Couldn't do without…

Great little Device even if you forget to take your phone out of you pocket! It still reminds you of camera vans static cameras and of course you are gently reminded of the speed limits Great little money saver( speeding tickets £100 no body has time for that) will gladly recommend one of these great little devices!

Not great

the device does not "detect" speed cameras - I think it relies on GPS to identify sites were cameras are, or were, and sites where mobile vans frequent, and i think the data is gathered from users reporting sites.
so it goes off where there is not a camera in sight.... where they may have been a camera years ago, or where a mobile camera may frequent. and it does not go off when it is unaware of a camara, so.... it did not go off at the new cameras on the A46 between Stratford and Alcester, it did not go off for the average speed cameras on the A435 around Alcester, and it did not go off on the A4104 just outside Pershore where a mobile camera often parks.
So its useful, but not great.

You're right that it isn't radar-based "detection." For mobile and semi-fixed cameras, it works from a community system: users report sites in real time, including where mobile vans tend to sit - and it's as simple as pressing the OOONO button when you pass one. That's the whole idea, since those cameras move around from time to time, and every report helps fill exactly those gaps for other drivers. Fixed cameras, on the other hand, run on our own database rather than depending on user reports.

So for the mobile and average-speed sites you mentioned, reporting them as you pass makes a real difference. And if you come across a fixed camera that isn't alerting, you're welcome to reach out to our Support via the OOONO website at ooono.com so we can look into it. 😀️

Unreliable

Out of five alarms, one is actually a speed trap. The others are "ghosts".

Poor customer services ,

Ordered version 2, item never arrived both ooono and courier blaming each other , Had to wait 10 days for a refund !! So warning if you buy it may not arrive

The product was ok but the corrier was terrible I had 6 SIX delivery dates and it finally turned up eight days from the first date

Working on road very well..

Working on road very well... All cameras updated on motorways and local roads. Battery charging once a month never turn it off

I bought a new set of magnets to place…

I bought a new set of magnets to place the OOONO in a more prominent place. Unfortunately it was in strong sunshine and the weight of the device (which is slight) served to make one of the two magnets slip on the it’s own glue. Ie the small magnet slipping off the glue strip that holds magnet to the car.

This is the worst item I have ever…

This is the worst item I have ever bought.It doesn't pick up anything at all.I am pos8 this at 30 minutes past midnight because it has just woke me up AGAIN with another notification saying nothing.I absolutely hate it.

It's OK.. and a great back up to my radar detector .. and picks up about 50% of cameras and hopefully my radar detector picks up the rest ...

Battery Drain

No matter how many times I request customer support, I get the same advice, even though I explain the last advice given is the same. Basically my mobile keeps telling me to turn on bluetooth wo get notifications, when away from my vehicle. I don't need it for sitting in a office.

Privacy policy changes made me close my account

The recent changes to OOONO's Privacy Policy made me close my account immediately.
I do not agree with my personal data being used for marketing purposes or being shared with third parties. That is simply not something I am willing to accept.
After closing my account, I sent two separate emails requesting that all of my personal data be deleted under GDPR. So far, both emails have been ignored, and I have received no response whatsoever.
I will not let this matter go. If my GDPR request continues to be ignored after the legal response period, I will file a formal complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
Respecting customers' privacy should be a priority. This experience has completely destroyed my trust in OOONO.
