Terrible tech support

I've made multiple requests for help with the platform. It stops working after I played the first 100 lessons. It is not possible to review the lessons once I've listened to all of them.

Tech support via email gets ignored.

Tech support via the website ticketing system asked me for answers I already supplied in the initial request and then ignored me.

It's a good service until you experience issues. It's very frustrating that there seems to be zero technical support and a total lack of concern for the paying subscriber.

App may be okay for learning languages, misleading marketing and lies not okay

App may be okay for learning languages, mistrust will halt further lessons to find out.

Not impressed with lies/ misleading marketing on lifetime access several forums.

Boring

Boring. Just repeating standard phrases. Hard to hear some material. Spoken too fast and often too unclear for beginners. Duolingo works better.

Good program and I am able to use many of the phrases, perhaps some interactive function so that one can lfip from formal to informal, or drop or add certain words, like "again" or "very" so the basic phrase can be learned and modified.

It was hard to decide between 4 and 5 stars. 4 for the way it currently is, and 5 for the potential because I know they are working to add features. I'm really happy how much I remember from the simple method of repeating useful phrases. I think everyone should give it a try and see if it suits them. I think it's an incredibly useful complement to other methods. Thanks!

I went from Duolingo Hindi to Optilingo (having completed Duolingo). I found optilingo useful but pretty boring, repetitive and not engaging as a tool to study the language. I wish there were more interactive ways of studying beyond just grinding the phrases in phraseology. Only the skills of reading and listening are exercised. What about speaking?

fairly useful

I think at one point my levels were cleared of my progress, and there seems to be some technical issues at times (e.g. pausing and trying to come back to it later). But it's a nice concept and works smoothly for the most part!

I like what I have seen so far

I like what I have seen so far. Be sure to get to know Duolingo. They have some good things you can use and some things I don't like. The vocabulary they use could be more practical for someone who wants to travel where the language is used. For example, I'm not sure I need to work on memorizing plurals for moose, wolf, and turtle. Some don't like the game aspect, but it helps me to do some work every day. Good luck.

Promising new language resource, few rough edges to iron out

Love trying new language learning resources so was excited to give this a try. My review is based on doing two lessons in Chinese language - so this is my very first, very fresh impression. I intend to do a followup one after longer interaction and more than one language, but thought that this brand new resource wants to get feedback quickly.

Pro:
- I did the lessons on my computer, but am glad that there is also an app for use on my phone.
- I liked the speed and tone of the English narrator, and the Chinese narrator also had a pleasant voice.
- I very much liked that the Chinese translations included Anglicized words, not only the Chinese characters (as some language resources use, which makes me abandon them immediately as I want to invest time in learning speech, but don't what to learn Chinese writing at this time).
- I also really liked that the English section did not only include the actual English sentence or phrase (i.e. its true meaning or intent or common way to say it), but also, what the literal word for word translation means.
- The phrases included in the lessons so far are truly useful ones.

Con:
- The graphic background of the lessons remains the same. I would like to think that this is a reflection of the resource still being in its infancy and as time goes on there will more variety of backgrounds for visual interest of the learner.
- The narrator refers to hearing fast and slow versions of each phrase. To my ear, there was only ever one speed: fast. They sounded identical.
- After the first half of the lesson, the same phrases repeat, for practice. This is obviously useful and I welcome the approach. However, the narrator talks about having two chances to "remember" the phrase - but each time, the English translation is immediately visible on the screen. The only way to try and actually "remember" rather than simply read it is to turn away from the screen or cover it up or something. Why not leave it blank, to allow the learner to try and recall independently, and then fade in the answer after some length of pause?
- I am more of a visual than auditory learner. I strongly benefit from having a visual image in addition to the auditory information to help me memorize information. Would strengthen the program a lot to have visual images to reinforce the words on the screen.

Overall, I look forward to how this new resource will develop!

Great language learning app for speaking

I was tired of Duolingo and wasn't getting far with Anki. Good for vocab, but still struggled when speaking. Few lessons with Optilingo and I could already speak a few phrases. Definitely a different app than what's out there and worth your time to check out.
