About Oracy Lab Primary Oracy Lab Primary provides practical, ready-to-use communication resources designed specifically for primary classrooms. Our mission is simple: to help children become confident speakers, attentive listeners and thoughtful communicators through engaging classroom activities that require minimal preparation from teachers. At the heart of Oracy Lab Primary is the belief that every child deserves regular opportunities to express ideas, ask questions, explain their thinking and participate in meaningful discussion. Strong communication skills support learning across every subject and play an important role in confidence, wellbeing and future success. However, many teachers face increasing pressures on planning time and workload. Oracy Lab Primary was created to provide a simple, effective solution. Our flagship resource collection, Daily Labs, offers a ready-to-display oracy activity for every day of the school week. Each activity is designed to encourage purposeful classroom talk through five engaging formats: Explorer Lab, Debate Lab, Storytelling Lab, Ready. Set. Speak. and Impossible Argument Lab. Together, these provide pupils with opportunities to explore ideas, discuss different viewpoints, develop oral storytelling skills, practise structured speaking and defend imaginative arguments. Every resource is created specifically for primary-aged pupils and is available in separate versions for Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2. This ensures that language, questioning and challenge are appropriate for the age and stage of learners whilst allowing schools to build a consistent approach to communication across year groups. Unlike many educational resource memberships that focus primarily on worksheets and written tasks, Oracy Lab Primary places speaking and listening at the centre of learning.
