Very slow service for online orders and store pickup

Incapable of sending a book via poat in less than 3 days within Switzerland, such slow service its hard to believe. If you order for store pickup it also takes about 3 days to confirm its there, even when they have the book in stock in the exact store you'd like to pick it up from!

eBook uncompatible with eReader

I bought an eBook and it was not available, only on their own webreader or an app, not possible to transfer it to an eReader. What's the point of selling eBooks that cannot be read?? The customer service refused to answer my demands for another format or refund.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! The customer service is terrible, I never received my order and when I enquired about this they said it was not their problem. Buy elsewhere.

Ordered a book for 29 CHF and received no invoice, just debt collection

Ordered a book for 29 CHF, invoice was probably in the parcel but disposed of it as the Order stated invoice will come via email. I never received this email. Forgot about it after a while and 3 months later received a bill from a debt collection company for 140 CHF. After complaining to Orell Füssli they just emailed that based on their T&Cs I had to pay and thats it. Oh and that I apparently had received several reminders - these never never arrived. Just lies. I will never order from this company again. Was my first order with them and my last.

I can not recommend this online shop

I can not recommend this online shop, after buying a book with credicard, they send me a letter some months later saying that this is the last warning for the payment, though I never received any letter before....

Locked ebook to awful reader

The only thing that is worse than buying a locked ebook from what you thought was a good retailer, is buying a locked ebook that can only be read on the horrendously incompetent online ebook reader from what you thought was a good retailer. Honestly said, if you can’t make a useful ebook reader, (and you can’t) don’t lock them to your terrible excuse for one. You can’t even highlight text. I could download a pdf and convert it with a free online app and it would still be better than this. Never buying from you again. The book itself was excellent but I bought another version because I hated your UI so much.

False description of a product, no answers from support.

I wanted to buy a pdf version of a book, but what they are selling is not a pdf, but some format that I can only read on some tolino reader. So the description of a product is totally wrong, you don't get what you are buying. Also, I got no response from their support when I tried to find out more how can I access my pdf file I purchased. I don't recommend at all, I purchased a book that I can't read.

Can't match stated delivery dates

OK when you order books in German.
In over 10 orders of books in English I had
"ready for shipment in 1-2 or 4-7 days" just get an e-mail the next day with 2 up to 4 weeks. Only excuses from support.
In my perception, they either don't have their stated delivery times not under control or this is part of a concept to lure customers.

Generally good, bad billing process

I’ve bought plenty of books from them, and would give them top marks. I always buy online and collect in person. In a recent case, in March, I could only buy an eBook. That was 13 chf so I clicked order, and forgot about it. In May I got a send reminder by Post to pay. I assume they had tried to remind me by e-mail, sorry I don’t have enough hours in the day to read all emails.

I didn’t react immediately, so they passed it to a collection agency which made the bill 110 chf. So now I had to correspond with their billing department which resolved it but in a very defensive language, which made me doubt If they were doing the opposite and taking legal actions.

This is stupid. Give your customer a call. I would have paid on the spot. Now You have lost my trust permanently over 1% of my past business with you. Bad for business, I’m not your enemy, I went with you to support local business over Amazon

Never ordering from them again

Ordered an article, had an expected delivery date of one month after i ordered it. Send an email after two weeks asking if it was normal, they said yes. After that, i waited, the estimated date of arrival passed and after 6 weeks of waiting nothing had arrived. I sent them an email and they replied: sorry, the supplier run out of stock, we cancel the order, you will get your money back in the next days. So in conclusion, i waited 6 weeks and they couldnt even send me a email telling me they would not deliver. They were expecting me to forget about it and keep my money. A real embarrassment. I chose them over their competitor because they were 10% cheaper and i didnt need the product urgently, but the competitor would have delivered in 1 day, not cancel after 6 weeks. Will never buy from them again.
