With everything getting more expensive these days, I was pleasantly surprised by Ortel Mobile’s pricing. I came to Germany for a bit of a break and needed a decent SIM card without spending a fortune. So far, it has turned out to be a pretty good choice. The network coverage is solid, mobile internet is fast, and even using my phone as a hotspot for gaming works surprisingly well, with low and stable ping. I also appreciate the amount of data included in their plans, which feels quite generous for the price. Another nice touch is the extra data bonuses you can get with your second and subsequent top-ups, without having to pay more. The pricing is fair, the service does what it is supposed to, and I have had no issues so far. Cannot really complain, especially considering the value for money. Would recommend based on my experience so far;)

I have had an Ortel Sim Card for 2 years that I use when I am in Europe which is almost half of the year. I use their Smart World S plan which costs €9.99 per 28 days and currently gives me 8gb of data and 200 minutes of call time. I use their App to top up. It works very well throughout the EU. Getting help if you need it can be difficult, as can be navigating their website which is why I haven't given it 5 stars. Overall very good value and good coverage in the EU.

They are make it hard for me to do number portability

I bought a sim card when i arrived to germany. Many services and stores told me that my number was invalid. I could make calls, but others couldnt call me. I had to keep using an old phone number from another country for two factor authentification which was pretty inconvenient. When i contacted them (after a little ghosting) they said they didnt recognise my number. I told them i would throw the card away and buy another one, and they have yet to reply. I guess they are happy not to have to fix this issue? Because i mean, how do you mess up so badly?

Don't even think buying their sim card! They will rip you off without you knowing it.
Charged me 17 EUR for using 35 Mb of the mobile internet only when I opened their app!

And special “thanks” from the Ukrainian refugee. Your company is a real embarrassment for Germany. Enjoy the money that you take from people.

I bought an Ortel SIM card in one of the Ortel’s representative shops in Berlin. The Ortel SIM card strangely had been registered by the shop on a name of a different person.

The internet was running out really fast, I tracked my usage. There was a problem with the SIM as I used 60GB of internet but Ortel SIM card run out of data when it should give me 110GB of data usage in total.

I called Ortel costumer service, they are unfriendly, lazy and incompetent. They never helped me and pretended that the problem was me. After that, they blamed their Ortel representative shop.

There are two-way fraud scamming techniques that they are using: 1. Change the name of the SIM card, so they can run out the SIM card data, so costumers need to pay extra money for the service. 2. Changing the SIM card name will make costumers loose nearly one month of their package. Both of this unlawful techniques are benefiting Ortel, their representative shops, extorting and stealing consumers' money in the process.

Please avoid this company. It’s part of O2 and they are experts at extorting consumers!

I got talked into an Ortel sim card at Frankfurt airport while looking for the O2 booth. It was next to useless. Service was reasonable around Frankfurt, but as we moved south signal was often non existent, and I only had internet available for about 1 week of the month we spent in Germany. Very much not recommended.

Very bad and arrogant customer service. I am having hard time even to port my number from them to another provider. They didn’t even have answer for my question to which number I must text to cancel a value added service. Absolute catastrophe.

I am temporary in germany for a job, May SIM CARD doesn't work here so i bought an Ortel mobile CARD (10€) at the Penny supermarket. It's already 3 weeks and they didn't actívate or gave me the right support even though the thousends of emails i send to them . The cause of It? They don't accept my ID card only beacause It's not an electronical one, thus at the Borders of all EU countries they accept my ID card. I can't stand It anymore. They answer always with same 3 pre imposted emails and It takes soooo long ti them to answer (even if the answer are Always the same ones). Worst support and experience EVER. Now i spend 10€ and have nothing to call, plus i have to go to the city centre to have some internet . Such a waste of time and Money! Don't raccomend to anyonee.

Everything is OK, just two small complaints:
- Toping up the SIM balance could be made easier.
- The internet fails sometimes in very crowded places or while travelling in train, but I don't know if this happens with other providers too.
