs. This does not mean the whole kitchen is going to be packed. This means the mover brought 7 dish packs and will pack for what was paid for. The have all of the boxes and fragile items, miscellaneous items, this is considered a full pack which comes at 1.50 per cf. in this case.
The total cost of this move was $2792.64 to travel from NC to NV which is roughly 2442 miles. In todays current market this is an excellent price to relocate this distance during the timeframe the customer relocated. After making a deposit they had a remaining balance of $1570.00 in which half would be due at the pickup and the remaining half due at the drop off. All moving companies will require cleared funds on these payments. We offer some of the payment app's to keep up with the times and help folks out. Now, These payment go directly to the carrier that was sent out.
When further reviewing the file we do not see any notes as to the customer being charged unnecessarily or more then they should have. However, if this were true, the funds would be refunded to the customer as we are not here to pull fast ones on a move the size of a studio sized apartment. We perform over 6500 moves annually and have an upstanding reputation on multiple platforms. We have worked hard to get where we are as a company and would not jeopardize that over this amount of money nor would our carrier. We value our customer base and want to ensure everyone has a smooth transition into they're new places, especially our United States Military.
If the customer for some reason has not already cleared up the matter, please reach out to our customer service department and we'll be sure to contact the carrier to make them whole if the matter stands true.
Thank you,
-One Source Van Lines

Terrible Company/Bad Communication with their employees, bad customer service/ no help

THEY rescheduled 3 times for pickup date, they also were supposed to pack the kitchen stuff for us since it’s more delicate and was a part of the service initially agreed, but seemed the movers weren’t aware(the office never told them) anyways we paid the pickup charge online through a link the movers sent… after they left we discovered many thing left in kitchen cabinets that we now have to throw out since we can’t take them across the country with us….. Now to delivery, we had a temporary address for the delivery in Las Vegas since we didn’t have a place yet, but a month ago we got a place/new address for delivery and let the office know to change in their system, WEEKS AGO still in the same city, today they delivered to wrong address because again the office/company sucks at communicating, the driver called us and we gave the driver the correct address. They said forms of payment cash or Zelle, no link this time(weird but okay) so my husband and I sent the money in 2 parts since from experience we know Zelle has a cap on large amounts, both transactions went through and my husband’s said it would be available for them within 1-3 days. WITH CONFIRMATION NUMBER AND ALL, the movers got the notification as well, but the company rejected that form of payment and basically said “send the money again, we don’t have it” no we contacted both Zelle and my husbands bank directly and they both said they couldn’t cancel to send another amount since the money WAS ALREADY SENT TO THEM, it will just clear fully within 1-3 days but we have no access to that money anymore since it’s already sent to them. We called one source to let them know and they did not care at all. They said the only option was to hold our stuff and charge another 600!!! So ultimately we HAD to send our payment double!!!!! Just to get our stuff delivered. I just hope we get the first payment back (the one that’s 1-3days) and we’re handling all of this over the phone across the country, OneSource is a terrible, stressful, unprofessional company to work with. And I better get my money back

Choose ANYONE but OneSource

OneSource Van Lines was a complete letdown, and took advantage of us financially. We hired OneSource for a cross-country move, and ultimately decided to cancel the move well within the 72 hour timeframe that they included in the contract. But the company completely twisted their own rules, claiming that multiple phone calls and check-ins on our cancellation were insufficient. They kept nearly our entire deposit, and offered us $200 of our $1000 initial payment. This was for a move nearly 6 months away, that was canceled within the first 3 days. Still, they insist that they should keep $800, for zero work - they certainly didn't move a single belonging! I simply cannot stress enough that there are far more trustworthy, honest partners out there. Good luck, and stay vigilant.

Hello,
We are sorry to see this type of review as we always do our best to provide the best quality of communication and service for every move we come in to contact with.
When reviewing this file it appears that the customer went over an inventory list with a moving coordinator, agreed with the terms of the agreement, then signed a contract. They then went through a verification call confirming the work order to ensure everything was accurate and all proper expectations were set.
Customer was informed that they are playing for the space they will be moving as to Cubic Feet. This is how most long distance moving base pricing. A few days after booking, customer began to contact their moving coordinator with concerns as to additional costs. Evidently they had additional items to add to the inventory list. We informed them that the Quality Assurance team would contact them prior to the pickup to go over the inventory again. This way if they wanted to add or remove items, their cost would adjust.
Later, we learned that it was quite a bit of items and the customer wanted to set their own price for the increase. We informed them that they locked in a rate of 4.30 per cf. and they would adjust at this rate being that it is binding. They again said they only want to pay an amount that they felt it should increase to which was not agreed upon when signing the moving contract.
We have policies in place just like every other moving company, we do our best to be fair and always put customers first. We understand the stresses of long distance moving and are not here to bring hardship to anyone's relocation. At the same time this customer needs to understand as a large outfit we have policies in place to allow every family to have a smooth transition into their new homes. We cannot allow our Quality Assurance team to stop dealing with customer about to move in a few days to take someone how is not yet due for their call. We did our best to communicate this to the customer and inform them we would try to get they're QA call done earlier if possible.
Finally, customer did not email info@onesourcevanlines in order to cancel within 72 hours and the matter was treated as a late cancel. One Source offered a partial refund for the late cancel in order find common ground. Furthermore, they were also offered the option to place their move on hold if they wanted to allow themselves more time financially to be in a better position for the moving expense. We would only require a 7 day notice prior to any pickup window to accommodate. As folks can see based on our online reputation, the majority of our moves go extremely well when all parties are on the same page. We are sorry this particular move came to this point and we with the customer and their family the best.
