Looks like a great product, but...

Looks like a great product, but with the free version requiring an iPad or Android tablet to provide clock in/out functionality, I'm not sure that I'll be able to use this for my first employee.

Hi Johnny, thanks for your feedback. TimeClock feature runs on both tablets and on employee devices. Tablet version is included in the Free plan (yes, you will need your own tablet device to run it). Alternatively, your employees can use the time clock feature on their own device using the OpenSimSim app (Free to download the app however requires Premium subscription). TimeClock is an essential feature for any business to ensure you cover yourself for potential issues or disputes from a labor law compliance point of view. These include having records for knowing exactly when employees clock in / out from their shifts, when they take their breaks, ensuring enough breaks are taken, manager alerts on late clock in or clock outs, acknowledge any legal disclaimers upon clock-out or clock-ins, avoiding buddy punching using photo clock-ins etc. As a business owner you get a complete peace of mind. Reach out to us on support@opensimsim.com if you have any questions. Thanks

Great Bang For Your Buck

Great product. Definitely has some growing pains for manager functionality but it is a newer program and they add new features and updates frequently. Especially if you put a request in for one via the feedback section and get some other users to put traction behind it. For employee use it is stellar. Easy to use on the phone for older generations and newer. One of the best bangs for your buck you can find for a scheduling program.

Hi Jake, thanks for your feedback. In terms of manager features, we have a brand new employee availability solution which will make availability changes and approvals much easier to track and control for managers. The timeline for this is towards the end of this year. We are also working on a brand new scheduler view for managers which is completely rebuilt from ground up for better performance, more scheduling features and schedule visibility. Thanks.

Amazing product!

Like many businesses, I used to do staff scheduling in an Excel spreadsheet. One of the major problems of doing the schedule this way is that it didn't really change from week to week and thus employees really struggled to get days off when they needed them. I had searched and searched for software to help me do scheduling but everything was super expensive, and didn't really align with the niches of our company. Then I stumbled upon OpenSimSim. OpenSimSim works perfectly with the way our business operates and my stresses of doing the schedule and employees needing time off are completely gone. At first it was completely free which was amazing, but they changed their pricing (which is totally understandable, I mean a business has to make money) and now I only pay $150/year which is way more affordable than similar services. To top it all off, their support staff is awesome and incredibly responsive. They listen to things like feature requests and provide a very personal experience to their customers. Keep it up OpenSimSim, you guys rock!
