We viewed a property through Oscar James Estate Agents - Market Harborough.
The agent who showed us round the property was a guy called Ed, we can not rate him highly enough.
In my view his approach was just right - he was very professional but friendly, had excellent communication skills from the outset.
He gave all the required information when we asked and kept in touch but was never pushy.
I would not hesitate to recommend Ed at Oscar James, he is a real credit to the industry.
Sadly not all Estate are the same for sure but we really felt that we were in good hands with this agent.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Serious Neglect and Poor Communication
We recently completed a three-year tenancy with Oscar James Kettering, and to say it was a relief to leave would be an understatement. Over the past two years of our tenancy, we reported multiple serious maintenance issues that were consistently ignored or inadequately addressed.
The most concerning problems involved significant water ingress from the roof, which caused dampness and mould throughout three bedrooms — including those used by our young children. Despite numerous emails and two property inspections during which these issues were raised, no meaningful repairs were ever carried out.
In addition, the front and back doors had no proper lining and allowed cold air and moisture into the property, while loose lino tiles in the kitchen from a pipe leak that had been reported on numerous occasions caused a safety hazard that led to an injury requiring a hospital visit for one of my children. We spent our own money on heating and mould treatments just to make the property somewhat habitable.
After speaking with a representative at Oscar James and providing evidence of two years of ignored communication, we were assured we wouldn’t be held responsible for damage caused by the property’s ongoing disrepair. However, following our move-out inspection, we were informed that Oscar James intended to withhold nearly all of our deposit due to “paint issues” and “carpet damage,” despite the fact that these were consequences of the damp and mould problems we had repeatedly reported.
The lack of accountability, poor communication, and failure to ensure the property was safe and fit for habitation have been deeply disappointing. We are now considering legal action and reporting this matter to the relevant ombudsman.
I would strongly advise prospective tenants to avoid renting through Oscar James at all costs.

I have several emails to Oscar James that went unanswered or where Oscar James replied with actions they stated would happen that never came to light.
I have contradciting emails from Oscar James where a member of the team stated 'we will make sure you're not charge for any of the already reported issues that were not resolved. (A lie that i have evidence of in emails)
As for staying in the property, we were in the property for a year before most of the issues and in the current housing market it is not as simple as just leaving especially with a contract in place. However i appreciate your guidance would be to leave the property instead of the estate agents dealing with problems.
The lack of ownership for your poor communication and the fact i had a call from the manager stating how poor the service has been and failure of action was caused by members of staff who have now left is more of a testiment of a reason not to rent through Oscar James.
I would say you have a duty of care to the landlords and the tennets and i have nunerous amounts of evidence you have failed on this occasion.

Our experience with Oscar James Kettering specifically with an agent named Jo has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
We were interested in a property listed by them and scheduled a viewing, traveling all the way from London to Wellingborough with our 18-month-old toddler for a 12pm appointment. Shockingly, they failed to inform us in advance that the viewing had been rescheduled. The only communication was a text and an email that came around 9am after we had already boarded the interstate train.
Upon arriving at the property and calling the office, we were casually informed that the viewing was cancelled because they didn’t have the keys. There was no real apology or accountability for the poor communication and inconvenience caused.
Still, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed to a second viewing. On the morning of the second viewing, around 10 am, we even exchanged emails confirming the appointment before setting out on another long journey. Once again, after traveling for over three hours and arriving five minutes early, we were told to wait as the agent was "on their way." Fifteen minutes past the scheduled time, we received a call canceling again, citing the same reason: they still didn’t have the keys.
This level of disorganization, lack of respect for people’s time, and failure to communicate properly is completely unacceptable. We have wasted time, money, and effort, not once, but twice, with zero regard from Oscar James. I would strongly advise prospective tenants or landlords to think twice before working with them.

A company that deserves to be avoided like the plague. Plenty of posts to which other have also had the same experience so thankfully not on my own with this sham of a business and experience. James Potts the clown behind the operation.
