Today I received what I assume is their standard letter when a business is due to file a Confirmation Statement soon, which they can find online. I scanned the QR code (which was a bit suspicious) and only when it came to the fees did I clock this is not HMRC or any government body, it's a private company offering to file your statement for you - which you can do yourself in less than two minutes - for a significant fee. Preying on those who are a bit unsavvy, in my opinion.

Give the false impression of being a goverment agency to take money off you.
They sent me a reminder ( a very official looking letter) about an overdue filing for my small company. The tone of the letter gave the impression they were a government organisation sending a reminder to me and the form was filled in by scanning a QR code on the letter. This meant you did not see company blurb etc on their website, just the form. I filled in the form and made a payment of £96.80 only to find out they were in fact a private company and had charged me £46.80 more than filling in the same form on the government website myself. I subsequently filled in my own form on the government website and paid the £50, so they took £96.80 off me under false pretences and for not providing any service at all. I tried to get hold of them. No live telephone response or chat services. They say they will get back to me within 2 business days. Update: They sent me a refund form but restricted the size of the text boxes to about 50 words so you are completely unable to give a full explanation of why you should have a refund.

I have to say I’m extremely disappointed with the service.
On top of the £50 I would have paid by going directly through the Government/Companies House route, I’ve been charged an additional £33 platform fee and a further £49 for changing the directors. That’s an extra £82 for what is advertised as an "easy to use" service.
Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite. Customer service is virtually non-existent. The live chat says someone will get back to you within 24 hours, and the helpline only allows you to log a call and wait up to 48 hours for a callback.
Considering the additional fees charged, I would have expected a much higher level of support. Instead, I’ve paid significantly more and still can’t get hold of anyone when I need assistance.
Had I gone directly through Companies House, I may have had to wait on hold, but at least I would have been able to speak to someone and get an answer.
With the filing deadline approaching quickly, this lack of support is incredibly frustrating. Overall, this has been a complete waste of time and a very poor customer experience.
