Open Desktop Authenticator (ODA) is a free, open-source Steam authenticator for Windows, published by MASTERPANEL LLC. It does what the Steam mobile app does, on your desktop: generates Steam Guard codes, and approves or denies trade and Market confirmations. You can import an existing maFile, move an authenticator across from the Steam mobile app, or set up a new one. Everything is stored in an encrypted vault on your own computer, unlocked by a passphrase we never see and locked again automatically when you step away. There are no accounts to create, no servers of ours to sign in to, and no telemetry — the only request ODA makes that isn't to Steam is an optional update check, which you can switch off. The source code is public, and builds are published only through the Microsoft Store and GitHub Releases, each with SHA-256 checksums and build provenance so you can verify what you downloaded is what we built.
